*** June 2015 Mummies ***

That's a weird one babyscotcher - GD yet a small baby! Tho a wee baby might be preferable for pushing :-)!

Pismo - wouldn't say my bump feels sensitive. But the baby kicks are getting harder and I feel like I am being bruised a little bit.

Totally freaked out ladies.

After saying how rubbish I am at walking, decided to go for a longish walk with OH, walked for 45 mins and it was a but uncomfy but fine. Went to the loo and had a tiny amount of brown spotting. Cue me freaking out. When I say tiny, I mean literally a few tiny dots. Been to the loo several times since and nothing more. Called midwife and told me not to worry as its brown and old blood, probs from overexerting myself but to go in if it turns red.

But still. Really really panicked me.
Anyone else had anything like this in tri 3?

Yep definately a little weird, tho been small all the way along. Just got to hope it stays consistent as was told if growth drops below the line they might induce me at 37 or 38 weeks and I am so not ready for that. Dont finish work until 37 1/2.

We are all so close now... watched OBEM from last night and got a little bit emotional for the first time thinking that would be me soon. X

No Rachyroo, I've had more substantial bleeding so not the same. However all is still well with us so I wouldn't worry, if it's a tiny amount and brown blood it won't be a concern!

The kicks I'm getting lately are really hurting, this baby is so bony/jabby! It's much worse than DD!

Rachy I haven't had that but was told the same about it that your midwife told you.

I haven't had kicks since 26weeks. My baby vibrates or you can see my stomach move in waves, it's really weird and I don't know why the movements are like that but he does it all the time so is moving fine.

Today was exciting. My Snuzpod arrived (though DH refused to assemble it) and my elephants are here :)

Lovely elephants Belfa, are they stickers or is it fabric?

X

Yeah they're wall stickers and I think we'll have them a bit more spaced out above the cot as a feature wall.

I bought this fabric to make curtains, cushions and a bumper - the elephants aren't quite the same but it was the closet match I could get x

You must have been.searching for hours to get ones that closely match. Are you making the curtains, bumper and cushions yourself?

Yeah it's been quite a project lol.

I originally wanted a bedding set from an American site but it was expensive so I tracked the fabric down and was going to use that until my mum, who's hobby is sewing, recommended a site where I found that fabric and it was a much better match and a lot brighter.

My mums making the curtains etc and ikea do a plain white bumper for £10 which she'll cover. I wasn't going to get a bumper but my cot turns in to a day bed and I felt it needed some decoration for when he's using it as a bed as 3sides stay on, if that makes sense? X

It does :)

You make me realise how little thought I have put in to the finer details thus far :) I have all the practical stuff but none of the little bits and bobs that make a nursery baby friendly... Doesnt help that we rent and therefore cant have anything other than magnolia paint on the walls.

Thinking of getting some colourful fabric, framing it and popping it on the walls once LO is here.

How is everyone feeling today?

x

Aw that is a nice idea Pismo. You girls are inspiring me! I love the cath kidston style fabrics - they would look great in a frame (Ikea do amazing shaped/priced frames). But then might be too girly if I have a boy.

I'll maybe just need to wait for baby to be here before I start my artistic streak ;-)!

Started off my hopsital bag last night with my recent purchases and wrote a list for the things i am missing, so feel a bit better now. Need to wash the baby clothes, going to wait till i start mat leave in 2 weeks to do that (tho a bit risky cos i'll be 36 weeks - maybe am leaving too late!).

Feeling nice and positive with this lovely sunny weather!

Pismo we are 34 weeks :-o!!!! So scary! xx

I know!!! Getting so excited to meet this LO now. Even OH said last night as he was feeling LO's hiccups that he cant wait to hold him/her properly instead of feeling them through my skin.

I start my Mat leave this Sunday so will be washing clothes and sorting hospital bag out then. I'm a little laid back about it though as I feel like I'm going to go over by some time, so although we have 6 weeks left, I feel like I have 8 so don't want to get everything done too soon or i'll get bored.

xx

My hospital bag is pretty much packed. I just need to find a comfortable 'going home' outfit for me.

I haven't done anything with the baby's room. It's currently got one wall papered with pink butterflies so we'll change that to something boyish if we have a boy. Not that the baby will even notice!

Haha i know - the babies don't have a clue what things look like but us momma bears like it all to be perfect anyway hehe!

I was thinking the same Pismo - that i will go 2 weeks over. But then my wee blood pressure scare made me realise that IF baby came early I would be so under prepapred. So has booted me into action! Also - how can you tell if baby has hiccups?? I have never noticed it...am I maybe just putting it down to general baby movements? Would it just feel like little kicks in a rhythm??

Lucy - how is your BP today??

I always think other people's nurseries look more thought out than what I'm planning. I think because I'm not riding I have a lot of time that I'm not used to to be on the internet looking at things.

I think I'll do my bag in the next couple of weeks and just wash hospital clothes and then do the rest of the clothes when I start mat leave.

Do they wrap your baby in a hospital blanket when they're born or are you supposed to bring your own? We were told to bring a hat that we wouldn't mind getting ruined as their policy is not to wash the baby for quite a while after birth so they will be dressed in things that are going to get gunky! I wasn't sure if that meant the baby was just in a hat and blanket initially? x

Belfa- elephants look lovely. Nice to have a theme.

Pismo- Wall stickers are easily removed so renting shouldn't stop you from brightening the room up with them if you wanted to. We are lucky and although we rent privately our landlord was happy for us to paint as logn as we kept it light colours and neutral. We have said we will re paint when we leave if needs be but doubt they will make us as it looks nice. We kept 3 walls magnolia and painted one wall in a light brown (colour called pecan) with beech furniture and have a our eye on a winnie the pooh picture we will put up on the wall.

Baby is being a bit quiet today so going to keep an eye on it while I am at work. If in doubt will get OH to rub my belly when I get home as that is a failsafe way to make baby move. Saying that as I am typing this baby has had a bit of a wiggle but is definately not a active as normal.

Got told today by a lady at work that I definately look pregnant. We all had a giggle about it as she said it as if it was a suprise. Think I might have started a slight waddle. x

Edit- 2 posts appeared while I was writing that... oops

Colettypie. BP ok today thanks. Feeling better to and Bubba behaving. Hoping it was just a blip.

In work today and told them I mustn't rush around.

Coletteypie - Hiccups feel a little like a heartbeat but spaced out and more like a little jump. Not doing too well at explaining it unfortunately. Is anyone else experiencing them and has a way with words? LO gets them daily, DS did when I was pregnant with him too.

Belfa - Honestly not sure, DS was born by C-sec and I didn't get to see him for hours. I remember washing his once whilst he was in hospital (he was in for 10days) but don't know whether the nurses washed him in the mean time. Was such a blur. From what I see on OBEM they wrap them in towels at first. Maybe take one in that you don't mind getting messy just in case. Sorry not much help.

Babyscotcher - OH is a bit of a stickler for the rules unfortunately and worries none stop about not getting deposits back :D drives me crazy!! What you have done sounds lovely and warm though.

Lucyboo - hope that BP stays down!

They're normally in a towel following birth, as they're all mucky. They give them a bit of a clean up. They dressed DD with us watching, giving us a run through of how to dress them but I don't know if this is the norm.

They do have blankets so if you forgot to take one it wouldn't matter.
