***June 2019 Mummies***

Hello ladies,

Sounds like everyone has had a great mother's day.

We celebrated mother's day on Saturday as my mum stole my child on mother day lol. Was woken to a lovely breakfast in bed, followed by cards and presents. Relaxed most of the day but then ended up in the antenatal day assessment unit at hospital. I'd been having ripping/pulling pains under my bump. As it was so near to my c-section scar they wanted me in to do checks. Everything is OK though, they eventually decided it was just horrific ligament pain. Lovely present from the bump on our early mothers day lol.

We're pretty set on names, she's going to be called Darcie Louise Gray. We don't have many Darcie where I live so it's not an overly common name. And Louise is after my sister, her name is actually Claire but it doesn't go so where using her middle name haha.

We've also not started her nursery... Mainly because we don't have one lol. We're currently in a 3 bed house so will need to move in the near future. She's going to have her own little corner in our room for now. And will sort her a room once we move. I have done a massive declutter though, so we have space for all her bits and pieces.

31+4 now, time seems to be flying by! Just hope I manage to pull my finger out and get organised in time for her arrival. I've been so lack with prep lol

Xx
Darcie is my all time favourite girls name but my OH doesn't like it so i had to take it off the list :( xx

I was also thinking he’d look very skinny, but I’m so glad I went Saturday. We used window to the womb and upgraded to HD Live, it was definitely worth it!

Darcie is a cute name, my little ones best friend at nursery is Darcie. Her little gang is Darcie, Dylan, Dasie and then her-naughty Niamh haha!

I’m so excited to have this baby now! We picked a set we liked in Dunelm but curtains were far too big and expensive for our tiny window! So I made my first pair of curtains yesterday! Took about 8 hours, but I’m so impressed with them! You wouldn’t know they were orignally a couple of fitted sheets!

Loving the 3d scans ladies. Iv got my growth scan this week, interested to see how big she is.... or small if they are right. She was very very active last night. Had feet right under my ribs most the night. So tired zzzz

Glad you all had an nice day yesterday. We got all the painting done in the nursery so just the carpet to go down now

I’m really struggling with my lower back at the moment it’s only on one side but I’m hobbling and it hurts putting pressure on that one leg. At the midwife on weds so gonna speak to her then.

Sounds like a trapped nerve Smcx, hopefully the midwife will be able to recommend something to help ease it.

I know this has been said before, but oh my god the acid/heartburn! These last two days has seen it really ramp up. It feels like it's constant and nothing helps apart from the double action liquid gaviscon.

Baby has been ridiculously active today. She's had hiccups twice and seems to be on the go all the time. Luckily she stays away from the ribs.

Complaining over lol hope everyone is OK. Loving the scan pics! Xx

I spent the weekend gardening and hosting an afternoon tea for Mother's Day for my whole immediate family so I've completely overdone it and I'm really paying for it now! The nerve in my leg is so irritated it feels like there's boiling water constantly running down my leg! But hubby will finish putting stuff into the attic on Saturday, will get all of the baby things down from the attic, put up her wardrobe then I can start washing everything and we'll be ready! I can't believe it's only 8 weeks until I have the stitch out so need to be ready for then xx

Hope your feeling ok I spent yesterday clearing out my dads flat - it’s nearly done now but really felt it today.
I’m got around 8 weeks till section so really need to start getting organised xx

I'm 8wks 2days til due date! There's a few of us that's pretty flipping close to the big day isn't there?! The closer it gets the more nervous I feel.

Unicorn and caz, hope you both manage to rest up now. Xx

Oh it’s exciting to think there could couple baby’s born around the same time. I really like name Darcie too- I think we going with either Isabelle or Belle.
My partner brought the baby this gorgeous pink all in one coat but I’m worried the baby won’t get any wear out of it being May/June time - is anyone buying coats for babies? Xx

Wow I can’t believe how close some of us are! I’ve got 9weeks left doesn’t seem that long ago we was all waiting for our 20wk scans!!x

Thank you, that's definitely going to be my priority now xx

Nope I'm not buying any coats, my last baby born in June spent most of his first months of live either in a nappy only or vest. I think clothes wise I'll stick with the essentials and buy the rest when she's here and know how hot it is and how big she is lol xx

You're all making me jealous lol Iv still got 12 weeks left and really starting to struggle now.
Being pregnant with 2 kids is blooming hard, esp when you have to get up to get them ready for school and all you wanna do is sleep ir hibernate

Don't worry Marvellous, I've still got 11 weeks left until due date so hoping to go until then and I'm also struggling with a very active little one! Xx

Yep struggling here too. Tiredness has really hit hard again. Alarm went off at 6am...didnt drag my backside out of bed til 6.30am. Little one wanted cuddles in mummy's abd daddy's bed, I was only too happy to oblige lol.

Everything is taking much longer to do. Just cleaning up is a killer, have to stop for a breather after I've hoovered.

Couldn't get comfy last night, feel like I've not slept this morning. Going to do the school run, tidy round and hopefully grab a nap.

Hope everyone has good days xx

Are any of you ladies in your final weeks having dodgy bowel movements? I’m finding over the last week I’ve been very lose and watery. Still only going once a day though and I feel fine.
I did babysit last weekend and the child had poo disaster twice whilst I was looking after him and then his mum got it. But I’ve not felt how she has, just mine are not solid when I go. Sorry for the tmi!!

Few of my friends have said it’s normal in these final weeks. I’m going to speak to my midwife tomorrow about it though

Smcx, I wish, I seem to be having the opposite at the moment. And such bad heartburn. I'm going to ask the doctor for something for it at my appointment tonight as its stopping me sleeping.

Smcx, yes I've noticed a change in bowel habits. I was constipated, but over the last 3 days or so it's changed. I'm now going daily and it's a lot softer than normal and more of it too! Also noticed I get tummy ache just before going, like it's all moving a little too fast and I really have to go lol. Just generally feeling well in myself. I'm guessing it's all to do with changes in hormones etc

Abi, heartburn is horrific at the min. You can take gaviscon when needed. I have an industrial size bottle next to my bed as it seems to be in the evening that I need it more. Hopefully the doc can give you something similar when you go x

Have any of you ladies chosen to have an elective caesarean? I have a consultant appointment to discuss options next month and wondered if they are likely to agree to it or whether they will do their best to convince me to go natural...

I injured my tailbone in Dec 2017 and still can't sit down for long periods without a coccyx cushion/being in a lot of pain. The physio I saw mentioned my pelvis may have also shifted position after the accident which terrifies me the baby might get stuck on his way out. Also struggling with SPD, clunky hips and back issues and concerned a natural birth could cause even more lasting damage, let alone being very painful when baby's head pushes against my tailbone.

I was so looking forward to trying a waterbirth and if I knew it would be very painful but baby would get out safely I would 100% go for that! However the more I read up about women who have been in similar situations the more I'm leaning towards asking for an elective c-section. Apparently it doesn’t mean you can’t try a natural birth next time and as we want more than one baby it would give my coccyx a few more years to recover which would only be a good thing. Are they allowed to refuse if they don't agree?

Has anyone had a c-section previously? What was your recovery like? Did it impact being able to breastfeed? Has anyone had a vaginal birth after a c-section previously?

Sorry lots of questions, feel like I'm going round and round in my head with what I want to do :(

I have been told that I'm 50/50 for being allowed a waterbirth but it's also quite possible they will schedule a section depending on how things look closer to the time. My boss was quite reassuring and said that a scheduled or elective section is quite calm especially compared to her first which was an emergency. Healing time is also better when it's scheduled as you aren't exhausted from labour and they can take their time a bit more with the whole procedure. With her first the doctors were all focused on getting her son out ASAP for medical reasons. Obviously the right thing to do but she said after the elective she was up and about within a couple of days and was generally much stronger.

I'm not sure how it works on the NHS though as I'm abroad and it's all health insurance here so the hospital are quite willing to book you in for whatever you want. If you want to go for the waterbirth can they send you to a specialist to do scans of the pelvis or something? My mum had to have lots of scans to check her pelvis with me and my sister as we were both breech so they needed to check we would fit but that was 30 years ago and they might have different policies now. Can you mention what the physio said to a doctor or midwife and see what they suggest?
