Anomaly scan tomorrow - really hope baby's cooperating and we can find out the gender. Fingers crossed!

Ooh, good luck for tomorrow. I’m itching to find out the gender of my baby. I had a letter in the post today, I got so excited that it was my 20 week scan date but it was just my date for the glucose test
Very tempted to book a private scan at 17 weeks but I just can’t afford it right now.

Good luck for your scan tomorrow! Ours is next Thursday! We paid for a private sexing scan which is this Thursday hehe x

Aww no, how disappointing. Hopefully yours will come through soon. Have you had a look on Groupon? One place local to me was doing scans 50% off, hopefully there might be one in your area doing an offer. x

I wonder about the whole Anti-D thing as this is my third, everything seems to be more chilled now - first one was a major panic every time I was hit (hard) in the bump I'd have a long ole hospital visit, motoring in and injections! (I have a very funny story about a dog that paw punched me right in the bump!) Second was only given the injection after birth. Third I've only been advised to bother to come in at all, if I have a bleed.

I think thing are settling down here, finally - I have a consultant appointment tomorrow, which I'm not looking forward too!

I think my sickness is settling down a bit in the mornings but still quite nauseous through the day, especially in the evenings. Finally feeling the baba move around a bit now too, they were moving around a lot during my dating scan and the sonographer asked if I could feel anything. She said she’d be surprised if I couldn’t as the baby was moving so much that she was finding it hard to do all of her checks.

The cheapest I could find was £30 which I know is very cheap but it’s about 40 mins away from me and I don’t drive so it would cost a pretty penny to get there and back too. My partner doesn’t want to know the gender but he understands that I need to know to prepare myself. She’s going to be at the next scan but wants to leave the room when they tell me the gender and then has asked me to keep it a secret until the birth

I’ve just been looking at gender scans. I don’t think I can wait until my anomaly scan on 24th May, seems so far away. Xx

The cheapest I could find was £30 which I know is very cheap but it’s about 40 mins away from me and I don’t drive so it would cost a pretty penny to get there and back too. That's a huge secret to keep, but kudos to you two for working it out that way though! That's such a shame, though ultimately these weeks go by so fast and you will be at your next scan before you know it. x

Hi all,
Haven't been on in while as I've been away, but not much new to report here. Started to feel some little flutters in the last few days which is amazing but had to swap to maternity jeans already as i seem to be getting big much quicker than with my first.
Going to see the consultant on friday so finally get to discuss about what extra scans and things I'll be getting this pregnancy. It's all starting to hit home now, very nerve wracking!

It definitely starts to get real when you feel flutters and movements, as if several positive pregnancy tests weren't enough haha. Good luck on Friday. x

That's disappointing, but it's hard to justify some of the prices when you already have plenty of other stuff to buy. x

I went for my anomaly scan today but unfortunately baby had its back arched in an awkward position, and due to my smaller frame they just couldn't get it in the right position to do their checks or find out the gender. So will hopefully be going back next week!

Hi all,
Hope all doing good. I feel fibroid pain at worse. The doctor prescribed Tylenol and antibiotic. Anyone does have any experience with fibroids. And the pills are ok to take during pregnancy? And the pain is so bad, I cannot even walk. Baby is ok in the scan and I can feel the movements too. It is the 18th week and 4 days.

Also, I work in Recruitment and half office are sick and I'm paranoid it will harm me or baby? Am I being dramatic? If a cold is safe for me in ok but dont want anything to harm either of us. Advice please!

I’m not feeling anything yet but I’m only 15 weeks so hoping I will soon. I don’t think any harm will come from being around sick people. I work in NICU so around a lot of infections and stuff but there’s only a couple of baby’s that I can’t look after, as if you get what they have in pregnancy it can be harmful to baby. Very unlikely to come across that outside of a hospital though. I know in pregnancy you’re immune system is lower though as you pass everything on to baby. Very unlikely you’ll catch anything that will be a problem though

Sorry your little one wasn't playing nicely for your scan, but I suppose it's nice to know you'll see them again next week.

I suppose we'll start to find out some genders soon! I'm staying firmly team yellow though, I love a surprise!
