*** November 2014 Mummies! ***

Kaa...
My breastfeeding attitude...is first 3 days v important for baby anything else is a bonus. I plan to have little targets and 3 days is my first target. I havent heard about the staying in hopsital but I would be surprised if thats true and it would put me off... but im sticking with a 3 day target for now.

I'm pretty much the same hun if it happens it happens just not wasting money on all the products until I know what's happening. If they try and keep me in I will discharge myself I mean what's the point of a health visitor I thought they came to check things like that!

If you're planning on breast feeding you shouldn't express and feed for about 3 weeks as it can confuse baby. I cant see them keeping you in hospital longer for breastfeeding as that would cost them extra money and take up valuable beds.

My belly button is changing too. Its a lot less deep than it used to be.

Hello everyone! So sorry I haven't been on here for a while, had a few crappy weeks but everything with me is back on track now! :-)
I've just found out last week I'm having a baby boy! Sooooooo excited!
Now then, I need to read the last few weeks of conversations with everyone to see what I've missed out on!
I hope everyone is ok! :-) xxx

Oh congratulations kelly on a boy! how exciting... do you have a scan pic?

Oh dear is it just me thats incontintant!!! how drepressing ;-0

Mellie my thoughts exactly but I've been told this by a few different ppl :-/ wonder if it's just a way of encouraging more breast feeding or something. Defo worth looking into I think.

Hey Kelly sorry to hear u haven't been great. But good to hear ur feeling bk on track. Yay a boy fab news. Any names yet?

Apple ur not alone I edited my post at last min to include I'm the same but u must have missed it at the time!! Xxx

Kaa... thats good to hear... I fear for what Im going to be like after the birth ;-/

Im always a lot moister down there recently but can't say ive noticed if ive been leaking or not.....pregnancy really isn't what the tv pretends it is! Ha

Hi, can I join this discussion. I'm dated the 16th November at the minute!! Got my anomaly scan on the 30th June can't wait...... Good to meet all the ladies!!

Kelly, congrats on finding out it's a boy! You haven't missed much from me, if you don't get round to reading back.

Applecrumble, I haven't had the pleasure of that yet, though I did worry when I had my bad cough and I coughed while starting to sit on the toilet and weed before I sat down. I thought it was the start of my Tena days, but fortunately it's held off. I think it can be hereditary as one of my friends is terrible for it since giving birth, her and her sisters and her mum all suffer from weak bladders after having children. Keep going with the pelvic floors - they can only help in the long run, even if they don't stop the problem entirely they're going to make post-birth recovery easier.

Gemma, welcome! Is this your first baby?

Kaa, my cousin's girlfriend recently had a baby, she's breastfeeding and went home the same day so perhaps it depends on the hospital, this was up in the North East. I don't mind staying over too much, but I'd prefer not to. I'm definitely going to try breastfeeding, hope I can manage it.

Instead of buying practical things, I've spent the evening Watch Listing cute babygrows and sleeping bags on ebay!

Is it really nerdy to want to make a spreadsheet of everything I need, including quantities and projected costs? I contemplated doing that this evening before getting onto ebay. My wife would have really taken the piss, she took the piss when I made a spreadsheet to compare egg-sharing IVF costs at different clinics. Apparently it is a really 'teacherish' thing to do!

Ah hahaha it must be as I have loads of spreadsheets for all sorts and was thinking of doing one for that same reason haha otherwise won't know what we need or have etc. Haha that's so funny I love it!

Welcome gemma :) are u finding out the sex?? Xxx

I have a spreadsheet of costs and one for baby stuff...in fact i have a programme as well, when things need to happen...appointments etc.

Welcome Gemma! :-)

Wow super organised. I have them for baby bits and have for finances but didn't think of appts what a good idea haha xx

Hi ladies!
I breastfed Lucy, I was kept in for two nights - but this could have been down to blood loss after a rough ride in labour. They do check your baby can latch on properly and this was good for me as Lucy wasn't too interested to start with. Although I was desperate to go home after the second night, it was actually a really good chance to get some rest. The minute we got home the visitors started and you just don't seem to have a break until it dies down. This time around I think I'd quite like one night in the hospital, just for some time to ourselves xx

Hope all you ladies are well!

Will try and catch up over the weekend! Currently trying to get odd jobs done around the home ready for baby - hubby says I'm nesting super early haha!

Kittycat thanks for that hun. My mum said see it as a positive for the same reasons u just stated haha.
Suppose will just have to see what happens really. :-/

Aw that's cute Katie.

Work today then off camping with 17 cub scouts tonight for the weekend so won't be on here at all. Wish me luck haha xx

I love spreadsheets...

Im kind of the person in our relationship that looks after finances.. my oh is rubbish. He doesnt spend moeny and has no debts but he does waste money. Hes just not savey with money. hes the kind of guy to not cancel home insurance on a property he left 2 years ago! where im the opposite, I also like to use vouchers and pay everything on cards that give money back. so im saving while he is wasting! sorry I am off on one!

Its one of my fears going on maternity, I dont know how it will work when he is the main breadwinner and I have to lose control of the finances..ahhhh

Kaa im kind of envious... I would love to be a girl guider or something like that. I loved girl guide camps when I was younger, so many fun activites.
Im guessing scouts is the same.

Hi all

Sorry not been on for a bit, as had a few worries, but all fine now.

Ended up staying overnight in hospital on Wednesday, as woke to real stabbing pains and a bleed - thought I was losing Taylor. They didn't know where bleed was coming from and had every monitor on me possible!. Kept in overnight for observation and on drip for hydration.

And we also got a scan and found out that.........

We are having a boy!!!!!

Told to rest for next couple of days, but wanted to come on to say I'm still here and will come on when I can.
