***September 2018 Mummies***

Thanks ladies, I didn’t realise it would get me out of it. I will call the jury service number today and let them know - hopefully it will postpone the whole thing or at least the day! I really don’t want to miss it!

It is compulsory so you will have to do it again at some point, but there are valid reasons for not having to commit to the dates given...pregnancy and associated appointments are definitely a valid reason.

It would be interesting to know what they said though. Xx

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is well!

I had a CVS last Saturday (fortunately the preliminary results are great) and I had a little bleed on Wednesday so I'm on bedrest and antibiotics and progesterone on top of the iron, folic acid and magnesium I'm already taking! Fun times for me, haha, but as long as bubs is ok I'm ok.

On a funny note, I finally told my 8-year old that she'll get a sister soon and she looks at me all serious and says no mom, you just ate too much!!

I emailed them and they replied asking when in the next 12 months would be more convenient for me so I said 2019!! Just waiting for 100% confirmation so fingers crossed!!

Thanks for the heads up ladies!!

Jumping over to Tri 2 now, I’m 13+2. Had a lovely week away but went back to work today and found it so tiring. I’m still getting nausea all day long and my back is really starting to hurt when I’m stood up for too long. I work in retail so I’m hoping when it’s busy in the summer and my belly is huge that my manager will allow me to sit in a stool behind the desk instead of walking around the shop all day haha. I have my nhs dating scan next week but I’ll be 14 weeks by then. So excited to see my baba after my private can at 10 weeks. Looking forward to when I can feel baba moving so I know that they’re okay. My anxiety is through the roof not knowing if everything is going as it should!

Hahaa, well done. Look into it, they may have to cover childcare costs for you. Xx

You need to get a new risk assessment done by them. To be honest they should do it anyway when you get your MatB1 form. They can't make you stand and walk around all day. Again, look into it. We are heavily protected as pregnant ladies! Xx

Hi all,

I’m 14 weeks today so definitely in second trimester now :) I got my letter from the combined scan yesterday and results are low risk for downs & Edwards so that’s good. I have a very small bump now as well, towards he end of my shift I usually feel quite uncomfortable and restricted though. I need to get a new uniform sorted soon I think. My sickness is also finally easing off and I now only have to take my anti sickness tablet once a day - usually in the evening as that’s when it’s worse.

Hope everyone’s feeling ok

Hi, I'm in Tri 2 now too. Still in some of my clothes tho definitely getting tighter. Been wearing loose tops for work as I haven't told anyone. Will have to tell them very soon though still a bit nervous. Will seem strange announcing it. Almost afraid of jinxing it. Anyone else feel like this?

I'm 26 weeks today and can still wear my normal jeans....I just can't zip them all the way up so I use a hair band, lol. Works perfectly and saves on maternity wear. I'm quite proud of myself for not piling on so much weight that they won't go over my arse anymore, lol

Most of my normal clothes are fine especially leggings etc but jeans become uncomfortable as the day goes on. I had to tell my work quite early as I work in the neonatal intensive care unit and there’s some baby’s that you can’t look after when pregnant so I found it easier to just tell everyone. My work uniform are the only clothes that I need in a different size really but it’s because they don’t really have much give in them! At the start of my shift it’s fine and not really noticeable but by the end I’m so uncomfortable where my uniform is restricting me and bump becomes noticeable then.

This is my second so I'm definitely showing sooner. I didn't tell work until I was 24wks last time. No chance of that this time. My clothes are tighter by hometime too but so far they're ok. I'm more worried about how my tops fit incase they clearly show a bit of belly I never had before.
Was going to say weeks ago in work but still haven't. Now I'm thinking 2more days and then I'm off for a week....could just tell them when I get back (tho they might see for themselves by then which would be more embarrassing)! My bosses are male and have made it clear that maternity is an inconvenience so I know it won't be received well which I don't like as I waited so long for this baby.

Hope everyone is alright, and welcome to everyone who's jumped across to trimester 2 now! x

I can't believe I will be 20 weeks by the end of next week, time is going way too fast. Feel like I need to start looking at proper baby items soon!

Elven I can't believe you're almost 20 weeks!!! How quick has that gone?

Just had my dating scan, measured a day ahead so my due date is now Sept 26th. Couldn’t do the downs scan because baby was measuring over 14 weeks so I’ve been offered to go back for the blood test at 16 weeks. I have a massive fear of needles and I’m not sure if I can mentally deal with having another set of bloods taken (already have to have extra tests due to family medical history)
I was ready to have my blood taken today and I’m calm right now (still waiting for blood tests at this moment) but it takes me days to calm my self down enough to be anywhere near a needle.

Oh Lalaroo, I'm sorry they've put you off so much you missed the screening part of the scan. Well done for the bloods you've already done, is two weeks enough time to prepare for them again? The ladies who took my blood were very area of needle phobias and asked every time I've been if I'm okay with them etc. Could you take someone with you perhaps? Wonderful scan pic btw <3

I’m going to discuss it with my partner later but I’m sure I’ll be fine to do it. I wasn’t as bad as I usually am with needles today (although I did start crying before the nurse even touched me but it only took a few minutes for me to calm down compared to the usual 20+ minute meltdown) :oooo:
The nurse that took my bloods was gentle and she assured me that she’d be the one to take them again next time so hopefully I will be calmer.

You're completely right, it's flying by. I do love seeing everyone's weeks go up as and when they post, it's like a common shared mission in a way!

I have my anomaly scan next week as well, really hope baby's cooperating and we can find out the gender. Can't wait.
