~***September Mummies***~

Hey ladies hope you're all well. I can't keep up witybthisbthread but do read but can't find the time to answer personally to all of you in replies so I don't!! I love hearing about how everyone is getting on though :) I will try and be more vocal :):)

Just a quickie, I don't have a bump buddy to so my labour thread, anyone interested?

Amy xx

I didn't realise you were another Amy, great name ;-) I think we've got about 3 or 4 Amys on this thread now! I would've also volunteered to do your labour thread if bex hadn't beaten me to it lol!

I actually don't have anyone to do my labour thread either, sob sob! My bump buddy is busy with her new babba and her other buddy's labour thread I think.

Love the picture Kim!

As for the wage thing I did think about calling her but I know she'd still fob me off even over the phone and say she'll get back to me or whatever and then she never will. Unfortunately we are HR so there's no one else I can go to except maybe my boss's boss but she said she'd already asked him and he thinks its right too. Plus those two are thick as thieves so what one says the other will most likely agree with. Ugh, I'd kick up more of a fuss but I have to work with these people and we're a small close team so I don't want to fall out with her, we normally get on well. Part of me thinks just leave it, its not worth me getting stressed out over but the other part thinks 'grrrrrrrr'!

I went for my walk in the end. It was nice because just as I was going OH turned up so he came with me. He does these strange shifts sometimes where they just do training and once the training is finished they get to come home whether they've been there 8 hours or 2! They still get paid a full day though hehe! Actually I think I need to work where he does lol instead of my stupid job.

Currently sitting back on my ball. Getting Braxton hicks but not much else. It does hurt when baby moves though, feels like she's really grinding on my cervix. Come on baby, come out!!

Xxx

If it's easier for you two do do each others I don't mind xxx

God that must be so frustrating Ammdaz, I hate it when I know something's wrong and people are telling me its right.

Lovely picture Kim, that dog is very cute. How's Sammy doing these days?

Glad you're having a happy day Bex, hopefully things will start to progress for you :-) 5 days over and counting can't be fun.
I've started to think I'll go over now, just cause I'm so fed up. I'm convinced she's gone back to back too cause her movements are much smaller than they were. Got midwife tomorrow so hopefully she's better than my last one and actually tells me something.

X

If they don't tell you Hayley make sure you ask! Think they think we just aren't bothered sometimes!

Sammy's doing ok, his movements have got pretty clumsy again so have phoned the vets for our MRI referral. They've said they're usually pretty quick so we'll just have to rearrange!

Has anyone been given the green book of birth to five?

Just been having a good read through it and seems quite informative. It does say NHS Wales though so you might not all get it I suppose :-/

They stopped giving them out in England!! I have one as my friend who is a nurse got me one from a secret stash! X

I will do Kim, I asked the midwife last week but we all remember how useless she was! She's in your pelvis..... Pfffft! I've hit to stop being so mad about her haha.

Ahh poor Sammy, I'm interested to know what's causing it, it's baffling.

Does anyone know much about the lifetime of breast milk? Like it you express how long before you have to use it? I know you can freeze it for 6 months but not sure about fresh stuff. Inflicting info from midwives shocker! I only know that formula has to be used within 2 hours but not got a clue on breast milk x

I would say a day in the fridge? I don't really know though. Just going on what I've heard.

x

Yeah well I was told 24 hrs out of fridge but 5 days if refrigerated straight away. I hate how there's so many different answers for everything x

hopefully our instincts will be awesome for these things. tbh expressing isn't recommended unless necessary at first anyway.

Done 3 days at work, 2 to go! How do people work right up to their due dates?! I'm absolutely knackered and I've had 6 weeks off before this. I ache in places I didn't know it was possible to ache haha. Can't wait to finish on Friday for at least 7 months!!

Hope you're all doing well, these last few weeks seem to really be dragging for me :-(

I think I've still got that book somewhere from when I had DS but yeah they don't give them out anymore - cutbacks! Shame because they are quite good at telling you the basics.

I think breast milk is supposed to last a good few days in the fridge. As long as it smells fresh then it is ok, you can tell when it's gone off!

BeeSmall I can't imagine how you're still managing to work! I hope the next two days go quickly for you.

DS is home now, he had a good day and is full of beans :-) he came out smiling so that's got to be a good sign!

I've got backache and more Braxton hicks, I so wish it would develop into something but I'm not holding out much hope! I was in labour by this stage with DS, aren't second babies supposed to come sooner?!!

Xxx

Eurgh working at 38 weeks must be horrible beesmall!!!! Roll on Friday!

Im glad school went well for your DS ammdaz, that's a weight off your mind. You're doing better than me with backache, I get it but in a muscular way, not labour related I'm sure, and sciatica.

Going to try and walk to shop with hubby now, waited for him as, then if it's too much he can help me back! Would hate to get stuck on my own limping about! Ha.

Had a very chilled day but it's made me tired, back to doing things tomorrow I think.

Xx

My green book says 5 days in the fridge - but don't put it in the door! 2 weeks in freezer compartment of fridge and 6 months in the freezer.

Glad your little boy enjoyed school Ammdaz. The reception children looked so tiny at school today, they were gorgeous in their little uniforms.

I'm having a nice easy week at work, getting in at 8:30 and leaving at 4 which would never happen normally. Obviously haven't got my own class either so all I'm doing is laminating, trimming and sticking etc. for other people. It's just the long day that I'm finding hard, even though I'm sitting down for all of it. Roll on Friday night x

So weird not going back to school, I'm a year two teacher/senco and finding it hard to let go lol!! Popped in this pm with my lO and he loved exploring the school (no kids in just inset)
Ammdaz glad your lO enjoyed the day.
Shall we do each others labour threads then as umbongo suggested? (Thanks for the offer umbongo :). ) might be easier to do each others, shall I pm you?
I take it you're an Amy too then?!!

Beesmall - u didn't want to start your mat leave on sept 1st? Suppose every penny counts yeah?

X

Yeah my husband only gets statutory pay for his paternity leave which is a big drop in wage so decided that if I could do a week at work that'd make up for it a bit and we wouldn't be quite so skint so soon!! Also knew this week would be a nice easy one with 2 days of inset and just helping out so wouldn't be too bad x

Well I went for a walk to the shop with hubby. It's so hot today! Boiling. Had to have a shower afterwards as, was sweaty and my discharge went crazy.
I think Saturday is still my prediction, after sweep on Friday. Fx!

xx
