**** November 2012 Mummies **** (everyone welcome)

I honestly thought it was for mums  haha I'm so thick! Oh well - it is nice to have in your bath lol, makes good bubbles! Xx

I started using wipes about 3/4weeks ago for ease. Cotton wool and water was a night mare during the night. Not used any lotions yet but will do in the next week or so, I have the Asda angels range xx

I have little angels everything - nappies, lotion, bottle brush, cotton balls etc lol. It's a 5 min walk from me and my mum works there so discount hehe :D can't fault anything I have used from there though xx

arthurs bum doesnt appear to like little angels range or wipes, his bum goes blister red :( apparently they arnt biodegradable and dont breath on babys skin

also the little man has had us up all night, i think hes suffering trapped wind.
hes grizzles in his sleep and grunts like hes trying to poo, then always farts like mad in the morning. had to go take him on the spare bed to giv daddy some sleep at 6am for work xx

James didn't sleep through again last night!!

Looks like we've gone back to needing a night-time feed.

He slept from about 8 until 2.30am and then eventually slept from 4am to 9.30.

I had such trouble sleeping last night when he did go down though so am shattered today.

Really? Like I said I've never had a problem with them, looks like Arthur has sensitive skin :(

He might be having a growth spurt Nat and go back to sleeping through in a few days xx

sounds like a growth spurt, lots of close hugging from u will help before bed xx

This is day 3 of no poo for poor little one.

He did a monster one on NYE (and I mean it was the biggest thing I've ever seen) and he kindly did it whilst he was having some nappy off time

Happy new year everyone!

So, we've been to the GP today and J has been prescribed gaviscon for reflux. We put the first sachet in his last bottle but I can't say I noticed any difference. Maybe it will take a few? I hope it works soon, it breaks my heart when he shrieks in pain and the crying afterwards is so sad.

In other news, I stopped expressing today, so J will be exclusively ff. I hadn't been expressing regularly enough to keep up the supply, so it had been dropping to such small amounts. I also think the reflux is worse with it because it isn't a s thick as the comfort milk. J is six weeks old today and I'm happy he was mainly breast fed for 3 weeks and had some breast milk every day to 6 weeks.

We're having trouble settling him last thing at night, which is completely knackering. We've tried settling him at 7pm, which goes OK, but he wakes after an hour or so, as with his other naps. The problem is trying to settle him for the night after the 10pm bottle. He gets really upset and cries hysterically every time we try and put him down. He won't even lie in the bed with me any more (we co-slept when I was breastfeeding). I don't get it because once we get him down the first time, he will go down after his next 2 bottles in the night without any problem. I'm hoping the gaviscon will help, but I don't really understand why this particular time is a problem! Sometimes it's taking 2-3 hours to settle him :(

Carnat - I have trouble sleeping too :(. It's so annoying, I feel so tired and I lie there thinking, why can't I sleep? I don't normally have trouble with sleeping either (before pregnancy). It's like my body thinks at 4am that I've had enough to last me for a while! It definitely doesn't suit me sleeping in short stretches. Last night I got about 6 hours total, but nothing longer than 2 hours.

littleangel sounds like yr LO is having a development leap xx

Sally..that's a great amount of milk!

La..hello!,hopefully your little man starts to get better soon. My little lady seems to take a while to go to sleep after her last night feed between 11pm-12am! Sometimes she's still awake come 1.30! I have Ewan the dream sheep and it really works to send her to sleep. He plays all sorts of noises!

Nat...hope James poos soon! It will no doubt be when you least expect it...so when he's having no nappy time!

Our holidays back home are nearly finished and we drive back on Saturday. I looking forward to getting Madison into a routine starting Monday. I also start a Baby group on Monday and M gets weighed too! See if all the festive eating has had an effect hehe x

I used wipes from day one??!! Lol oops, touch wood shes never had a problem in that area!

OBEM was funny, lol the guy with the light switch haha! typical

I love sharing our pictures of the bubs as its nice to watch them grow and change!

Had a rough night last night, she was up from 11-4 wanting cuddles but she had slept all day yesterday so hoping for a better night tonight. Shes been up 2 hours now having some play time and cuddles.

xx

little_angel, you've done fantastically to breast feed even if it was just for a little while.

mrswoody I get James weighed tomorrow, so I'll report back! I reckon he'll have gained loads..

I've just discovered the principle of "sleep generating sleep" meaning that the better they nap during the day the better they will sleep at night. The theory being that regular naps in the daytime mean they aren't too overtired come bedtime.

xxxxxxx
