Night owl I would have took the sweep haha! But either way baby be here soon. I agree I'm good mentally but completely in denial I am having a baby next week! Got a week of tidying the house and sorting things out for the kids xxx

Oh I know I’m kicking myself a bit for not taking the sweep now you know, I feel like baby girl has gone a bit quiet tonight too in terms of movement, hopefully she picks up again tomorrow so I don’t have to worry and go for the monitoring, I think I will phone the midwife towards the end of this week and ask for the sweep on mon, she said if I want it done early next week I can have it xx

She has picked up again now that I’ve gone and laid down! Yeah I’ve had a busy few days me and the OH decided to go and get a ferry across the Mersey on Sunday and see the u-boat story thing, which was more his idea then mine ha ha then we walked round town for hours shopping, which was more my idea then OHs, getting him back for the u-boat story and I just didn’t stop yesterday and today either, definitely having a lazy day tomorrow just gonna lie in bed and watch a film, gonna take it easy for the rest of the week x

Haha I have never been to it myself! They haven't half hiked up the price on the ferry now though I was looking at getting the ferry over at Christmas to the ice festival with the kids and it was cheaper to drive a d pay parking!!!
Sounds like you have been super busy! This was the same for me over the weekend when I ended up going in I hadn't stopped. I had my baby shower with some friends in the florist Saturday day and then had a 40th that night. He was super quiet Sunday then I think I just over did it. Like I said he hasn't stopped since. But keep an eye and always get checked if your not happy. I'm going to do the same today and have a pj day with kids (it's half term) and here I am awake again

I’m feeling ok mentally maybe cos I’m in denial a bit that all of this is actually happening but physically though I am getting fed up, do you know if baby is engaged for you yet? I bet you breeze through the last few weeks and labour! X

Yep, he was engaged a few weeks ago and my new midwife said he is well and truly engaged and 2/5ths of the way down - there is probably a technical way of saying it

I cant believe they offered you a sweep - i never knew they would do that before your due date.

I wonder who will have their baby first out of you and i x

I know I can’t believe I was offered one, just goes to show how different it all is depending on where you are based!
Are you getting pressure feeling low down? Sometimes I feel like her hand or head or something is against my cervix and about to pop out but it’s more irritation then pressure, hoping it’s a good sign anyway, oooh I know it will be exciting to see who goes first, I can’t imagine my little lady is going to arrive on time though I just get the feeling she will be a week or so late xx

Ah I went to the florist last week, had never been before, it was lovely, had a really nice non alcoholic cocktail just went with a few friends and got some lovely gifts from them including an Ewan the dream sheep, it’s like a little teddy which plays soothing womb music ha ha, ah enjoy your pj day hun hope you manage to get some decent rest x

More like a pressure, like hes just head standing on my cervix continually, so long walks are a no go as my bladder gets very full very quickly

Well, they do say the first ones generally come later, although the stories i have heard this is also a load of rubbish

My oh thinks a week later and i say 4 days, just as long as he isnt early, so i can paint my ensuite, i will be happy x

Aww glad your doing well!
My planned section is a week today. Never had a planned one before but your comment gives me hope that it's not too bad. I have started getting myself really worked up over it. Rest up and just take it easy your bound to be sore and the emotions are normal, don't expect too much of yourself. Are you home from hospital? Xxx

Oh the florist was beautiful 1st time I had been too. We ate upstairs and had drinks, I stuck to diet coke but all my friends got stuck into the cocktails I was a tad jealous.
Aaah yes I have seen the ewan sheep I always wanted one for my 4th and dropped hints about them but my work friends got me something similar but it was an owl.
Had another pj day today I have had a fairly busy week feel like I have gone into panic mode and stressing sorting house and kids out. Needless to say I am wiped out today, hubby's just got home so ordered a take out.
How is everyone else feeling? Xxx

My last section was an emergency that ended up in neonatal so I hadn't had a planned one either.
It's lovely quite honestly! There was 6 of us booked in, sat in the waiting room chatting until we were called in 1 by 1. Walked down to theatre, the staff were really relaxed and we all chatted throughout then I was able to have my mom visit in recovery before I went to the ward.

I’m thinking mine is gonna be a week later too, I know 3 people who’ve had their first baby this year, 1 of them 7 days late, 1 was 10 days late, and 1 had to get induced at 14 days late as the baby was just not coming out on his own free will! The induction ended in a c-section, of 4 other people I know who got induced 3 ended in c-section, it seems to be more common for c-section to be needed following being induced, I seen my hospital are actually doing a clinical trial to see if reducing inductions reduces the emergency section rate, so I am keen not to get induced although if I did need a c section for any reason I wouldn’t have a problem with it at all, just want her to get here safely!
Have you been having any twinges or braxton hicks or anything?
Been having a bit of shooting pains around my cervix, achy period pain on and off mostly overnight and 1 proper braxton hicks - my whole tummy tightened up and it hurt a bit lol, other then that though no real signs yet, not had a show or lost plug or anything xx

Ha yeah I’m totally ready for a cocktail now to be honest, been craving a nice cold glass of wine with the weather starting to turn nice! Xx

Don't be worrying about being induced just go in with an open mind. You hear so many stories of this and that. I was induced with all of mine and the first 3 were a dream and all vaginal deliveries with no complications. I never had an epidural just gas and air and pethidine with them all. Yes number 4 was an emergency section but for reasons not related to induction. So it's not all bad. I think as long as baby gets here safely it's doesn't matter what way they enter the world xxx

Yeah I’ve been a bit sore too, just achy like period type pains but no real signs yet, I can’t see her being here by her due date! I might go for the sweep this week, eek! Don’t feel like I’ve relaxed all that much though since going on mat leave so I’m definitely going to have a lazy day tomorrow just watching tele and reading my book! What’s the plan for you now MM you might have mentioned but are you getting a scheduled section or induction? Xx

I have a planned section this Friday.... Eeeek!!! They examined me last week to see if they thought it was possible to brake my waters but my cervix was tight shut! It won't budge now this is why I have had so many full inductions with pessaries etc. So got my pre op on weds I have already signed my consent form so 4 more day's.
Oh defo go for your sweep and see what's going on you never know it might get things moving for you xxx
