**** November 2012 Mummies **** (everyone welcome)

should meet for a coffee, my partner works outside of london and his family are here so we come down 2 days a week, plus mil drives me mad sometimes and so im in need of escape lol xx

Wilson - love the last pic of Arthur in the bath, he has the same expression J has when he's not sure about something!

We've had a good couple of inches of snow here and it's still coming down fairly heavy. I was supposed to be taking J over to my work today, but no way I'm taking him anywhere in the car. We live in a rural area and they don't clear the roads. Last time we had heavy snow we couldn't get cars out of the village for over a week. I have a 4wd now for that reason, but I won't risk getting stuck on the downs with J.

I have a new Pilates DVD, so if J let's me I might do that instead.

We were supposed to be going out to dinner tonight for the first time, because it was my birthday yesterday - my mum is babysitting. We won't get to the place we were going, because it's 10 miles on country roads, but we might walk down to the curry house in the village instead.

Everything looks very pretty outside, but I think I'll stay in the warm for now.

Happy belated Birthday L_a xxx

Well we're back from our walk and that is me in hibernation until it stops snowing (and it all thaws!)

I was determined to go out in the snow and come back with numb fingers and toes  James is still asleep is his carrycot, he was oblivious to the weather.

Snow is much nicer when you can look at it out of the window

I wish I could take credit but it was tweetyfoo's idea Kelly xx

James and I went out this morning, but we've been in and chiling all afternoon / evening!

I have been in PJ's since lunchtime

Just had a lovely jacket spud for dinner (with Greek salad and a glass of wine!) now going to watch OBEM

xxxxxx

Had a nice chilled day today. OH braved the journey to work (woke up to snow), my friend popped in for a cuppa and a cuddle with M.
Oh, M and me got all wrapped up and took our dog for a nice walk in the snow. I totally love the snow so had to get out in it. Was great seeing all the kids enjoying it too, was excited to think that M will hopefully be able to walk this time next year and can help make a snowman! hehe Popped to Tesco and have chilled out for the rest of the afternoon/evening.
Oh yea, I did ironing earlier too..im usually a iron as you go kinda gal! lol

Think we are in for more snow tonight :) x

I don't iron a thing mrsw

I can honestly say since having James I've not even put the iron on

(OH irons his own stufff as I am a terrible ironer!)

xxxxxxx

Lol I wanted something to do so I cracked the iron on!! Very much out of character OH nearly fell off his seat in shock!

Happy birthday L_a, I just sent you my fb request.

There's been a fair bit of snow here, oh ended up with the day off as there was no way he could reach work so we took the dog out. Oh had T in the carrier and decided to throw snowballs at me, I didn't throw any back but I'll be getting him back. Other than that just been chilling all day.

I only iron if its absolutely nessaccery as oh and me both have to iron work kit but we never iron each others because then if you get in trouble for being scruffy it's only you to blame lol.

We're back to a 1am feed so last nights sleep through till 4am just a fluke. Oh well I still get more sleep than I used to. Counting myself lucky.

We had a terrible night (in-fact to me it is still night!!)

James had a really whingey hour before bed when he pretty much cried the whole time. A bath with Daddy did quieten him for all of 5 minutes!

He was fed, changed and put to bed and it took an hour to settle him. OH ended up going to bed with him.

He slept 10pm - 5am which sounds good but from about 3am he was restless and had me awake.. I'd only gone to bed at Midnight.

We had a 5am feed and tried everything to get him back down... He's currently in his chair watching the baby channel and seems to think his day has begun.

I feel a bit anxious actually as 1) if he is up this early he'll need an extra feed today and 2) it's so icy out so we'll be stuck in and I normally take him for a walk around lunch time to get him to have a long nap.

The thought of being in all day with a grouchy baby who will be awake pretty much all day until 9pm makes me want to cry already!

Nat - I understand that anxiety! It's weird that something so small can cause so much worry.

If James likes the buggy for sleeping, have you tried the car seat (not in the car)? I put J in it the other day and it rocks quite nicely, so he went straight off. I put a cellular blanket over it to block out visual stimulation and he stayed asleep for a couple of hours!

Will your OH be home today to help you? I hope you have a good day.

We don't have a car seat (well we do but it's at my parents) as we don't have a car!!

I normally take James out for at least an hour and he'll maybe have 2.5 / 3 hours sleep in total. He never does that in the daytime indoors.

OH is asleep, he was up with us both at 5am and we agreed at 6am that I'd do the early shift and he'd do the late shift. BUT if James doesn't sleep later then neither will I.

I just hate the idea of being stuck in all day, I like to get out and about - makes me feel more human LOL!

I think James may have a cold actually, we've had a few snotty sneezes..

I am thankful that James isn't like this all the time, he has his moments of course BUT if he was like this all the time I'd be a wreck.

Nat - if you can't get out have you tried putting him in his pram anyway and moving it around? I've read it works for some people and might make him drift off.
Our snow is now going but it's looking very icy outside :( might try brave it later with M in her carrier ill hang into oh!

We have cream carpet throughout and the wheels are filthy so the pram hasn't been up indoors since we first went out.

If I get desperate I may take it out on the balcony and bung him in it

If I can get him to 2pm without an extra feed then we're sorted! Although one day with a few extra oz's won't make much of a difference.

Also I think James is actually now on the cusp of the 9th centile (from 25th centile) so maybe I need to feed him a bit more!

I am taking him for another weigh-in on 25th!

xxxxx

I'm not sure why you're worried about that extra feed? J often has an extra feed if he's up early and having read the amounts James takes, I think J takes similar and he's 2 weeks younger! j is big though, close to 75th centile, but he's following it and nobody is concerned. I just feed him when he asks for it, providing it's been at least a couple of hours.

I was going to suggest trying a sling round the house, but I think I remember that James didn't like the sling? I'm sure you've thought of everything possible anyway

The thing I hate most is trying to get J to sleep. He goes from smiling and cooing to meltdown so quickly and if he doesn't get enough sleep it just gets worse as the day goes on. With J, the best thing is to put him down in the bedroom in his crib, but it often takes a while and he needs re-settling several times. I find it so stressful. My husband is up there trying now but I can hear J crying :(

I'm very lucky, my mum does so much. She was staying here last night, so she took J when he woke at 6:15 and we had a long lie in.

I'm not sure why I worry so much about extra feeds either?

For some reason I am really paranoid about James' weight?? I worried for a while that he was eating too much (he's been on 30oz a day since he was jsut a few weeks )

James has actually had a very long nap without me walking the streets! I have managed to do two washes and am now watching a film

I'm going to make an Omelette for lunch soon and my Dad is going to drop round the baby gym. James is probably still a bit too young BUT Ithought I'd try it out on him!

Also we have finally found a sling he doesn't mind... yay!

James has been quite good today actually and even though I've been up since 5am today hasn't been that bad. For some reason I expected him to be really difficult and he's been fine??

Aww so glad he has had a sleep for you nat. O was the same and would only sleep when we are out and about unless she was asleep on me or oh. Its nice to have a cuddle but means i literally get no time to myself so luckily for the pasr week O has slept for 3 hours in the afternoon at home in her swing, bouncer or car seat. I think the trick with her is to let her fall to sleep where she is going to stay iykwim. Then in the evening we have cuddles and play time when oh goes to work.

We have quite a bit of snow here and i hate snow! We are spending the day at home as i dont fancy driving even though the main roads are clear, the side roads arent and i dont want to risk taking O out im the car as my road is still bad. I also dont fancy pushing a pushchair along the snow! Its my birthday tomorrow and i hope we can get out for the day. I already had to cancel a take away night with the girls last night as the snow was that bad.

On the plus side O has slept through the night for the past three nights. She's been waking up at 7/7.30 but this morning went back down til half 9. Its been amazing. This morning when she woke again at half 9 she was babbling to herself and then gave me the biggest smile when she saw me. Awwww xxx

Morning smiles are the best!

I love it when James wakes up happy.... he does most mornings. So even though I had an early start I got lots of smiles for my trouble!
