*** June 2015 Mummies ***

Lovely Pic Charlie and glad things are going well.

Dont know about anyone else but I like to have a read of the May thread and some them are due their babies so soon. Cant believe that it is May on Friday! X

Babyscotcher - I am also guilty of dropping in to other months (especially those due before us) to see how everyone is doing and how they are preparing :D

May on Friday eeeeek! Especially weird as my baby would only need to be two days early to be may born.... What the?!!!!!

Haha... I only posted the same thing earlier babyscotcher... Technically my niece was a May baby.

Fab pic charlie x

Awww gorg pic Charlie!! Brill news for you. Do you have a section date yet?

Tmi alert: I tried and failed miserably at a perineal massage. I could barely even reach past my bump and through my legs... Then couldn't remotely work out what to do (and I had read on several places what to do). So I think my perineum is just gonna have to wing it :-/

However I did indeed note that like a few of you other ladies I am fairly swollen down there. And I have not a clue how a baby is going to fit out :'( ... Trying not to panic!

That's a great pic Charlie!

My midwife said that was a job for Daddy to be Colettey ;)...x

I appear to have bed sores or something forming? Just at the top of my thigh, technically I believe the magazines call them saddle bags but my mum has them and she weighs 8 stone so I find that rude! Anyway, they are red and dry with a weird texture and I recognise whatever it is from the documentaries of really overweight people who are bed bound etc. (I know that's very specific but I like documentaries) and I think it's from lying on my side all the time x

No date yet, I'm seeing consultant on Friday so should be getting booked in then!! Scary!!! Haha! Exciting all at once xx

Lol belfa - I'll see if hubby is up for the challenge haha!! Tho needs to be done like twice a day to make a difference!!! Who has time for that!?

I can totally believe the bed sore thing. I am so uncomfy in bed - my legs ache so bad when I wake up from lying on the one side for so long. Have u got a good moisturiser to keep the patches at bay? I've not noticed anything like that on me... Yet! Tho I did notice a wee rash under my boobs - think from their growth! So I need to make Sure im drying under them properly! Glam life eh!?

Collettypie sounds a bit random but try spraying antiperspirant under and between your boobs, my rash has gone lol..

Just finished building the bassinet for the snuzpod. It had to be done.

Lol Colettey - I had/have the same thing and they get really itchy under there too. I started doing what Lucy suggested (spraying antiperspirant) and it made a slight difference :) I try as much as possible to not wear a bra though!

Got our parent craft class tonight, first one, and I really cant wait, neither can OH :)

xx

I have a silly question - are maternity pads and the 'heavy flow' pads basically the same?

Or do I need maternity pads as they will be the only thing that's able to cope with the tidal wave that is post birth bleeding?

x

I haven't opened the maternity pads yet but the midwife showed us one at our antenatal class (the men were horrified ) and they look a lot thicker, almost like a cushion, which I think will be nice to sit on too ;).

I started putting cream on my "sores" last night so hopefully they bugger off! x

Yeah maternity pads are thicker, I wouldn't say they're any better than 'super' pads but the extra padding is nice if you're sore down below. I kept wearing them after I stopped bleeding as my stitches were so sore!

I've put sudocrem under my boobs a couple of times as they were getting sore!

Ta Belfa and Buggy! Couldn't find maternity pads in superdrug this morning but that's probably because I didn't want the guy standing next to me to know what I was getting. Ridiculously embarrassed for some reason :) May just buy on amazon that way no one will know - God forbid!

DH has just called to say that one of my wee dogs is really ill :(. He's had really off days of random sickness for a few weeks but then bounces back the next day but he's been consistently ill for the past 24 hrs and passed blood this morning and DH thankfully dropped in to the house there to get something and found the house covered in blood :(.

I really want to call home to see if he's got a hold of the vet but at the same time I can't face to hear what's wrong with him x

Oh gosh Belfa. Hope he bounces back from this one too. Fingers, toes and everything else crossed for you! Keep us updated. Sometimes is awful not knowing whats happening.

I got maternity pads from mothercare Pismo! No idea what they are like tho - haven't even opened them yet!! I presume are thicker - for the lovely reasons as stated above (can't wait for those sore stitches :-o)!

I also got a few of those maternity sheets....to line my side of the mattress. Just don't want to ruin my mattress if my bleeding is really bad. Also might use in run up to birth in case my waters break in the middle of the night.

Great idea on sudocrem - i just bought some for the baby (a huge tub on promotion). Might try that and see how i get on. I actually use rollerball deoderant so would need to buy spray! But can do that if doesn't clear :)

Awww no Belfa, hope your wee dog is okay. That will be stressing you out :( xx

I thought of the sudocrem as I use it on DD. Worked a treat.

My stitches were only sore because they started to come apart and then got infected. I'd say the pain I experienced with that was worse than the labour! I was unlucky though (usually am!)

Sorry about your dog Belfa, hope it'll be ok :)

I'm getting a lot of BH now and my bladder is ridiculously squashed, it feels full and I can feel baby pushing on it but it's not actually full up, doesn't get a chance!

Thanks guys, he's the one that is like a little baby. He only weighs 3kg's and gets carried round like a baby wrapped up etc. Vet is in surgery atm but has a note to call DH asap. We take him to a specialist vet as, being a Pomeranian, they get odd pedigree issues which we've found our village vet is useless at diagnosing so we've lost a lot of trust fro anything more than vaccines with them.

Coletteypie where did you get your maternity sheet from? I would not be happy if I ruined my mattress!

Pismo I think Amazon is a good shout, I got mine in boots and they were with the nappies etc (think it was buy 2 get 1 free).

When I was in Primark buying nighties and a dressing gown (I needed a size 18-20 dressing gown to get it closed!) I had a bit of a brain wave with what to wear during labour. They had loads of Kaftans in for summer and I thought that would be nice and light as they are designed to be worn in hot climates after all! x
