Mummies Running Club :D

I don't blame you for not realising, it must be around 18 months since I last ran?! I can't do it with the babe, as his dad works on the mainland I can't do it and our pram is not suitable for jogging with. I'm gonna have to rely on our gym at work for fitness really :( but I used to go 3-4 times per week x

Jayne you have the bugaboo don't you? That's what I jog round the park with and find it really good! Will always has a little nap and on the smooth concrete the bugaboo literally glides across.

Iv ran 4 times this week and just getting ready to go out again but this time OH will be watching Will so hopefully I will have a good jog :)

Xx

JJ and Princess

I'm just waiting for C to go down for a nap then I'm off out for a run. 2.5 weeks til my 10k

I think I'm going to too princess  I've not done nearly enough training but that's me all over.

I never seem to put in the proper training, I think I'm scared that if I do train loads and then I do crap, I'll be cross with myself, whereas if I don't train a lot, and not do well then I can blame it on my lack of training iykwim.

When I come away with a good time when I don't train loads, then I'm chuffed with myself and I'm like imagine what I could have done if I did train.

I entered the London marathon a few years ago and for ages was only running twice a week (up to 10 miles) I upped my training 4 weeks prior to the marathon and only got up to 16 miles. I got round and was pleased with my time but then I was thinking if I'd done more training I could have done better, so I go round in circles. I'm my own worst enemy lol

I've just ran 1.71 miles (random distance but its a loop near my house). When I first ran it at the end of May it took me 17mins14 and today it took me 14mins06 so at least there's an improvement, now if only I could keep the speed up for the 10km but I'm not fit enough to keep that going.... :wall2:

Just done 3 miles in 45 minutes! So happy :) I know it's slow compared to u lot of fitties but I'm
So pleased with myself :yay: my best time so far. Last Monday it took me 1 hour 6 minutes to do that :oooo:

Xx

I'd love to start running but never get chance to :( what with OH always working I don't have anyone to watch Sophie while i go out :(

I saw some woman going for a jog with a pram once, maybe do that?

Well done hun, that's a fab improvement :yay: you're doing so well!!

Well done everyone :)

Pos thats fab, what an improvement, you should be pleased with yourself.

Im just watching the olympic marathon thinking OMG ive got to run that distance in just over 9 weeks, but im so excited as well. Never do it in the time these amazing ladies do though.

Really looking forward to going out tonight just hope my knee is ok :( x x

Well........ I did it! I 'ran' 4 miles in 50 mins. It normally takes me about 40 I think  o/h was stood at the door looking at his watch like wtf!!! He asked if I'd walked it, poohead :(

4miles is awesome princess! And sod the time-You ran FOUR MILES! You have to be pretty fit to do that! Only in the last few weeks ive been pushing myself further, mileage wise. If I dwelled on how long each long run took me I'd cry every time! Does your oh run? Sod it, lets give ourselves credit. Takes a fair bit of motivation to get off our asses & run. I know I enjoy it once I get into it but it's not exactly a walk in the park-Excuse the stupid pun!
I'd planned doing a ten miler today (longest so far is 8.25) as have a half marathon next Sunday. BUT......had a slightly late one last night. Not hungover as didn't drink just feel a bit bleugh! Oh on his way home from work one then we're gonna go for lunch so fingers crossed I'll get off my ass later on & make my self compromise and do a nine miler. :)

I really want to start running more, ive got a treadmill and I seriously cannot run for more than a minute without gettin chest pains! I'm so unfit! I want to lose a stone. Any tips? X

Have you tried doing 1min run, 1min walk hun? Then you can increase to 2mins run, 1 min walk x x

Thanks RN I felt really deflated by him but he decided to apologise and say well done for making the effort
He's not a runner as such, but he's a marine so they have to undergo vigorous physical endurance assessments for work so my attempts seem pants to him.'they have to do ten minute miles in full uniform, including boots, carrying 22lbs of weight :oooo:

No I haven't tried that I'll give it a go! Gotta start somewhere haven't you! X

It's a good suggestion, getting your heart rate fluctuating between resting and exertion is a good way to improve your fitness :)

Sounds odd but running is the only time I can really 'relax' as in just let my mind go? Takes a while, granted, but when initial fatigue wears off & I'm enjoying it its such a good feeling. Proper 'me time'. Especially listening to my favourite tunes. My ex used to have a go at me saying I couldn't be running well enough if I could enjoy listening to music at the same time! Plonker. But then he also used to say I'd never run a half marathon & I'm running my third next week haha! If all goes to plan I shall be doing my first full marathon 31st october! Xxx

Hey Hun

I am currently over 3 stone overweight and never ran until recently (jog not actually run). Anyway i find it very hard work but what I can say is the improvement is fast even tho compared to others I'm slow but for me it's such an achievement! Give it a go I promise it gets easier xx
