Hi girls!

Well I randomly started the day throwing up! 19 weeks tomorrow and thought I was past it.....but no!!!..... Had headache too and not felt great

Zoe- glad your appt went well!

Good luck for scans Weezy and mummy_midwife.....I hope u r feeling a bit more energy soon!

V excited for up coming pinks and blues! 15 days til mine! Still feels ages but I know its not!

I got newborn cuddles with my best friends little one last night- so lovely! Forget how tiny they are- even tho she was over 9lb!! So happy she had her safely- turns out her labour ( as the hospital classify it- once past 4cm) was 1 hour 5 mins!! How nice would that be?! Xx

Hey lovely, not good you are not feeling great today, keep an eye on it though and if headache doesn't resolve with paracetamol etc I would get your BP checked just to be sure, although most blood pressure issues don't start til 20 weeks hope it is just one of those random things and you are ok soon.

Nice you got cuddles my labour with Emily was 1hr 11minutes so not bad , hoping for the same this time!

Yes hun- I am going to borrow my mums bp machine and check it anyway as I was a bit anxious about this! Hopefully it will be ok!

How r u doing today? Was thinking of u watching OBEM the other day thinking ' this is what she does day I'm day out! Amazing!'....... Don't know how u cope with the different characters and the patience u must have with everyone?! Xxx

That's good you are checking BP, just to make sure it is nothing else, let us know how you get on.

I am ok thanks, just a bit exhausted. Had a busy morning properly clothes shopping since finding out I was pregnant, I am obsessed with buying baby girls sleepsuits, also got a few maternity things I needed. By the end of the morning I was so exhausted and ready for lunch and a snooze, just as I got home I got a phone call from the school saying Emily had her finger trapped on school door and it looked quite bad... So to A&E we went , x rays etc but thankfully not broken, just bruised and swollen... Now all is ok I can feel the tiredness coming back, hopefully DH will be home soon and I can just chill, I need a glass of wine... Miss my wine so much, just another 22 weeks and I will have a glass or 2 !!

Job wise it can be changeling at times to deal with the different characters, there is always so many emotions in each room and at times reasoning is just impossible. More than the women, is their mums and sometimes partners that tend to test my patience ; but if I put myself in their shoes it helps me to keep myself calm and carry on

A couple of queries ladies....for the last few days intermittently it has felt like my heart is beating too fast or skipping a beat occasionally, more racing than anything to be honest, is this normal?

What scan date is best to go by - 12 weeks exactly was 4th August, 13 + 6 scan was 2nd August so I have been going by 2nd August, midwife said to go by 12 week scan which would be in my favour as if due on 4th August I would qualify for some maternity leave pay but 2nd August would leave me out by 2 days, should I speak to mw again?

Well I couldn't find my mums bp machine and they r away on holiday and no phone signal! Grrr!..... I don't have the headache anymore and never took anything for it either. Listened on to bubs tonight and sounded normal!..... I will get hold of my mum and find out where machine is coz I still wanna check for piece of mind.......really hope it is nothing- can't handle early onset pre eclampsia with everything else that's happened :-/

Donnah I would stick with the earlier scan one personally- it goes in your favour so just stick with it!
I think some ladies do get palpitations in pregnancy but good to go get checked out- it is a bit scary xxx

Mum2b, it is unlikely you have pregnancy induced hypertension as it is a bit early for it and the fact the headache has resolved with no meds and you feel better etc I wouldn't worry anymore hun , headaches are unfortunately common in pregnancy, I have had my fair share, had migraines too which are accompanied by vomiting so more likely that you had something like that? Don't worry about it, it has resolved if you are worried though just get to your GP surgery and maybe ask the nurse to take bp for you?

Donnah, I have always had palpitations when I am pregnant, I almost have to catch my breath when it happens but it resolves when babies are born, get yourself checked if you are worried though.
I would always go with an earlier scan as it is more accurate the earlier you do them (as accurate as scans can be)

I had headaches every morning last week and I noticed a pattern, and decided I must be dehydrated. So I've kept a glass of water by the bed and don't seem to have had one since. Blood pressure had crossed my mind but I thought best to rule out the other things first xx

Grrrrrrrr I'm angry tonight and cried all the way on the drive home after doing my show. My sis in law to be rung up to see if she could stop with us to tomorrow night for 2 nights. OH said it no, wasn't a good week as I in a show each night and he's rehearsing every night for his next week, so we're not in till late each night. They basically had an argument and he caved, so now she's stopping.

She's done this to us before with a days notice, when she turned up she insisted on having some wine opened just for her (it was when I was last pg so wasn't drinking). We drove up to Aberdeen last year for her husbands 60th and when we got there she insisted we ferry her friends around (we had to stop in a hotel as she'd given spare rooms to her friends). She's sooo rude and never seems to consider my opinion in it all. I'm very tempted to speak my mind tomorrow night when I get in late, but I don't to want to cause a ruction. Any advice, am I overacting due to hormones?

Mummy_midwife- thanks hun! Mum has told me exactly where bp machine is now so I will ho find it today and check it to put my mind at rest! Hope im not sick again this morning :-/ Feel completely shattered this week too!

Kaffee- that sucks! I would b angry too hun but u r in a tough position :-/ I would maybe just b polite but any requests on top of just giving her a bed for the night I would greet with a 'I'm sorry but I'm too tired/feel rough/need to lie down' coz of the pregnancy, and just overplay it as an excuse not to b very hospitable?! You've got a lot on right now- she can't just invite herself to stay and expect your place to b like a b and b!! Any complaints and u give her the number to the nearest premier inn!!! Xxx

Thanks hun- I have a drink with me every night and drink through the night when u wake up.......I still have a cold so feel muzzy headed with that I think xx

Hello sorry to do rudely intrude i have a quick question and i think you girls are most likely to know the answer! any of you get crampy around week 6? It happens about 2pm for a few hours until I get home and rest. There are a few thoughts on my head 1, I'm just shattered and my body is trying to tell me that 2, my pants are too tight lol 3, ibs or the thought I'm most worried about that something is wrong. This is the point things started to go wrong for me last time but I'm not sure what's normal and what isn't lol. My nausea had subsided a bit but my boobs are freaking huge lol.

Glad your BP was ok mum2b but your right, always something to worry about!!
Eryinera, I had period like cramping from 5-11 wks almost constantly. Doctor told me it only becomes a concern if the cramping is incredibly painful and or is accompanied with a bleed.
Ring the docs or MW though they may send you to the EPU to give you reassurance xxx

So most definitely a little GIRL, lovely scan we really had a great bonding time and we are getting our DVD and more pictures sent through in the post, I can now keep all the baby girls clothes I bought and keep dreaming pink

Mum2b, glad your BP was ok and that has put your mind at rest, surely that's all the worrying done, now to enjoy your pregnancy

Awwwww yay a girl only a week til I find out and hubby admitted tonight he wouldn't mind a girl!!! Yay!!!! Don't know what I'm going to do if it turns out to be a boy :-/

So we went to mamas & papas today - bought a Quinny Zapp, maxi cosi car seat & a beautiful cot bed & changing table set. Very happy. And glad we've got some of the main bits out of the way!! Exciting!
