**** November 2012 Mummies **** (everyone welcome)

That's well out of order Ruthie! I would be having serious words with him if I were you! hugs xx

littleangel sounds like yr LO is having a development leap xx
I think you're right, I think we just came out of the 5 week one, right on schedule as J was 6 weeks yesterday.

I can really tell the difference, he seems to notice more and is smiling loads today!

He went to sleep at 10:45 last night - much better.

@mrswoody - my friend lent me a bear that makes womb noises, but J doesn't seem to like it, I've tried white noise too.

@robyn- We're just using the gaviscon at the moment, I'd like to change one thing at a time really so I can see what works. The gaviscon seems to be improving things, but i think we're going to need more than 2 doses a day. We tried infacol and didn't think it did much, but we've had trouble getting the wind up after the 4am feed the last few nights so I might try it again.

He is in the comfort milk as well, we tried it initially because the HV said it is a littl thicker and would help reflux, but it's actually helped his tummy - he seems less windy and straining less.

We have the head of the Moses basket raised and the mattress sloped in the crib. I've just ordered a reflux wedge and a sleep positioner for the crib to arrive tomorrow.

Thanks for the tip about putting him on his left. As an ex-gastro nurse you would think I'd have thought of that, but no! Will give it a go.

Thanks for your help, I'm glad you found what works for your LO. I'm going to ask for ranitidine next of the gaviscon doesn't work.

Ruthie my hubby made a comment like this to me recently. I went nuts not to mention totally devestated as well but hubby soon apologised.

Nat..great weight gain for James! At least you know he's going in the right direction! x

firstly ruth id show yr felka the back door snd say if u dont like it pal you can get on yr bike.and then id give him the baby for the day dnd say id like to see u try!! prat!!

ive imvested in a dr brown feeding bottle today, aparently works wonders for windy/colicy babies xx

My sis says Dr Browns are really good she swears by them xx

worth a try, also bought a cold water tank today. going to use it for my breast pump, i think the nesting has finally come lol xx

Cold water tank? For sterilising? My house is still a bomb site but bath, bottle, bed is really working for us - I did it all tonight (OH is a lazy sod today!) expressed and had a bath after she went down :D xx

Celene I'm in the same boat as you - Cathy normally goes down after 20 mins then I express but I'm using a single pump so it takes up to an hour resulting in me being wide awake (and she'll want feeding again in an hour and a half anyway) :( xx

I know it's so hard! It was taking me an hour to express and the sterilise, but my mid wife lent me her pump so now I hold an phillips avent on one boob and the medele pump on the other boob cuts the time in half. Do you know of anyone that has another pump you could borrow? xxx

Glad you got some reassurance Nat :) xx

I've just ordered myself an Ameda Lactaline double breast pump with some of my xmas moolah as even though the Medela Swing is fabulous I am spending up to 6h a day expressing  and I got 50 more booby milk bags from Home Bargains for £4 woohoo :D xx

Thats awesome hun. Let us know how it goes. I would love a double pump but they are so pricey. xxx

There are some Ameda Lactaline going on eBay for about £50, I almost won one earlier but was outbid at the last sec - the seller then messaged saying the winner had withdrawn and did I still want it but I'd bought one by then! Poor seller as we were the only 2 who bid lol.

It's so lovely that your midwife is supporting you like that though, my HV keeps trying to get me to bf, f off!

It's arriving on Monday so will let you know how it goes, I'm soo excited! Xx

ella is a grumpy madam today! She slept well last night and has pretty muched slept all day today, but when shes awake shes moaning and looking really sad! She had a little tear today too. bless her

My OH has pissed me of today too, he came home for his hour break and couldnt find his friends hoodie he borrowed which i havnt seen, he said to me you sit at home all day doing nothing how havnt you found it.! I dont think its even in the house. He keeps saying you dont even have a job blah blah, erm i think i do have a job love im on maternity leave you big prick head lol hes so rude to me it drives me mad, i earn more than him and have a better job than him so he can do one.

Rant over lol.

I had similar. Oh works nightS and slept from the moment he got in this morning until he left for work. I complained and said I need some support and some time with u. I also like him to look after Chloe before he leaves for a bit so I can rush around and feed animals, put washing on, sort bottles for night feeds etc. I had no help. Anyway resulted in a huge argument as he left when he said he was tired and I said he has had a hell of a lot more sleep than me and u need some support. He said I don't need my sleep as he works and I don't. I wasn't a happy mummy. He also said as his mum is having Chloe for a few hours today it is all alright!

cold water tank... have you never heard of one? xx

Well James seems to be going backwards?

He screamed during bathtime (which he normally loves) and he was so hard to settle in crib!

He went down from 9pm - 1am then had a feed and back down from 2am - 5am. I then bought him in bed with us, fed him at 7am and managed to nap until about 10am.

He is now on day 5 without a poo as well, poor little mite!

If no joy by Monday we'll go Dr's!

Also my bloody internet has been playing up.

On the bright side my copy of Wonder Weeks has finally arrived and I can't wait to read it.

We have a cold water sterliser which you had milton tablets too where I work. Its awful with my hands. I never suffered with sore hands til I used that. My hands were sore, cut and bled everytime I moved my knuckles. Makes me want to cry thinking about it.

I brought a milton spray to use when olivia was born for changing mat and stuff and only used it twice and it did the same to me. My hands obviously dont like it x

Ohhh a cold water steriliser lol my mum kept going on about them (I think she was addicted to the smell of Milton).

Kerrie my hands are like that and its nothing to do with the steriliser for me do i dont know what it is! Every time I make a fist my knuckles crack and bleed and my lips are the same bleeding all the time :(

C has been whinging all day since 4am and cries every time you put her down, will not sleep! She's having a nap for the first tome since 12 so we are blitzing the housework xx
