*****August 2014 Mummies*****

I think it varies a bit depending where u r hun......second time round u get less appts as well. I'm being seen next at 32 weeks, then if all ok I'm going on hols between 33 and 35 weeks so guessing I'll b seen next at 36 weeks like u xxx

Yes im next getting seen at 32 weeks i think my notes may say every two weeks thereafter but not sure. As mum2b says second time around we get less x

I get an appt at 28 weeks then not till 34 weeks after that its every two weeks until 40 weeks. If it was my first baby if also get an appt at 31 weeks. I've actually gir my 28 week appt early Tom at 27 + 3 as the midwife is away next week. Feels like it will be a long time till I'm seen again at 34 weeks!

Mum2b sorry Ethan is still unwell I hate it when my son is sick :-(

Still no sign of the dreaded chicken pox...fx we'll get away with it this time xx

Hi all haven't been on in a few days lots to catch up on. Sorry to hear Ethan still isn't well mum2be, poor little thing.

Suffering in this heat, having a lie down at mo while OH cooks tea, also seeing if I can feel bubs as he's not been giving me big pokes lately but as I type I'm being jabbed in the side!

Went to first nct class last night, 7 couples, 3 ladies there from my laisy daisy birthing class which is nice and OH wasn't too traumatised by it all despite having to read his stage of labour card out to the class and describe the perineum stretching!

Getting swollen feet now, think it's heat but it's giving me old lady feet!

Thanks hoping for no2 and Kaffee :-)

Hoping for no2- glad chicken pox not out yet- hopefully u will both b out the woods soon!

Kaffee- my feet r def going that way too! .....Great re NCT class xxx

Hi afield! Welcome over to tri 3 :-)
I'm off on holiday in June too- where r u going??

I did nct course last time and we had a specific breastfeeding class. We were all there as couples so wasn't alone but I remember it being v informative! We talked about stuff like latching, positions to try, size of babies stomach and how much it needs at what age etc. It was good! Hope u r ok ( I don't like going into group situations on my own either) and that u get a lot out of it! Let us know how u go xxx

Off to Portugal for 2 weeks  how about you?

I hope there are some other people on their own. OH is working or he would have come. Sounds good if it is anything like you went to. Will let you know how I get on xx

NCT = national childbirth trust
They run antenatal classes that r generally more in depth and in smaller groups than the NHS, but u have to pay for them!

Portugal- lovely! We r staying UK and going to Cornwall! B lovely to have a change of scenery :-)

Yay more August mummies in tri 3. I'm 29 wks today.

Been to ante natal class today - didn't enjoy this one as much, it was all about pain relief options, but they were focusing on the negatives of everything except gas & air which I thought was wrong, all but 3 of the 16 are ftms. I'm sorry but I dnt know how I'm going to react to labour pains and what I will need, so my plan is to go with flow and take whatever I need.

Had my first real craving tonight - farleys rusks in a bowl of cold milk. - it was heaven ha ha.

oh has started divorce proceedings against his ex, and she refuses to consent to 2yr seperation as he doesn't pay enuff maintenance - he pays what the csa have asked him to pay and has been in contact with csa since November and doing everything requested, so now he's got do it on unreasonable behaviour - not nice, as he's getting all stressed now. They've been split 3yrs lol.

Saw my ex hubby at the weekend, me, oh & ex had a real good natter, and my ex said let me know what you've had when you've had it so I can get something for the baby - how sweet is that.

Hope your all well and those of you with poorly little ones I hope they are all back to their normal selves real soon :)

Xx Leanne xx

Hey Lanny! Sounds like your OH's ex is being quite unreasonable there.....don't blame your OH for getting stressed!..... V sweet of your ex about the present for baby though :-)

My boy is gradually getting better I think. He didn't need us in the night for the first time since Friday and although his temp isn't right its not as high!.... Gonna try him with some breakfast shortly and c how he goes! Xx

Morning ladies - hope everyone is well!

Another decent nights sleep last night, thankfully!
I swear these past couple of weeks Ive doubled in size - I just feel absolutely huge!!
I'm struggling with clothes, especially in this weather - I just can't find anything to wear!! :( All the maternity bits I bought in a size 10 back in 1st trimester are all too tight now!! I'm off to see what I can pick up this morning, in Next & New Look. I fancy some nice flowy maxi dresses.

What are your saviours at the mo ladies??

mum2b - Hope little man is on the mend now, bless him!!
Lanny1981 - I'm thinking of looking into antenatal classes, for OHs benefit more than anything :) Hope the divorce proceedings get easier!! Its fab that you have such a good relationship with your ex! I think DS's dad is a complete arse but we're nice to each others faces when we need to be, ha!

Happy I've worn maxi dresses over the weekend when it was really hot and also got a lovely t-shirt material maternity skirt that either pulls up over your bump or you can fold it down. Very comfy. I'm wearing linen trousers today but don't really like the elasticated waistband as it's digging in to me and leaving marks on my skin. Maxi dresses are def the way to go in hot weather!

Mum2b glad to hear Ethan seems to be on the mend.

Lanny your hubby's ex sounds really unreasonable, hope he manages to get it sorted with her.

Just back from the midwife (plus she had a student in), was in there for an hour! It was my 28 week appt but had it a few days early as midwife off next week. Mentioned that there is something 'coming out' down below and that the side I had my episiotomy is all swollen and bulging too. The problem's worst when I'm going to the loo. They think it might be a prolapse which is being pushed down by the pregnancy, hence the reason I can see it now but couldn't before. I've got to see the GP to get examined. I've also had really bad bladder control problems since my son was born so this may all be related. Honestly, childbirth can really do some unpleasant things to your body (sorry to frighten any FTMs!!).

So I'm seeing the midwife in 2 weeks instead of 4 as she wants to see what's happening. Oh and they also think I have a urine infection so have sent my wee sample off to be tested. I'm not having a good time of things with this pregnancy, first HG, then the chickenpox scare and now this possible prolapse. Roll on the next 12/13 weeks!! xx

Happy- def maxi dresses! Or floaty tops and leggings! Hope u find some nice stuff xx

Hoping for no2- bless u hun that sounds uncomfy :-/ My friend had a prolapse with her second baby...... Try not to worry, it can be sorted out once baby is here, just not pleasant in the mean time!...... Hope that they sort out the urine infection too!..... You're def not having a great time this time round r u?!...... No two pregnancies r ever the same! This time round has def been harder for me too! Xxx

Oops automatically posted this on the Tri 2 thread.

Just back from my Breast Feeding workshop. Only lasted a hour in the end as there was only 3 of us there and just 1 OH. Although it was short it was informative and reassuring. Have been given lots of leaflets etc to go through x

Mum2b410 Cornwall will be lovely so looking forward to relaxing for a couple of weeks. Our holiday was booked before we found out about baby was a little worried about going away but can't wait to get away now x

Great it went well and u weren't the only one there alone!
Tell me about it- v much need a holiday :-)

Lots going on. I did the nct first time around and highly recommend it. Will miss not having a nice group of people to meet with who have little ones the same age. Was great for oh too so he was more prepared lol.

Maxi dresses are great but ive struggled to fit in my old ones but managed to find one yesterday but really need a few more bits too. My maternity clothes i bought ages ago are also tight - sigh haven't weighed myself lately but i know i have tipped the 2st mark already. Boo x

Hey girls how r u all doing today? It's good to see that u all recommend nct I booked mine for mid June bit scary as it means things are getting close! This is a really gross question so sorry for tmi but is anyone finding they are pooing more?! I find first thing in the morning I have to go like now! I used to be every other day or so but for the last couple of weeks it's twice a day?! Don't know if it's coz baby is getting bigger more pressure etc xx

Hey keeptrying!
I have IBS and what with that and iron tablets my tummy is all over the place! Can't really provide relevant comment, but I think better to go twice a day than b constipated! Maybe just hormones at the mo and will settle down again soon! :-)

I'm a bit all over the shop today- bit complicated and don't want to bore u all with the details but just feeling pretty low and hopeless :-/ Roll on Saturday when its our 3d scan- hopefully all will b well and that will cheer me up!

Great you've booked your NCT- hopefully u will really enjoy it and make some friends :-)

hi ladies, i have made a thread on this but thought i would post here too, hope you dont mind :) im 28 weeks tomorrow, i had an appointment today with the midwife and she said i am measuring 3 weeks smaller than im meant to. i have a growthscan booked for half 2 tomorrow to check she is growing ok. has anyone else experienced this? i am freaking out a bit  x also i have my whooping cough vaccine booked for tomorrow morning and heard that you can't have it if your less than 28 weeks pregnant, what if they change my dates at the hospital? will having the vaccine early harm my baby? i told the midwife i had it booked and she didnt tell me to cancel it? xx

Hi Georgie! Never measured small myself but I do know that those measurements can b inaccurate and hence the scan to check! It could just b babies position!! So try not to worry- hopefully u will just have a lovely scan tomorrow and feel much better!

It was me about the vaccine and not a day early- nurse at my practice wouldn't do it! I told my midwife next time I saw her and she thought it was silly!.... They wouldn't change your dates now as far as I know because its not as accurate as at 12 weeks! So please don't stress about that hun- I'm sure it will be fine xxx
