*** November 2014 Mummies! ***

Wow phoenix those scan pics are fab! Too cute x I am also due halloween and my scan is tomorrow. I am nervous and excited xx

I have consultant after scan and i am unsure of what happens? I have two daughters age 22 and nearly 19 and things have changed so much. I hope my pics are as good as yours they are the clearest i have seen. Did you drink plenty or? Xx

Applecrumble I have almost been in tears with it! Was getting so fed up I just felt like telling them all to pee off and do it on my own!

Got a phone call from docs today as well to say my iron and b12 still isn't picking up so got to have more tablets and bloods in 4 weeks and if that isn't any better then I need injections! This pregnancy really doesn't feel straight forward this time!

Hopefully my transfer won't take to long so I can get my new scan dates and see my boy again :-)

Right I've just updated the front page. I've gotten rid of the scan dates and the ultrasound pics as it's proving difficult to keep track of it all, it was a nice thought though! haha. Please let me know if I've missed any genders or anyone is team yellow that I've missed off or any updated due dates etc!!

In terms of baby, she's breech and keeps kicking me in the cervix. It really, really hurts :(! OH has been laughing at me, dancing and wiggling around, turning upside down or sticking my bum in the air and wiggling it to try and get her to move!! Nothing seems to work though haha.

Turns out my placenta is anterior. Which is really weird because I always find her heartbeat with ease with the doppler and felt kicks from 17 weeks! Strange indeed.

The scan was alright. They took me in for the actual checks alone and OH had to wait outside. They didn't put baby on screen until after all checks were done. She was a student midwife and had a qualified doctor checking everything she did. She only didn't check the heart as she wasn't very confident so the doctor checked and talked her through it. Then OH came in and the doctor showed us baby etc. Then they asked if I minded letting the student nurse have a go at checking her heart and offered to give me extra pictures. So I got 10 pics (2 the same so 9 really) when I'd only paid for 6 :). And the student midwife got to have a go and I saw the heart pumping in detail and stuff.

Yay Katie ur finally sorted out!! :)

Apple ur ticker says u only found out u were pregnant 7 days ago haha!!

Babyphoenix what a fab experience. Had my scan yesterday and was awful as they rushed me out didn't explain anything and I got one scrappy picture which they wanted 3 quid for a d it's not even that good my 12 week one is loads better. On this one it looks like a death eater is trying to suck out our baby's soul!!
Will upload it after so u understand ha.

Been feeling dreadful last few days went docs for blood test results and I'm anaemic so now on iron tablets (u were right Katie)
Just told my boss not coming in today. Dr told me last week to take a bit of time off to rest but I didn't coz had a final lesson observation for mynqt year but that's over now so it's all about caring for my baba.

But gutted to find I also have an anterior placenta n worry I will not feel anything for a long time :-( xx

Kaa, at least you know now why you're not feeling movements yet. That's such a shame about your scan, even if they're busy or whatever they should make you are clear as to how everything is in there.

Babyphoenix, your pictures are cool, you can see the skeleton on them! Lucky in that you got a student so they took longer to go through everything.

Augustus, I haven't had a consultant so don't know anything about it - do you know why you're seeing the consultant?

I'm off work today too, I've been feeling rough again, as the cold and cough have eased the headaches have started coming back. So I've got back into bed and just having a quick look on here before lying down with my eye mask on for a bit, to block out the glorious sunshine. All this lovely sunny weather makes me feel worse. The dog is pleased anyway, she's got someone to snuggle up with all day.

Kaa I have an anterior placenta although I'm pretty sure I felt baby slightly yesterday morning. I was lying in bed resting my cup of tea on my hip/bump and I dont think baby liked it! Haha think we're likely to feel tiny movements in other places but not right at the front like most people.

Ive been feeling awful this morning. Morning sickness seems to be back with a vengence. The toilets are quite a walk away from where im based in the warehouse. Didn't make it there in time, so instead I had to throw up in my water bottle. Thought my sickness had got better :(

Oh no mellie...still having sickness thats terrible, mine didnt stop till 16 weeks, so I do sympathise.

Katie...ha yes my ticket is wrong, its because I only got round to changing the due date last week...If only I had just found out... that would be awesome!

Pheonix, or generally why do they do the checks without the dad present? I have heard that before! Is every hospital different? and Pheonix did they talk you through the checks they were doing or was it silence untill OH came in?

Kaa I have an anterior placenta but it's quite high. I've been feeling movement since 17+3. And I feel it a lot now. So it doesn't necessarily mean anything. Also had no bother finding the heartbeat with doppler. Which is why I was so sure it wasn't on the front!!

I read somewhere that they do the checks without the dad present because there can be things wrong with the baby that are genetic. And the 'dad' is not the biological father and finding out these things can make him realise he's not. Although it seems awful, it's about protecting the mother and baby's safety and confidentiality and if this situation arises then she can decide what to say to him.

I don't know if that's the real and only reason but that's what I read somewhere. If they say that to me, I'm going to get some wisecrack in about hoping my wife doesn't find out it's not biologically hers! :D

I found out that we have a family gathering on Saturday and my wife's stepsiblings will be there who we hate. Her stepbrother and his wife are really full of themselves and overbearing. I know that they're going to ask loads of questions about where this baby has come from. My intended response is that the baby's parentage is for us and the baby to know and we don't wish to discuss it. However, I have a feeling my actual words will be more like 'it's none of your fucking business you fat *******'. And they're the type to start going on about babies and how they did everything perfectly and how I have to do this and that, and when I say I'm doing something I'll get told it's all wrong and I have to do it their way. I've managed to avoid them for 2 years now, so I suppose I was overdue a social gathering with them!

That seems daft because I imagine they would have waited until my OH came in to tell us whether there was anything wrong together. I'd hate to find out on my own. Surely they should cater towards to majority rather than towards cheating slags? lol

That's what I thought, so that's why I don't know if it's the real reason. It seems a bit unfair on all the partners of non-cheaters if that's the case. The only other thing I could think of is that it causes unnecessary distraction for the sonographer when they're trying to take crucial measurements.

That's the reason I thought. But I kept blabbing away to her while she was taking them and then remembered, whoops she's trying to concentrate.

Haha Apple it would be amazing in some ways then u could just be like ah look nearly half way already haha.

NJP we are so alike at times it's scary being off should do us good I hope I tested for a while then started cleaning going to have a shower now n then rest again. Decided to try to sort maternity pay stuff out like get my letter ready etc. I'm entitled to pay as still be employed by them in 15th week before edd (30th July) just not entitled to leave as contract terminates 31st August as only a temp one.

Think I will shop for maternity clothes on my husband's account in a min too hehe.

I am going away camping with cub scouts this weekend and have nothing to wear for it at all!! Xx

Ugh, camping with the scouts!

Do you know how you're getting your maternity pay, does it come as a lump sum or do you get it monthly? We've got a new payroll officer and she sent out a blanket email saying how she's here to handle all our queries, so I replied explaining my redundancy and maternity situation and what did she need me to do to get the money and I've had no reply for a week. Rude people annoy me.

To keep with the 'alikeness', I'm going to be doing some maternity shopping in a bit too! Went into the city yesterday after work to try stuff on so I know what size to order online. I bought one top and it makes my bump look so much better than my normal tops do. My normal tops make me look kind of fat, but the bump shaped ones make me look pregnant, so much better!

(I haven't done any cleaning though.)

I'm 20 weeks today - wooohoooo! Very excited by this although not entirely sure why this week is different to others! Got my scan on Friday, I am going to have to be very determined to stay team yellow as my husband is desperate to know! I told him that if he brought me a very sparkly eternity ring then I might consider finding out ;-) team yellow it will be!
Sounds like everyone is getting on well and starting to sort Mat B forms etc - suppose I better do it too! Hope everyone is well and not suffering in the sunshine xx

Haha where did u get it from, I'm shopping on very as hubby has account because we can't afford to go out spending loads at the min, asos have lovely stuff but I could only afford like 2 things max :(

Spoke to my union who then just passed me straight through to payroll, because my contract ends 31st august I'm still entitled to the pay and don't have to take it straight away in September (thankfully) even though not working in September I can still leave it til the day before edd to get it which I wouldn't do but I want to wait as long as poss so it lasts longer as only going to be looking to start back work next September. Think it just gets paid monthly into bank account Hun, but not sure actually will look now see if I can find out

Are u getting smp too then? X

It says smp is paid same as ur wages so for us monthly. Although it doesn't say if this is the same for the other 33 weeks payments although I'm going to presume that's monthly too xx
