Do we all need to have GTT? My midwife hasn't mentioned it to me.

Laura, hope you enjoyed your sleep last night back in your bed! Must be lovely to have it back.

We tried to buy those newborn nappies from ASDA too but we ordered them through click and collect and they had run out so they 'substituted' them for a pack with half the amount of nappies and tried to charge us the same price! Think we might try Tesco!

Wow, a June baby is here?! Not long to go girls!!

Lacey, not sure I'll be able to help/advise but I'll pop over and read your thread. Hope all is ok.

xx

I didn't have to have GTT in my first pregnancy it's only because my mam was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes recently that I had to have it. So it's mainly of there is diabetes in the family I think

GTTs are mostly done because of high BMI, history of diabetes in the family, or bloods or urine showing high sugar levels.

Gestational diabetes can be dangerous if it's not managed, but it's one of those things that typically goes away after birth, and can be managed easily with a little since for the last ten weeks-ish of pregnancy.

I have no diabetes in the family, and my BMI is well in normal range, but at my last scan, they decided my fluid levels are quite high, so decided to bump me straight to 12 hour fasting GTT.

Lovely.

If you're lucky, they do the mini-test first, find you're fine, and you get to skip the 12 hour fasting test.

If you're really lucky, they don't think you're at risk and you don't have either test at all xx

It was amazing to be back in bed kwarbee didn't want to get up this morning but had to as electricians were here again at 8am

Hope your all ok today ladies
It's lovely and sunny here today can't wait to go out to shops
We unfortunately only have one car at the moment as mine broke down :( something else that needs fixing...sigh x

On the GTT front I had it done twice last pregnancy and if I have sugar in my urine again next time I see midwife I've got to have it done again :(
Need to cut down on sugar x

"Hi, you're pregnant, and now crave everything under the sun, and need to eat plenty to keep baby growing, oh but you can't eat eggsteakfishpatelivercheesesugarsaltfatcaffeinedairy have fun :D "

:wall2:

Going in the garden soon I think to plant some of my plants. Attempted potty training with DD got as far as explaining she's to big for nappies and she's just had a melt down :(

Ah, I see. That's why it hasn't been mentioned to me. Fingers crossed it won't be! I'm high risk for pre-eclampsia due to a family history so have to take aspirin for that xx

So whwn MW.booked me in for my next appt she said "oooo 31wks, will be single digit countdown then" not gunna lie.- shit myself a little. Im having a baby!im going to be a mum! What the actual!!

claire2602 that made me lol I thought that tho when i wrote down my next appointment on my calendar. I already have two children but i'm still shitting myself!!! Not only about being a Mum to a baby, 4 year old and 6 year old but that fact i know exactly where this baby is gonna have to come out of me!!!!!

That made me giggle Claire-haha!! Love it!! I'm shattered today! Also think I caught the sun whilst on playground duty this afternoon!! Baby has been very active this evening. I think he/she is trying to bury their head into my hip bone-that's what it feels like anyway!! I love it and smile every time I feel movement :-) OH came back from the shops today and told me about all the deals they have at asda and morrisons at the moment. Haha. Telling me that we should get all the bargains now whilst we can! It's a shame we don't have anywhere to put it all!xx

I know what you mean, I want to stock up on nappies and wipes, but with the move coming up it just doesn't seem practical - although not quite as bad as it is for you twink!

We have seen all those deals too, but I am scared to stock up, what if baby doesnt like a particular nappy/wipes brand and we have 100s of those? :/

I've tried to make the most of the deals without buying too many of the same brand. Gone for Pampers for nappies and will buy some Aldi ones as have heard such good things about them. As you say, we won't know if they suit until baby is here though! xx

Also my hubby said to me this morning...there will be more baby events at the shops after baby comes! I have the need to have everything I might possibly need and lots of it!! We have two packs of pampers and there packs of naty ones (we both have sensitive skin and these have no bleach or palstics in them etc!) might be crap...

I thought that too. I'm tempted to buy as though these are the only baby events that will ever happen  xx

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Every time I go out I feel a need to buy something...anything baby related!

With DD we only bought pampers and lots of them as OH had discount when he worked there and she was fine with them I will be doing the same this time round apart from he doesn't work there anymore lol. So far I've a box of 12 pampers new baby sensitive wipes and a box of 72 pampers newborn nappies size 1. When my boots coupon comes for the changing bag I'm going to get a pack of the new pampers sensitive nappies.

Went to asda and bought another 2 rompers oooops I'm slowly building a collection.
I want to buy a starter pack of aptamil the ones with pre sterilised bottles and teats but unsure when to get them hmmm

Before I forget ladies do you all know about the private girls room on here ??? You can only access it after so many posts would be nice to revive it
