Mummies Running Club :D

It does start to get easier Pos, stick with it.
The best way to look at it from the start is to increase the time rather than than the distance, the longer you are running the more your body is getting used to the way it needs to function during your exercise then when you start to feel more comfortable then look at your distance hun.
Anyway 3 miles is brilliant with you just starting back :) x x

Thanks Hun, I'm deffo going to stick with it and like you say try to increase my times x

That's really good advice RE running time as opposed to distance, that's what I used to do. It really helps your body. Keep up all the good work ladies :-) xx

Ive done an 8 miler in the rain tonight and i loved it, it was so cool :)
A couple of my runs have been cut short over the last few weeks, some my fault but some not, but with just over 10 weeks to go till I live my mad idea i need to focus on my training and nutrition, starting to think it might not of been brilliant timing with Elexia being at that stage where she is more aware and wont go to sleep when i put her to bed which means im getting out later and later each night x x

Well done on an eight miler in the rain! I hope your lo let's you get a better pattern soon though. You sound like youll be well prepared by the time the big day comes :)

Thanks hun, i cant decided what to do tonight, wondering whether to have a rest night or to go out and do some speed work, think ill see how i feel when i get home from work.
How everyone getting on? Whos got out pf girlies next race? x x

I was just thinking about speed work last night! I was wondering if I would benefit from it or increase my risk of injury. Hmmm. I'm following marathon rookies 16 week training plan which I'm managing (though tweaking here & there). It's designed to just get me around injury free. In my heart I would love to complete in under 5 hours though not sure how realistic that is! What sort of training plan are you following? xx

you ladies are so good, m2a 8 miles in the rain is fantastic!

well i'm feeling more 'positive' today :) i took ur advice ladies and stuck to trying to increase my time and guess what...i done the three miles 14 MINUTES quicker!!!! which shows how bad i was on monday lol.

the half marthon still feels like a mountain to climb but at least its already got a little easier. xx

Well done pos that's fab!! Don't let the bad days get you down-As long as you get out the next day you'll keep improving. I just did five miles- very happy with that but my left knee & ankle are a bit achy :-(

Well done pos that's fantastic!!!

If any of us needed any motivation then that was it, what a women Jess Ennis is x x

Hi ladies, can I join you!? I agree I want Jess Enni's body.... her tum and arms are amazing...

I have been away for a week following my failed ivf cycle last week, so I'm going to get back to shape again, used to play england womens ice hockey, so used to be soo much fitter before I had my son in 2011 and I think getting back into fitness will help me fall preg and make me feel better in myself too.

Going to dust of my running machine, I like to run first thing in morning but, my sons always wakes when I move (he is in my room!), so I will have to switch to evening after dinners gone down maybee... or sunday/mondays if oh can take him out, play upstairs etc... (can't run outside so much as hibby works nights, would like to run with my daughter who likes running, but don't want to start something I might want to stop when ivf again and don't want her wondering why!! tricky..

You ladies are all brilliant running miles!!
I always used to set myself an indoor distance challenge, like london marthon or we once walked to bornmouth and back, (virtual one!), before me and two mates took our kids there... makes it more of a target..

Hi JJMum, im sorry to hear about your failed IVF :( :hugs:
Welcome to the pf running thread :)

There was more motivation if we need it in Mo Farrar, what a man, what a race x x

I was gonna go for a run today..... but didn't :oooo: does that count?
I do a 4 mile route :)

Im back!

Went for my first run today and it felt good :D I didn't want to be I forced myself to go slowly and did 5 minutes running followed by 5 minutes walking x2. So a nice and gentle 20 minute run so did 2.5k. On Monday Im signing up for the local quarter marathon so Ive got a target. Hoping to do it in less than 1:10 as I did the 10k in July in 1:19. Next run is on Monday. Going to do 7.5 minutes running and 2.5 minutes walking for 20 minutes. Slow and steady.

And princess that totally counts...you were running in your mind

I didnt know you ran Jayne, how you finding getting out with a little one?

Had a lot my my mind and a lot going on the last few days, so running hasnt been on my mind :(
But now things are looking up in other areas, my mind is back on the game. I was limping with my knee on Friday again it just doesnt seem to be getting better so ive thought about it and if i dont train my marathon dream is over so im going to strap it up and continue training, hoping for the best and hoping it will get me over that finish line against the advice of everyone. So im off out this morning to get some physio strapping and hopefully once the kids are in bed i can get out x x
