Mummies Running Club :D

Hi sunny girl  I also need to be braver & run in the evenings. At the mo I only do mornings which is really restricting as means can only run on my days off. Are you running at all at the moment? Xx

Not at all :(
We're in the middle of moving house, and there's just no time. It's so frustrating. I love the way running makes you feel and I miss it. Xx

One week-Eek! The final countdown. You are so ready though, I know you'll do well :)
Im not long back from a 16 mile run. My longest yet! 3 weeks and one day to go for me so hope to do an 18 miler next weekend then I think I'll be ready. My aim is to get around in under five hours, I really hope to do it :-)
Sunnygirl hopefully you'll get out soon? You sound very busy at the moment. I know what you mean about how good running makes you feel. I stopped for ages and really missed it.
How's everyone else getting on? Xxxx

Well done on your 16miler Rednursie, how do you feel?
I didnt manage to get out on the bike today so i attacked my legs with my foam roller instead while listening to the latest podcast of marathon talk, as you do on a sunday night!
One of the lads from work did a marathon today, he put so much effort into his training and ive just checked the results and he come in at 6:40, getting slightly worried now because we have been discussing our training after each week and all though my 20mile training time was faster, he put in a lot more training than I have and he hasnt had the injury set backs i have had either. I suppose what will be will be.
Come across this ive posted it on fb so i thought id post it on here too :)

My feet and calves are very achy to be honest. Achy feet is a strange feeling. I must admit I've been rubbish at using the foam roller so you've just prompted me to get it out for a bit now! I know my calves are still really tight.
I wonder what happened your friend? I hope hes alright. I guess you just don't know what can happen on the day, we can only plan for so many things.
I stocked up on gels today (I've stuck with the SIS as I've been getting in well with them) and I bought a pouch to run with. I'll easily fit 5 gels in there and a couple of packets of jelly beans. Also bought some running socks :) 7 more sleeps for you now!

I wont see him till Wednesday as hes took a couple of days off, i hope hes ok too!
How are you feeling this morning Rednursie?
After a long run the best thing to do is cool down and stretch then get in a cold/ice bath, it helps your muscles recover quicker but its quite a shock to the system first time around and sit very still if your going to try it otherwise its unbearable! x x

I feel okay thanks. Thought i would be a lot more achy. I guess i did cool down and stretch fairly well thiugh yesterday. I'm off to work now. I'll be on my feet walking around all day which I'm guessing is a good thing so as not to stiffen up. 12.5 hours day today and tomorrow so meeting my pt on Wednesday &will do short runs then and Thursday as working Friday through Sunday then (Not a good rota for me this week!) I am very tempted with the ice bath but will have to leave it until after the marathon when I'm at my mums as we don t have a bath here (a downside of living on a boat),
Happy Monday to everyone, I hope your weeks gets off to a good start xxxx

Its great that your feeling ok, means your body is adapting to the distance :)

Since ive come into work and everyone keep asking how im feeling and telling me there isnt long ect im started to feel full of nervous energy and its only Monday! x x

M2A you sound like you're going great guns. I'm still so impressed! I'd love to do a marathon. And a tri. They're my long-term goals.

Rednursie - 16 miles wow!! How long did it take you to get up to that level? Before baby, I was at 10k, which took me around nine months. What's that in miles?

I'm out for a run on Saturday. It's been decided!!

10k is 6.2miles hun. You will be shocked when you start running regularly how quick your fitness picks up after having a little one. I only started back running in Feb and im covering 20mile training runs, to be fair ive probably done it all a bit quick and its showing by the injuries ive picked up along the way but if you follow a plan (theres loads on the internet) you could be running a half marathon in about 16 weeks and then once you've built your base up its will be about another 16 weeks till your ready to complete a full one.
Give me a shout if you need any help finding a decent training plan hun because there are quite a few out there! x x

Sunny girl this time around its taken me about 5 months really but I've previously done half marathons so wasn't exactly new to running. I used to stick to 10ks & once in a blue moon I did a half. Ive never been a consist or fast runner though so this is probably the best I've been. I've been following a 16 week trading plan for my marathon which is just under three weeks away xxx

I forgot to tell you ladies I went a bit mad in runners need after my run on Sunday. Felt a bit guilty afterwards. I bought some gels, running beans (made by the jelly bean complany) nike dri fit socks, runners world magazine and finally a pouch to run with. I shall test the pouch out tomorrow on my short run, it seems comfy and like it will do the trick. Oh and I also bought some organic beetroot shots in holland and barrett :-) xxx

You're all doing so well!! m2a how are you feeling?

Scared, scared and even more scared. I can actually relate it slightly to waiting to give birth the first time! The butterflies are there, the thought of the unknown is there, the thought can i actually do it is there, the thought of how much is it going to hurt is there (obviously not as much as childbirth, i hope!) but no new bouncy baby at the end just a medal and very tired legs! x x

That's a pretty good description! Have you heard how your friend who had his marathon at the weekend is?

Hes back in today, he said he wanted to give up at mile 9, so sounds like just a bad race day really, he said hes still in pain today though x x

I know, i just goes to show that you can put as much training as you can in before but it cant guarantee whats going to happen on the day!

Ive got my last run tonight eeekk! x x

Poor guy, I hope he's ok, does he think he'll do another one in the future? Hope you have a good run tonight M2A :-)

Good luck on your last run hunni! Only three more sleeps now (as if you need reminding lol) I had a beetroot shot before my run this morning-There are no words to describe the taste!

Thank Sassy and Rednursie, my kits all laid out ready for when the kids go to bed, when is the question though as A has just threw the biggest tantrum because hes so tired!

Ive just got 5 of the beet it sports shots ready for tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday, dont know what the difference but i hope there is one as they seemed to be more expensive?? x x
