**** November 2012 Mummies **** (everyone welcome)

Sorry to hear about your friends little boy Ruth. Poor lad!

Grrr, day 5 of no poo for James (again!!)

I did mention it to GP last week, even though at the time James had been 3 days in a row, and GP said they only intervene if baby is in serious pain. He said to do the bicycle legs, tummy rubs and water... He also said some babies just go less?

First few weeks he was going 10+ times a day as most newborns do but I think whilst I was still expressing he got down to every other day?

He seems fine though, he slept 9pm - 5am and then back down from 5.30 - 9am!

So J slept in his big boy cot last night! It went well, he doesn't seem to mind at all. The only problem is I normally lean over to out in the dummy when he stirs too early for his feed, but I can't reach the cot from the bed. So I ended up feeding him at 2am and he then woke before 6.

I'm venturing out in the snow with the pram for the first time this afternoon. It's really icy here and we live on a big hill, so I've been avoiding it, but I'm a little stir crazy having not left the house since Thursday. We're going to a coffee afternoon in the village.

Nat, fx James poos today!

Ruthie, sorry about your friends LO. Hopefully it will be OK. I think people have their thyroid removed quite often so you must be able to live without it. They take thyroxine as a tablet.

Xxx

I've got serious cabin fever too but we don't really need to go out so I think I'll wait until tomorrow?

We last went out Friday morning

They've not even gritted our pavement yet and the snow is quite thick (or trodden in and icy) and I just cba to be honest. Tomorrow we'll need supplies so I'll brave it then.

James has been fine being indoors and OH is off work today so we may jsut have a cosy day in?

Enjoy your coffee afternoon L_a and well done J for sleeping in his big cot. We plan to switch over when James outgroes the crib but he still has a lot of room to play with.

well we have serious snow here today lol! i was up most of the night with ella so i watched it!! Its so beautiful, just glad im stocked up as theres not a chance of getting out!

I have a grumpy baby today. She slept through til half 8 so i thought she would be really happy. She's done nothing but sleep and cry when she's awake. Dont know whats wrong with her but she's never been like this. She's napping now so im hoping that she wakes up happier.

We are also snowed in. I hate hate hate snow! It makes the world stop and i dont like being in the house all day. Ive managed to get out up to yet apart from a couple of days when the snow has been bad. I went out when it had iced up which was hard work to keep on my feet but today its driving me mad. No way can i push pram in this

Hope everyone is ok xx

According to Wonder Weeks James is about to start going through another leap (I got an email today telling me the 12 week leap is imminent LOL)

Maybe it's the same for O?

James was a week late so his 12 week leap should come a little earlier - around 11 weeks.

For those of you that have no idea what I am talking about:

Goodness I never realised the leaps worked on due date? So at 6 days late, J will enter the leaps about a week early too?

We did wonder what was happening as J seemed to finish the 8 week leap before his 8th week started...

ruthie..thoughts are with your friends little boy. The world is such a cruel place sometimes!

missyeovil..it hardly snows down here and when it does it is not as near the amount as we get back home! It does make the whole of the west country come to a halt when it does snow though! Madness.

la..hope you managed to get out and about today despite the snow? Have you got a baby carrier, might make it an easier trip when the weather is so bad?

Kerrie..hope you little lady has perked up? Nothing worse when they are grumpy and you can't get them in a good mood, really frustrating.

Nat..I've seen it's been really heavy snow in London, saw it coming down during the football yesterday! Send some my way, I just love the snow! Hope James has given you that big poop your waiting for?

Not had a lot on today, had a group this morning then have just pottered around the house and snoozed with M this afternoon. She's discovered her right hand and loves to stick it in her mouth as far as she can get it, it is constantly in there so I'm wondering if she might be starting to teeth? She doesn't do it with her left hand though. I've been trying to get her to hold onto rattles and things, she entertains it for a few seconds then just drops it! So I'll jut keep at that for now.

O was a week early so is 9 weeks ww age but she did have her 8 week leap at 7 weeks.

I dont know if she's just having a bit of a growth spurt.nshe slept from 12 til half 3 and has woken up a bit happier.

I saved some paper from my bday presents and she's been playing with tht today and yesterday. She loves it and she's quite happy plying with tht at the minute

Awww - look at O - so cute!!

Well James had a massive poo earlier, Mummy was in raptures!! Highlight of my day (so sad!!)

xxxxxxx

Hehe i remember when I was doing rabbit droppings for a week and when she finally did a proper poo me and oh was so happy. Xx

It's supposed to snow not RAIN.

M has a cold :(, he is handling it really well. And he is in leap stage...hard week coming my way. I also have 13 parcels coming tomorrow...being bed bound with a baby and swollend hand results in too much shopping.

James and I are going to venture out today. It is still so icy out BUT we can't stay in for another day, I cannot take it anymore

He'll be fine in the pram and I'll take my chances.

Bub slept from 9pm to almost 6am today!! Although he didn't go back down for long after his feed this morning so we've been up since 7am.

I had to take him in bed with us at 3am as his little hands were frozen and he won't let me cover them (I've tried blankets, mitts and socks - he just likes to have his hands out?) at least in bed I could snuggle him and keep his hands warm.

xxxxxxx

Aw nat, Massan is the exact same with his hands. I have tried putting his sleep suit mits on...but the screams are terrifying. It's the only thing (so far) that infuriates him. Even when I accidentally pinched his underarm skin he just whimpered, but cover his hands you would think I had hurt him. ;(

M slept 10.30 - 6.30 and expressed on my new awesome pump at 3. That is the best sleep in a while, wish I didn't have to express but it took less time than hand pump so not complaining (too much)

I'm loving having m in the cot, with his night light I don't have to get out of bed when he wiggles to see if he is awake...I can see him :)

We've got a Ewan on the side of the crib and a Winney The Pooh nightlight!

I use the nightlight for getting him to sleep (it's too bright for me!) and I stick Ewan on if I need to settle him in the night,

So far today I've washed up, changed the bedsheets and put a wash on - as well as having James all morning! A very productive day so far

Morning ladies

You cant beat bed snuggless with yr bubs in this weather, ive got arthur in now with me :)

Well Arthur is only getting up twice for feeds now 2am & 5am, i have to express 1oz off before every feed and bin it as it stops him getting to much foremilk so hes not suffering with trapped wind, since doing this hes going longer in between feeds and no green poo. Ive just bought the medela swing so lets see how we get on!

Hows the hand kelly? Nat try some sugar in warm water for james, sugar is a stimulant for bowel movements, worth a try.

We are going home today after a week at the inlaws, was also wondering if anyone is suffering headaches since having the lo's? You know with posture when feeding esp bf xx

Hi all. Sorry if it seems i'm intruding on your thread, but just wanted to pop by and say hi, as I too was a November mummy. My little man turned 9 weeks old yesturday and he was perfect all day long, with very few fits of tears, but I think that was because his dad was home due to the snow. This morning the tears have resumed!

I haven't read much of this thread but just noticed Ewan be mentioned - he is waiting at John Lewis for me to collect - does he work? Can't wait to collect him as my LO loves white noise.

Also my LO is sleeping through!!! Yay!! Some light at last. After 42 weeks of a sick pregnancy, being induced, a 37 hour (sicky) labour and a screaming newborn with colic and fights sleep, I really need something good to happen!

Lovely pic's as always Wilson!

Srob, don't be silly - you are more than welcome!! I remember that you had a tough start (Having a newborn is not bloody easy even without colic!!) so glad to hear things are better now!

Ewan is fab, I love him! James seems to like him too

xxxxxxxxxx
