Anyone else testing in January?

Hi everyone

I hope it's okay to join. My partner and I are trying to have another baby. My peak was 7th/8th January so I think I am about 7dpo ? This is our first month of trying for this baby so I am trying not to get my hopes up too much, but I like the thought of us all being able to support each other and thought I would join the forum.

Welcome!!! Good luck to you both! Did you do anything in particular this month while trying? Xxx

@Caseyh, Have they done a full blood screen of your hormones? I used OTC progesterone cream last cycle, I did fall pregnant and when tests didn’t progress I then discontinued it.

@flowerbomb, I’ll be 36 in March

@Maza1993, No way?! I was absolutely sure that was a early positive. :(

@ss1324, Welcome to the thread. When would you like me to add your testing date as? Good luck.

@Littleperson ,
Thank you :) I tried the clear blue ovulation kits this month. That gave me my peak dates. My fingers are crossed. I think I'm about 7dpo. I dont hold out a lot of hope this month as I have only just came off the pill.

@RainbowMama
Thank you, I think my testing date is around the 22nd January.

Do any of you ladies have kids already ?x

@RainbowMama I have done a lot of “googling” in regards to having progesterone assessed and I get a vibe it’s quite unreliable. I have also heard a mixed bag about progesterone supplementation during the luteal phase, though I’m not unwilling to try. Frankly I’d dance around a bond fire if it was possible that it could help. When I asked my doctor, she literally never responded. My GP said progesterone was mostly for menopausal women but she’s just a GP. I know I can get it over the counter, but I’m afraid it might throw my cycle off even worse. I’d love to hear my doc say “go for it” even if it’s hocus pocus.

My doc has basically said, it’s either polyps, or it’s “just you”. So if it’s not polyps, I’m going to be pressing next steps whether that be a hormone check or a fertility doctor or both.

@RainbowMama it’s so hard to stop pretending like I know all the answers. To some extent, I think I ought to trust doctors, especially when I have heard from SO MANY women that their doctors are not worried about luteal phase spotting (if it’s not a polyp or something more sinister already). I need to trust and believe in these professionals. And again, who the heck knows how many women have funky spotting before a period and fall pregnant. They just don’t feel the need to post up about it cuz it was maybe, not an issue for them getting pregnant. I’m rationalizing I know. But a friend said to me today that feelings are not facts and it’s true. I may feel like I have all the answers but I didn’t go to med school. And google is a terrible place to learn. I’m mostly trying to talk myself off a cliff with this post.

Oh god I’m really trying hard not to get my hopes up but my nipples have been sensitive/sore/tingling all day! I think I’m 6dpo and negative test but that’s to be expected at this stage! I’m going to be so disappointed if this isn’t my month because I just have such a feeling that it is and I don’t often feel that way!
When I fell pregnant in 2019 (ended in miscarriage) I got my first faint positive 8dpo and the boobs were the only symptom I had then! Pleeeease let this be it!!!
Keeping my fingers crossed for you

@flowerbomb it definitely looks like a good faint line if that makes sense ? Like a strong faint. I'd you do another in the morning or even the following day I reckon that line will be much stronger. I really think it's a positive test.

When i was pregnant with my first, I was convinced I was pregnant. I actually spent about 140 pounds on tests and my partner at the time thought I was going crazy. I seen a faint line that was barely even visible. Everyone I showed all thought it was negative. It was indeed positive and the reason it was so faint was because my HCG levels were lower than average. The hospital had to observe them.

I will test again in the morning.
The only reason i took a test tonight was to check before I had a drink.
I'm now not having a drink haha
Finhers crossed for the mornings test x

Haha it is a lovely surprise !! My fingers are crossed for you tomorrow but I really think its positive :) would you like a boy or a girl ?x

I would say thats a positive test flowerbomb. Ive had some evaporation lines in the past but thats too dark to be one. How many dpo are you?

I really hope so.
I've no idea. I came off the mini pill at the beginning of December and I've not had a period yet. I've been concerned that I've not ovulated because I've not had any signs of it. Xx
