I suddenly seem to have popped out over the last few days, definitely showing now which I didn't expect to yet. I have mw appt next week at 17+4, obstetrician appt the week after at 18+6 and then scan at 21+6. Should the mw try to listen to heartbeat at appt next week, if she doesn't can I ask her to?

Hi ladies!
All went well am pleased to say! Got to see a nice Dr and heard the heartbeat for the very first time! So lovely!!...... I've got two more reviews with drs at 28 and 36 weeks and anaesthetic review at 30 weeks coz I have had a back issue previously!..... So pleased they r looking after me as I've been worried I wouldn't have any support!

Donnah- she should def listen next week.....any appt after 16 weeks they should do I think! Xxx

Leesey, what doppler do you have? Just listened to your heartbeats, they were amazing, I can't get anything on mine. Bought the mothercare and when I read it it says can hear heartbeat from 28 weeks, I wouldn't have bought it had I read that bit first but thought you could hear from 16 weeks? I am trying all over low in the pubic region, where the sonographer put the scanning thingy, but cant hear a thing boo, is it because the mothercare doppler is rubbish plus I am overweight?

So glad mum2b that all went well and you heard baby's heart beat very nice to know you will have support in place.
Donnah, I am not sure about the mothercare dopplers as never used them, but I remember buying one when I was pregnant with my 1st that said the same thing and for the life of me I could not find the heartbeat even at 34 weeks, probably cause I didn't have a clue of what I was doing lol

Maybe someone will come after me that knows the monitor and will be able to help you

Very cheeky baby once again and in AlanC's words I was air humping for a while

Scan date has now changed to 7th August.. I'll be 20+2, seems like ages away we are dying to find out the sex, might just need to book a private scan at 16/17ish weeks.

How are we all this eve?? Xxx

Great pic Weezy, its so clear!!! I know what you mean about the next scan. Mine isn't until 25th March. It feels like forever!
My bad luck continues, fell over today. I was so worried but lucky I was on my way to a doctors appointment at the time, so I told the doc what had happened. He checked me over and he found the heartbeat straight away so all is good, thank god. I think I'm going to just stay indoors until my due date!

I'll be nearly 21 weeks when I have mine. So getting impatient now!

I know, feels like it's never gonna come but I can also imagine it getting to Aug and thinking how quickly the time has flown, strange! Oaft I just wanna know xxx

Bubble wrap is another excellent idea. Hubby reckons he's going to escort me everywhere to keep a eye on me. I'm not sure I like that idea, so I'm just going to be super careful from now on! lol

Hi ladies when did you get your 20 week scan dates through? I'm only 14 weeks but seems others were given there date at the 12 week scan? X

Thanks hun.....good to know! ......I am in two minds about Doppler......with the scare this week my OH was desperately trying to get one before we had the scan just so we had some idea but couldn't! .....I will c how I get on this week coming- seeing consultant and midwife.....if I'm still worrying a lot we may take the plunge and get one! Xx

In my opinion, if you got to 16 + weeks without the doppler and can feel baby moving I don't think I would buy one now unless you are in desperate need of reassurance ( I suppose we always are ha ha). You will hear heartbeat this week with midwife and I think that you will be getting more regular movements soon.

See how you feel this week hun, and if you think it is needed obviously get one

I'm coming over to join, I'm 14 weeks tomorrow.

My midwife refuses to do the Doppler and listen to the heart beat she said it's not required anymore. We were gutted.

Mummy bear - don't think they listen til after 16 weeks....only hears mine today for first time! U should def question her on that again coz I'm sure they should do it!!! X

Omg! I was just about do a really big sneeze when baby gave me a massive kick and stopped me in my tracks! Crazy! Loving feeling some stronger movements

She was very adamant that they do not listen to the hear beat as the guidelines were changed. Even next time we go. She did contstanlty talk about her retirement too, she is hopeless
