***March 2020 mummies!***

Hi all not posted in a while so thought I would give an update.

34+1 today, baby was measuring big at my 34 week appointment, the midwife forgot to chart me at 31 weeks so I don’t know if it’s a sudden growth or not, it weights about 6lb according to my chart, anyone know if this is normal, I’ve only bought newborn clothes which are up to 9lbs

1st antenatal class was on Wednesday all about labour and delivery, I enjoyed it, OH was horrified at a few things. We have most of the stuff we need now, bought the Pram finally, have gone for Navy blue, just need to start packing my hospital bag, has anyone packed theirs?

I've packed my bags for the hospital, 1 for baby and 1 for me
Also started to wash the mountain of baby clothes I've got in new born and 0-3 months!
I'm feeling really rubbish now, just so drained. Roll on the next 5.5 weeks!

Not completely packed yet, but started putting things in. Started washing some bits from ds that we can use again. Waiting now to hear what they say size wise on Monday before I start packing baby clothes...might not be much point in taking newborn stuff! :rotfl:
ive got a labour bag and a post birth bag. So things like tens, fan, snacks, nightie etc in labour bag. I have to go in as soon as I go into labour due to group b strep and needing antibiotics.

6lbs at 34 weeks sounds on the big side to me, but not ridiculously so, but I have no idea what normal would be. I don’t think my chart gives any indication of weight. But from just measuring your tummy it can be quite inaccurate, are they giving you a growth scan?

Your bag sounds almost identical to mine @Niknaknoo!

6lbs at 34 weeks sounds quite big to me @Clairexx89, but that's because my app says baby gains 0.5lb a week this point onwards. I wouldn't put too much faith in measurements though - even those from growth scans. I know so many people who've been told to expect 'big' babies then go overdue and still only have a 7lber. It's not an exact science and can put fear into some people (although apparently bigger babies are easier to birth so could be a bonus!!)

my midwife didn’t seem concerned about the size, she just marked it way above my line and said I had been feeding it well. It’s still breach so if that’s the case at 36 weeks i be sent for a scan for that.

I will just see at 36 weeks what I measure at, then might have a better idea if the clothes I have bought will fit, I was planning on packing a bag for me and a bag for baby, but might change that, Think I’m going to start packing my things this week and I will do the babies at 36 weeks.

That seems sensible! They all have spurts at different times. I haven't started packing babies bag yet. I still have so much to wash and cant face it!

@Clairexx89 i just looked at my chart again and I never noticed the weight at the other side! it’s looking like I’m around 6lbs at 32 weeks :? growth scan today though so hopefully she isn’t that big! Will let you know how I get on!

Had the scan, all is well. Measurements put her on 86th centile, so large but still within the normal range thankfully.
Here’s hoping she comes a week or two early and not overdue!

On my last growth scan at 32 weeks baby is measuring at just over 50th centile and estimated at 2177g which is around 4.7lb

Got another scan at 37 weeks... So according to my scans he's a petite baby but still think they Coukd easily be wrong as I've read loads about these scans being inaccurate?

@Niknaknoo how does the growth scan compare to the midwifes measurements? Are they similar or quite far off?
Miles off! Here’s a pic of the difference...the x was first measurement and the circle today

@Alexis2017 that shows you how small the difference is, my estimated weight today was 2226g, only 50g difference!

Ive got my results from growth scan tomorrow.
Sonographer said she was on track and weighing approx 3lb 14oz at 32 weeks but lets see what the consultant says tomorrow.

I keep getting a pain right next to my belly button. It hasn't popped yet so wondering if maybe thats going to happen.

Also finding it extremely uncomfortable bending down now. Im avoiding it at all costs haha x

Yep, no more bending down! Oh has been doing loads of work in the house, it’s great having an excuse to not chip in!
That weight sounds good @Nattles33 !
My belly button never popped with ds, it’s gone really flat and stretched now, I don’t think it will go out this time either.

My belly button popped a few weeks ago. Have an awful achy bruised type feeling around it for about 10 days before it went! This is not glamorous haha.

I've just had a look at my growth chart based on midwife's measurements, and I'm measuring at 3.5lbs. Fridays scan cant come quickly enough!

Edited to add - I also never noticed the weight measurement section before either! Good to know.

Im feeling like my favourite trimester was the 2nd trimester lol. As I didnt really have any 'problems' then haha.

I've just told hubby that my finger tips feel like ive burnt them on the oven. That'll be the carpel tunnel.

Also becoming extremely difficult to shave :x

This made me giggle. Sorry! Yes 3rd tri does seem to bring on any issues. Shaving? What's that?!? On a serious note, I stopped shaving my legs around christmas time as I struggle to lean down and if I sit my hips wont let me get back up. As for other areas.... hubby has offered but I'm not letting him near me with a razor

:rotfl::rotfl:
Well my friend said try doing it in the bath if that fails I've told hubby he either puts up with it or does it for me hahaha.
His reply 'well if you want to be cut' no thanks  I'll just be hairy :rotfl:

Haha I still cant get under bump even in the bath!

:talkhand: Oooh no! If you're going to be cut at any point prior to baby arriving, it should only be to ensure safe delivery! Not by menfolk with less than honourable intentions :rotfl:
