*** November 2014 Mummies! ***

I think you can work up to level 3 TA with a pgce. Though I once applied for a level 1TA job, bottom of the rung, just sitting next to a child in the classroom all day and the Head told me I didn't have the relevant qualifications. I've seen guidelines from the govt though which say a pgce should be considered relevant up to level 3 ta. My school has employed a few trained teachers as TAs.

The holidays are a massive bonus, though you don't get paid for any of them, usually, which is what makes the pay so crap, as you're being paid for only 39 weeks a year.

I knew about the holiday and pay situation as my mom used to work as a TA in special needs schools. But hopefully if I take that into consideration when im looking for a job I can find something suitable. A lot of jobs now are minimum wage anyway especially when only working part time so I'd rather be in a school than stuck in a shop or office.

Yeah, I agree. At least the hours are regular.

I ate the biggest roast dinner today, think it had all my 5 a day on one plate! Very good for baby.

You can get a hlta position with a pgce I'm sure coz as long as u studied level 4 and above at uni it pretty much counts. For me it does anyway but I was a ta whilst studying part time for my teaching degree. I have one more observation in next few weeks then my final report will be signed off and Nqt year will be complete!! Do worry that teaching will take up too much time and my children will suffer for it. Rather work part time but all depends on what we can afford. Wish I didn't have to work or at least not until baby old enough for school. Don't like the thought of others bringing up my children at such a vulnerable age.

Staying in education is fab though and well worth the hols for children's sake. Xxx

I wanted a roast today but we never got the chance to go shopping yday. We had a takeaway curry instead (not good for baby!)

Just had a shower and I have another lovely pregnancy side effect that I wasnt told about. Dandruff. I've never had dandruff before and now its there sitting. Looking horrible. Thought I was meant to have bouncy shiny locks by this point :(

Sorry meant to say it's at the discretion of the school or governing body as to whether to employ at higher grades etc. Like they may say ur experience alone qualifies u as hlta. If that makes sense xx

Im just glad my mom will be there to look after the little one. As its free and it'll give her time alone to bond which I know she'll enjoy. She loves looking after my niece, even though she doesn't follow the rules and does things her way instead of what my brother and his wife have told her to do. My mom was a nursery nurse for many years so always thinks she knows best when it comes to children. Luckily most if my thoughts are the same as hers as shes brought me up that way.

Kaa, the govt guidelines I read said that a PGCE isn't good enough for an HLTA role, which I find ridiculous because an HLTA is clearly lower ranking in pay scales and qualifications than a teacher. It's something to do with not having people management skills - I challenge anyone to explain how a teacher survives on a day to day basis without people management skills!

Oh dear, Mellie! My hair hasn't done much, it's slightly less greasy but not enough to wash it less. But I do have flaky nipples, at least I get to keep those hidden on a daily basis! :D

Im going to start looking early and I know a fair few people in schools so going to make them all aware and hopefully someone will hear of something for me. If not I'll just have to find a little shop job for a bit and carry on looking. Luckily I have quite a bit of experience in various jobs as I had hundreds of jobs while I was a student!

My nipples were big and dark anyway they've basically just gone even bigger and even darker! My boobs definitely are bigger though which is nice. I need to start getting in a routine of moisturising my bump otherwise I know I'm going to get terrible stretch marks.

I keep meaning to get some decent moisturiser because my e45 lotion is not thick enough. Going to get some cocoa butter, smells nice! I read that stretch marks are partly genetic and my mum has none. So fingers crossed!

Have you got much of a bump yet? I've got a hard lump below my belly button but I've also got a nice layer of flab which makes my bump look bigger!

My mom also has none. Although I have some just from when my hips popped out when I was younger so pretty sure I'll get them. I love cocoa butter, thats what I've got, I'm just too forgetful at remembering to put it on all the time.

I took photos when i first got pregnant, I keep having to check back to reassure myself that its not just fat. But my bump and flab have kind of merged into one. My whole belly pops out as if I was a lot further gone but a lot of it is just where fats moved about a bit. Put when I poke near the bottom its very firm. It needs to hurry up and get bigger, at the moment I just look fat.

You're joking that's ridiculous!! Well like I said it's the discretion of ur employer I think if they knew u were qualified teacher they would no doubt employ u as hlta. I would still apply anyway.

My mum doesn't work Fridays so that's great as she offered to have baby then I just hear a lot of bad things about nurseries near me n am reluctant to trust them with my child :-/ I know I will have to though everything is too expensive these days for me to be a stay at home mum.

Oh I just look fat. Either too far pregnant for the stage I'm at or just flabby. Hard above belly button and getting firmer below but a nice big layer of blubber to cover over it. Just going to see it as I'm protecting my baby more haha.

Nipples huge and dark. Hair a mess and greasy. Spots everywhere face back u name it. Trust me there is no such thing as a pregnancy glow!! Xxx

Haha kaa glad to hear its not just me that has no pregnancy glow. My sister in law tells me even once the baby arrives I wont look any better, because then the baby will just be sucking the life out of me by breast feeding instead. This really is a magical time!

All the nurseries by me are terrible too, far too many have been in the paper for neglecting the children. One child even fell out the window! Im sure thetes plenty of good ones hiding around though, its always the bad ones you hear about first though.

Im going into town today, someone on hear mentioned that Birmingham has a Mamas & Papas outlet store. 70% off some things, not going to be able to buy much yet though need to wait till I know if its pink or blue!

We're moving house in 6 days and my 20 week scan is in 2 weeks! Hurry up time! Hehe!

The 4 rats almost got in it too! OH was changing their cage so they were in the small cage on the windowsill... Hence why the cat is up there being an arsehole in the first place :P!

Ohh your bump really is coming along now. Cant wait until mines like that.
My dog keeps trying to get in all the bump photos I've ever taken!

Ignore my last comment! Couldn't edit it to carry on my sentence!

Gotta love cats! Our house would be so quiet without them :-)
