*** June 2015 Mummies ***

Oh dear Karen! I have horrible dreams like that too some nights.

Coletteypie I've also been using going to the loo just as an excuse to get up and have something to do to break lying there awake. I find my hips are starting to get sore from all my weight and lying on my side.

I'm starting to think my baby is massive. I know it's probably normal at this stage to be able to see them turning round in your tummy from the outside but it still makes me think he's going to be huge!

Toys r us still have their offer on too though you might get more from Asda if you do the 2 for £16. I saw some nice corned and Moses basket sheets but am struggling to find fitted crib sheets at a reasonable price x

There's an Aldi opposit my mum so will be stocking up, my brother is using them on their LO.

Back from meeting my newborn niece... She is really dinky, so delicate but so lovely. My mum had my other niece who is 4 so helped her a bit with her, I'm exhausted now, she got really clingy with me and didn't want me to go home, guess my bump reminded her of mummy. Home now anyway, need a sleep.

Glad you got some family time Lucy though kids are tiring...how will we cope..lol!

On the subject of nappies, we got the Asda newborns today - pack of 72 for £5! Thought was good. At our antenatal class they only spoke about reuseables which I thought was interesting, will see what the feeding workshops like and if they only mention boob...! x

They are tiring but lovely.. Lol..

At my BF workshop the lady told us about self expressing and advised to get a cheapy manual pump, but not to use breast shields etc..got my antenatal class on sat.

Sorry if TMI but does anyone feel like their lady bits are swollen?? Mine feel 3 times the size..

Yeah lucyboo mines too, it's the increased blood flow to the area makes it swell and go darker in colour :/

Guys, starting to freak out that I will have a little human to care for soon and I have no idea how to look after one. My main concern at the moment is blankets..what do I wrap him in at night when I'm putting him in his moses basket, what about when I'm out and about and he's in his pram? Terrified ill do something wrong! :s

We didn't get on too great with Aldi nappies. Tesco's own are good though and I really like Sainsbury's own too. We sometimes get pampers if they're on offer/we have coupons.

Scan day today! Been 6 weeks since last one! So nervous! Hopefully his cyst has stayed at bay and he's measuring ok in there! Will Send you pics if they give us one :) xx

Good luck Charlie.
6 weeks left until due date tomorrow. Can't wait!

Oh man bad night sleep. I just can't get comfy at all anymore :( sob sob.

I found the asda event a bit disappointing :(! But my local asda isn't the best, so don't think I had all the options a bigger one would have had! I did get nappies & wipes, cotton wool etc. But no Johnson packs - they had none left!! So will need to keep my eye out for other offers.

Heybabya - have you been to your ante natal classes yet? We got told to use cellular blankets for newborn rather than the sleeping bags - but not wrapping up too tight - so allowing their wee arms to get loose. And tucking any excess fabric down the bottom of the matress so baby can't wriggle down. Haha i am more panicking about the birth than the actual baby part yet! But think is pretty natural to be nervous about what to do. I'm relying on those old maternal insticts kicking in ;-)!

Morning ladies!

Charlie - Good luck for today, fingers and toes crossed for you sweet.

Heybabya - Don't worry too much, I had DS 8years ago and feel the very same as you. It will be a learning curve but you'll do fab. A lot of it you'll manage to figure out yourselves in the first few weeks. And, if you find you have questions, come here - We'll all be going through the same :)

Maternity leave started although it just feels like a normal day off so far. Going to start buying some hospital bag 'essentials' and a few more maternity clothes bits as I am really struggling and often look quite scruffy :(

xx

Glad it's not just me heybabya

Good luck charlie..

Was looking at the May thread, some of them are in week 39... That will be us in a month...

I feel scruffy too Pismo! Not spending any more money now though. I'll have to make do for a bit longer...

I'm going to buy myself a loose fitting casual dress that I can wear home from the hospital though x

I've got the day off but DD has been asleep for the last hour and a half so not been out yet!

Well my appointment was at 12 and I'm still waiting!

I live in kimonos now haha! Got them in winter in the sale in preparation for summer! Very comfy and look lovely and summery! Xx

Yeah, finished up the classes last week. Never said anything about how to actually care for a baby haha. Just positions for labour, pain relief and how to get into the hospital/visiting times etc. At least there will be a midwife coming to see us for the first ten days! haha!

Thank you! I have no clue, i'll get some of those blankets!

Baby Hayden :) all perfect! Weighing around 4lb7 now so not gonna be a massive baby! Cyst no longer visible so hopefully it's gone :)

He's head down now and looking like he's getting ready to make an early appearance! Exciting but hope he hangs on at least 4 more weeks!

He's very squashed now because of the size of my womb, as you can see on the pic he is using placenta as a comfy pillow and his nose is squashed against the wall of my womb! She couldn't get to his legs for ages, said they are tucked up under my ribs out the way! Little monkey! Xx

That's good Charlie. Nice pic too x

I'm getting really pee'd off now! I tried to move hospital because the one I was at wasn't very good. The new one is now not seeming any better. I need to see the consultant from there ASAP, I got booked an appointment for April, that was cancelled and rebooked for May, that was cancelled and re-booked for June (day after my due date!) so I complained and they changed it back to May. I've been trying to at least speak to someone there on the phone as I'm getting a bit anxious now, only 6 weeks to go, threat of pre-term labour and no contact! I left a message Friday, someone just tried me about an hour ago but it was an awful line, I said I'd call her back. When I did there was no answer so back to square one. Worst bit it is I swear she said on the phone that consultant has now left, so I expect I'll get another letter cancelling my appointment again. It's getting ridiculous. I tried calling a general number for obstetrics and the person that deals with that goes home at 4pm! Arrgh!

Wow thats amazing Charlie! I love how clear scans can be now...

Buggy - Sorry your having such a terrible time with the hospital. Could you contact PALS at your hospital to make a complaint, that normally gets things done quicker!

x

I might just do that if I don't have any joy tomorrow!

Make sure you give them all the details and inform them as to why your so eager to speak with someone. They will often go out of their way to ensure the issue is resolved. I've had dealings with them (not a complaint about me!!) the same day a complaint has been made!!

xx
