Mummies Running Club :D

Im right with you Rednursie :(
Im in the worst possible mood today, my positive mood has practically fizzled out and im just fed up of being injured and people posting on fb isnt helping! x x

It's properly pissing it down with rain and I didn't go for a run yesterday so promised myself I'd go today. Do I just run in the rain? I don't want to be a fair weather runner but it's vile lol.

Its a tough one.....I don't mind if it rains a bit while I'm already out running but I can never drag myself out when it's already raining...
I joined a gorgeous gym this morning. Tsars only a ten minute walk and had the nicest biggest Jacuzzi's and spa area. I know that's not going to make me fitter but I think I'll be much more inclined to go. That's the plan anyway. My leg is still sore today when I walk on it. If no improvement by saturday I'll make a physio appointment. £70 for a consultation though :-(

Im feeling ok Rednursie, thanks for asking :) Hope your feeling more positive now.

Ive been moping all week so I bit the bullet and im going to see my physio tomorrow night, it cost me a fortune last time when i had my knee problems but if its going to make me feel better and get me back running quicker then thats all that matters!
Just glad ive got 20miles under my belt otherwise id have to throw the towel in as there is no way id be mentally/physically prepared.

Mel - I love running in the rain :) Get yourself a good running jacket - maybe a storm proof one now its getting colder and go out snd enjoy the cold, mud and puddles, you will feel an extra buzz when you get home knowing you went out no matter what :) a friend sent me this, ImageUploadedByTapatalk1348702976.539029.jpg x x

Hi ladies!

Well done on ur run AM!!

Sorry to hear you ladies are suffering with injuries!!

Well iv only been out once a week last two weeks :( OH has been working loads and iv just not got round to it. He's promised me he will deffo be back early every tuesday and Thursday plus I can run on a Sunday too so hopefully I will start getting somewhere soon xx

Ladies can I ask if any of you use a foam roller? Sometimes my calls feel right or I get cramp in my thing after a run and Im thinking a ,foam roller might help? I'm a bit clueless about them though, if anyone can give me any tips on which size to get etc? Thanks :) xxx

Sorry to hear you've not been out much Pos :(

I use a foam roller for my itb band Rednursie, it was the best money ive spent on any piece of fitness equipment apart from my garmin. It really hurts at first but you get used to it after a while. Just go for a cheap one to start with hun, none of these spikey ones (they are called triggerpont grid roller) as you will do yourself more harm than good. Ive just got the fitness-mad one x x

Fingers crossed you'll have a good routine in no time pos.
Thanks M2A Ive just had my introductory PT session at the gym where a foam roller was also suggested to me so shall be getting one ASAP. I've bought a couple of PT sessions as I've realised just how rubbish my core stability & flexibility really is. Xxx

Gutted 4th rejection mag has arrived for the London marathon :( x

Its so hard to get in through the ballot, i knew that when I first applied but 4 times :(

No shin splints here, ive been to the physio and i have uneven muscle tissue in my calf, lots of stretching, foam rolling and massage. Had 30mins of sports massage for treatment and it already feels better. No follow up appointment needed so it cant be that bad after all :) x x

How you getting on Rednursie? Have you managed anymore long runs? x x

I pick up a sports bandage a while ago and ive put it on my calf and it has worked wonders, i did my first run today only 5k as I didnt want to push it too far, i had niggles, just hoping im ok in the morning.
Maybe a support might help you rednursie? x

Well I haven't been out for a run since Tuesday when I got that pain. I've concluded it's my Achilles that the pain was coming from. I have always been rubbish at stretching so I'm pretty sure that's why it flared up. Saw a pt at the gym who went through loads of stretches with me and gave me a programme to do. I have some more Pt sessions booked plus ive ordered a foam roller (have been using foam roller in the gym & found it great) Ive been working nights all weekend so Next pt session is tomorrow & my plan is to do a long run on Tuesday. If I stretch properly I think I should be okay. Oh I'm also using the power plate to help me too. Not long now for you M2A I hope your not too nervous xxx

Excited, emotional and nervous hun, its a strange feeling but i can now say this month im going to be running a marathon for a charity close to my heart, 2 years after i lost my angel baby.

Hope your injury calms down hun, how long is it till your big day now? x

Donated! I am so impressed - I wish you all the best on the run. Let me know how it goes! Must get off my bum and get running again. Did a 5K back in June, and then I just sort of stopped because I was so busy. You have inspired me!! xx

No probs sunnygirl :) are there any local races you could enter? How did you get on in June?

Less than 2 weeks to go M2A I'm sure you can't believe it's this month!! Will be thinking about you!

Rednursie I hope your long run goes ok tomorrow and your achilles is ok.

Hi Pos  how are you? Hopefully your oh will get home early and you can get out!

Well I'm officially crap haven't been out in ages. The weather is pretty miserable here atm, but I started the 30 day shred yesterday to try and improve my fitness and tone up. I will try and get out for a run this week......

Four weeks today! Still have only one long run (15 miles) under my belt so a bit scared. Hope to do a long run tomorrow morning. Off for my pt session mo in preparation xxx
