*** June 2015 Mummies ***

Thanks, I'm forgetting about the big muslins I have, I'm they'd do after birth too.

I'm pretty sure I feel hiccups regularly, your description wasn't bad Pismo ;). I feel them down at my pant line and it's click a rhythmic heart beat or tick. It's quite subtle, more subtle than other movement but definitely noticeable x

Hello ladies, hope yous are all well today. I was knackered last night, my hips and back were so sore after going to park and a walk with lo. Think my spd is back with a vengeance, everything feels a little looser down there and I now have a waddle! It made me sad that I can't just take lo to park or be as active with her in our last few weeks as a twosome :( Also had a lot of pressure and fanny daggers down there last night. Im just becoming very aware of how heavily pregnant I am now.

Any way on a positive note ive most of my washing done, really took advantage of the lovely weather. Have the most of hosp bag, just need to throw it together so feeling a little more organised...phew!!

Lucy - glad to hear your feeling better today. Try to take it easy in work!

Coletteypie - my lo get hiccups all the time. Was hiccuping during the scan on tues lol. Mines feel down near panty line too and basically feels like a rhymic pulse/beat if that makes sense.

Belfa..our lo was a bit gunky after section, the hosp say they deliberately dont wash them straight away as the gunk benefits their skin or something? ! My oh got to dress lo pretty soon after birth I vaguely remember while we were still in recovery. Her little gro was a bit gross so id say use one u dont mind getting stinky. We just dressed her in a nice fresh one for visitors later that day. But that was a section, im not sure if a nat delivery would be different.

xx

Okay, i'll pay more attention cos I must be feeling hiccups and just putting it down to light baby kicks/punches. Do they just last a wee min or so?

Here's hoping you just try and take it easy. Sometimes my SPD is good and I do too much and end up regretting it! Is so hard cos you can remember all the things you could do so easily before and they are suddenly just not possible cos of this little baby sitting in our tummies!!

I too have had a lot of fanny daggers recently. I think my baby is poking and tormenting me for fun :) haha!

Wow it's busy on here today, hard to keep up when I'm working as only have my phone to pop on. Got home about an hour ago but stopped via asda as on website said the 125ml bottles of bio oil were £8 got there and there weren't any. Annoyingly you can't order that online. Prob need one more bottle... Baby been doing some funny movements today, I'm sure I had an elbow or knee, lol.. Glad I'm feeling loads better today, no sign of a headache and was very chilled and took my time. Oh and I spoke to my manager re my options when I go back to work, I got a chance of getting fixed days off if I am flexible, It doesn't really Matter so hopefully get my request in early.

Love the elephant stickers Belfa. Very cute.

I got a top and tail bowl for my hosp bag, do they not want you to wash the babies right away then?? Or is that not many people take them. I have no idea..

Colettypie baby was hickupping when I was on the monitor yesterday, was quite cute.

Crap about your childminder buggy.

Hey! Busy forum today!! Hope everyone's ok and getting their waddle on :) had my 34 wk midwife app today, baby was kicking her away when she was measuring me hehe! 6 more days at work eeeeeeeeek!!

There is such a thing as a top and tail bowl?? Where do I get one? I was wondering what I would put water in when washing.

You know when you see images of a newborn and they are covered in grey stuff? Apparently that's good for them, it's like a natural deep moisturizer or something so they like to leave them with it for a while.

As my hospital aims to discharge within 6hrs though I think they do it right before discharge! x

6 hours is just cuckoo belfa. I just can't understand that at all!

Haha yes I have seen top and tail bowls. I don't think you need to take to hospital Lucy. Apparently they do first wash with you...!? And I heard you haven't to properly bath baby like belfa said above - the gunk on them is all so nice and naturally good for them lol! Gross!

No way Karen, only 6 days! I suppose with teaching it is really tough being on your feet all day. Eeek we are starting to get close!

It is tiring but my replacement has started and teaching half of my timetable this week and doing all of it next week while I do reports and all that! Feels weird handing my job over!! Can't wait til we're all chilling (aherm) at home with our babies!!

I guess they will tell us a Bit at the antenatal class next week. Ah that's good to know colettypie. I remember when our nephew came home, he had all gunk in his hair and everything (yuk) I guess once they have been wiped down it's not so bad.

It's so exciting how we are all on the countdown now,

It will be your gunk Tho Lucy so you shouldn't mind as much lol!

Watching OBEM from last night. Greek man telling his wife she only has 3cm to go so she shouldn't have an epidural! Lol what a mean man! 3 cm can mean another 6 hours to go!! Such an eejit!

Haha. That's true. I think it's just the thought..

Didn't he call her a junkie too... I just watched it too.

Dropped DH at the station should he could go in to town to meet friends so picked up a chippy on the way home and when I got in one of my dogs arses had exploded all over the kitchen!!! Aaaargh!

Can't shift the smell and my chips went cold!

That's been my night....lol x

Argh Belfa! That sounds awful - You poor thing. My dog once did that whilst he was in my car boot on the way for a walk... Had to get rid of the boot liner :(

I lold at the OBEM man calling his partner a junkie - Would of had a few choice words for him!!

x

We don't have any pets anymore, thank god! I can't cope with pets and babies. I used to be a real animal lover but I'd happily never have another pet as long as I live now (although I may change my tune when the kids are grown up and I'm not needed by them so much!)

The gunk I think is called vernix? Lily didn't really have any as she was overdue, it tends to wear off by then, that's why they come out a bit sunburnt looking as they haven't had the vernix to protect their skin. They wiped off the blood etc but I don't think they washed her. She had dried blood in her hair for a day or two (we were told not to wash her right away, then just with plain water) it made her hair look really dark when it wasn't! She hated her first bath though, I thought it would be a nice experience but she screamed the whole time. From what friends have said their babies were the same!

I'm one of these self-confessed animal hoarders however, I do feel that already my priorities are changing and wind myself up everyday about it, either how much mess the dogs make with mud / hair or how much organisation the horses need as, no we have them at home, we have no one to help if we were to go away for a night. I daresay I will have to make some hard decisions once the baby arrives though there's not much I can do as two of them are crippled! x

Pets can be hard work! I know a lot of people cope with pets and a baby (or babies) but it was just too much for me, but then again I was trying to work from home too so I had enough on my plate x

Oh dear that is not good Belfa, I'm an animal lover... We have 1 cat and about 20 fish... That's all though.

Amazing news this afternoon, I became an Auntie to a beautiful little girl, 5lb 5oz, can't wait to meet her and have cuddles x

Ahh Lucy that is so exciting for you! Bet you're dying to meet her. So teeny! xx

I know, I prob won't see her until Sunday, she was born by planned C section at 35 weeks as SIL had bad pre eclampsia with her first. It's so exciting and means I'm next...
