Mummies Running Club :D

Well not long and you'll be doing double that. Imagine how amazing/awful you'll feel after that :D

I have no idea on a race. I know Ive got a half in May but wouldnt mind doing one before that really and use the May one to boost my time.

Its quite hard to find races over the winter period, im really struggling to find one i want to do in between my marathon and my first half marathon of 2013 on Jan 20th x x

That's a good training plan you have there AM!

I did 13.15 miles this evening in 2hours 19 minutes. I felt surprisingly okay after it! Brought my water and two gels with me :) I really would love to finish the marathon in under 5 hours, I read somewhere to estimate your time, double your last half marathon plus 30 mins. Based on this evenings run( where I didn't push myself) that would give me a time of 5 hours ten. I wonder if I can beat that....Fingers crossed. Next time I'm doing a long run I'll try and push myself a bit more & see what happens :)

Well Done Rednursie, must be less than 7 weeks till your marathon, not long now :) x x

AM great plan there, good luck with it :-)

Rednursie well done with over 13 miles :yay:

Just got back from NI this morning so will get out tomorrow (going to chill today, was up at 4:30am)

5 miles for me tonight, my legs found it a bit tough, think i could of done with another rest day. Just managed to get in before the rain started too :) x x

So ladies I am off to Egypt on Monday for one week. There is no way I will be running outside while I am there. However the gym I am staying in does have a gym. I normally hate running in the treadmill but I will do my best to try & keep my fitness up.
I've had a look at my 16 week training plan which admittedly I haven't looked at for a while...I am kind of on track though as long as I get a 16 mile run in by the end of this week. The thoughts of a 16 mile run is making me dizzy! No idea how I will manage it! But given that my training will be pretty much at a stand still next week I do g have any choice!
I plan to make a brand new playlist for my iPod to keep me going, any more tips for my first über long run??
Thanks in advance girlies xxx

Hope you have a lovely holiday hun.
With your long run, make sure you eat lots of 'good' carbs and enough protein and iron the day before. And think about hydration a few days before. Have a gel 15mins before you go out and Vaseline everywhere that your clothes touch to stop chaffing but apart from that hunny just enjoy it :) x x

Wow rednursie you done great!! I would love to be able to run that well!!

So, after what I think was shin splints last week Iv not been out since as I wanted new trainers first. Finally managed to get to runners need today for the gait (sp?) assessment and got a pair :yay: I'm £100 lighter but oh my god as soon as my feet went into the few pairs I instantly realised my current trainers are too small!!!

So iv gone up to a size 6 and on the treadmill on the shop they feel like heaven! OH was working late today so couldn't go out but will be out with them tomorrow :yay:

X

I decided after Sunday I felt brave enough to join a club again, my old club wasnt brilliant so i searched around and come across KHAC, its a well run club and its at a time in the evening that would suit me, so i went along tonight for my first club run and absolutely loved it :) the only bad thing is its about 25mins drive but id say tonight was well worth it x x

Aw that's great, being a member of a good club makes all the difference! I used to run with a club in Northumberland, they were lovely.

There is a marathon on Sunday in my local town. They have lots of other races on throughout the day too, 10k, 5k etc. I didnt realise in time to enter online but you can enter them from tomorrow at the expo, so going to go down and hopefully enter the 5k. Will be nice distance to do as not been out much since my last race.

Ladies I think I'm going to look into joining a running club :-) I almost did a couple of years ago but then I got injured-Boo :-(
Anyway I did a run this evening. 14 miles, I have to admit my legs really hurt after 12-was such a struggle to finish!
Good luck to anyone planning a long run over the weekend :-) xxx

Didn't get down today, thought I would have time this morning but didn't. (It was C's birthday today) But registration opens again at 8am so going to head down first thing. Race isn't til after 1pm.

Good Luck Sassy :)

Ive set the V+ to record the Great North Run and im off out on an LSR in about an hour and a half.

Hope everyones having a great weekend with lots of running :) x x

Good luck sassy!!

Just been for a bike ride and went for a 3.3 mile run yesterday. It's strength training tomorrow. Really enjoying the little schedule I've got. Oh I've got my quarter marathon next Saturday. I don't feel ready at all but it'll be good fun so that's ok.

How long until your race M2A? How are you getting on rednurse?

Oh pos I got some insoles for my shoes the other day and tried them out and it was brilliant. My legs and shins didn't hurt at all! Well worth the £15.

Well done on your bike ride Mel, do we have a tri-athlete amongst us?

Not long at all hun, 4 weeks today :)
20 miles done and dusted for me today, i feel so much more confident now ive done that. I took a pic of my garmin as I was waddling home :)

What do you think of while you're running?! That's a really long time to keep your mind busy and to spur yourself on.

Pah Im no triathlete...Im the worst swimmer in the world lol. It's just a bit of cross training. I had Paige on the back asleep! She love it pointing to all the horses and sheep. It's one of the runs Id planned to do so it was nice to ride it first.
