*** June 2015 Mummies ***

The thought of twins is always lovely but I'm not sure if I'd cope. At our antenatal class they said everyone is discharged with condoms () and they had one lady who fell pregnant again straight after she gave birth, with twins, so she had new born twins and a 10 month old baby and they're now all in the same class at school !!

I'm finishing at 36weeks which is the end of May and could end up having 5 or 6 weeks off before baby is here if he's overdue. Now I'm wondering if I'll regret that and be bored x

I finish 2 weeks on Fri, at just over 36 weeks and will def be ready for it. I am finding it harder in work. I know i will want the time at the other end when I need to go back to work...but this pregnancy malarky is hard and I think I would struggle working any later!

Ahhh twins! My husband's mum is a twin - and his gran didn't even know she was having twins until she gave birth to one and the doctors announced there was another one in there!!!! Can you even imagine that happening to you! They didn't have ultra sounds back then lol, so just relied on the doctors knowing. But i mean bloody hell!

Im finishing 36 weeks too, seems a popular time! Feels like ages away for me still. Im a bit behind on the purchases, think I should order my pram amd cot etc soon. Have people already stocked up on things like nappies, wipes etc?

My little monkey is still transverse and I am getting quite uncomfy now. He's all balled up low down at the front, I can feel his knees forcing forwards all the time. Bump looks a bit odd because of it. Here I am at 30+4.

Twins run in my family and both my sisters were desperate for twins for their first pregnancies (not so much second time around!) but so far none of us has had more than one. I'd like a third child but the thought of getting a third and fourth all in one go scares me (it's what happened to my parents!).

I think twins must be hard work. I like the idea of it but practically I think it would be a struggle too. I do feel a bit sorry for mums I see out with twins, I don't mean that as horribly as it sounds! Just think it must be such hard work!

I don't finish until the end of May, I'll be nearly 39 weeks but I don't want to waste my leave before. Anyone that can afford to have that time off though do it! and enjoy being bored if this is your first baby, you'll long to be bored a few months down the line ;)

I finish at 36+4, cramming all my May days in at the start of the month then leave in June so according to my work I'm not starting maternity leave until my due date so my pay works in my favour as it's pants. I always thought I'd love twins especially as with treatment they are higher chances but glad it's just the one now. What about that 60 something woman having quads... So wrong I think. Just waiting for my mum to come over, got man fixing our downstairs loo at last (electrician flooded it) and can't keep going up the stairs every 2 mins for a wee, lol..hubby didn't want me being stuck indoors in my own with the plumber. Got slow roast leg of lamb simmering away too... Making me hungry already.

Hope everyone managing to enjoy the sunshine.

I'm the same Lucy, I've saved all my annual leave so taking the whole of June off as a "holiday" and then my mat leave starts on the day baby is born as I actually have 5weeks of leave so that would allow 1 week of being overdue though I'm sure I'll beg for 5 more weeks when I go back to work!

My work seem to be overhiring atm too to compensate for me leaving so I have no idea what will happen when I go back and where I'd fit in.

Rachyroo your bump is so cute!! It does sound uncomfortable though and I really hope baby moves for you. I bought water wipes the other day as there's a good offer on in boots (3 packs for £5 when 1 pack is over £2!) but I haven't bought nappies yet.

After my ridiculous spending spree yesterday I feel a lot better about how prepared I am x

I haven't bought nappies or wipes or anything yet! Probably should. I used water wipes with DD when she was little, not all the time and not so much for the poop but on the sensitive bits ;)

Might need a trip to boots if they're on offer!

Almost got everything here - Just a few bits and pieces needed for my hospital bag now. Managed to get our Isofix base for better than half price by price watching on amazon (was meant t be £109 and I paid £45!) and that was the last thing we needed for LO.

Getting that nesting feeling now. Just want to clean and tidy everything in sight :)

Not long until Mat leave now - Eeeek!!

I got a maxi-cosi cabriofix car seat and iso-fix base from my friend, both for £70! Bargain, she's moving to Abu Dhabi so getting rid off stuff anyway and I knew it was in good condition

You're all making me jealous with this maternity leave talk! I'm tempted to book more holiday....

Seen my consultant today and had a wee scan. All is good, baby is head down (yeahhhh!!) and was hiccuping away during it. He said babys weight is 5lb 12....which seems big to me but he said was fine. Im even doubting myself if thats what he said now cos that seems v big!! He was scanning the bum area and asked did we want to know what it was. I hesitated and was very tempted but we said no. we've come this far without knowing so a few more weeks wont hurt. So still team yellow!
So im not back at hosp until my due date if I havent gone myself before then. So looks like im all set for a vbac if baby stays head down :) Its made it very real now and I dont mind admitting it, im shitting myself now! lol xx

Well done for staying team yellow Here's Hoping :)! Haha yes...i think the reality of impending babies has hit a few of us now!! Eeeeeek.

Back at work today. Wee bit headachy and tired but felt okay enough to go back, but making sure not to go crazy. I went to mothercare at lunch, inspired by Belfa's trip yday. Got maternity pads, nipple pads & cream...2 nightdresses & dressing gown, fitted sheets for crib. Managed to spend a lot but feel a bit more prepared now - my hospital bag can now get packed!

Congratulations on the good news HeresHoping! They said to me baby was 5lb which is a bit big but you're a little further along than me. I guess it's quite typical for your second to be bigger than your first. How big was your daughter?

I can't wait for maternity leave at the minute, especially as the weather is no nice outside. I finish at 12.30 on 27th May. Got 2 bank holiday's, 2 full days annual leave and 2 half days annual leave booked between now and then plus one morning and one afternoon off for growth scans so hoping it goes quickly.

Can't believe how quickly it is going, some of you girls are 34 weeks already. Thought time was meant to go really slowly when you got nearer the end.

Glad baby in right position here's hoping, hope you get what you want.

I keep getting these headaches, they aren't awful but are annoying and most days. I don't know whether I should mention to MW. What would the rest of you do? My next appointment isn't until 30th.

Still waiting for plumber to come and fix our toilet, wish he would hurry up.

I don't think it goes slow at all, until you go overdue that is!

Well done for staying team yellow Heres Hoping - Its so tempting to find out isn't it? Not long now though and you'll be able to meet him/her.

Finally put an application in for a house in Bedfordshire - We get the keys (all going well) on the 29th May. Meaning we'll have a two month lap over in contracts but that way it has enabled me to apply for DS school transfer today and an easier more relaxed move for everyone evolved. Fingers crossed it all goes well! Such a nerve racking process. Will know if we've been successful within 10 working days.

Who else has moved/will be moving recently/soon? I'm sure I have spotted someone else talking about it.

x

I've just booked a good few more days holiday so I've only got 12 working days in May now and my last day is 28th! Wooooo :D

We moved a year ago this week! Still trying to sort the house out really, it was such a dump. Nearly there now though. Hope your move goes well!
