*** June 2015 Mummies ***

Yeah I had to wait at the hospital. I did sneak out to make a phone call. I took my knitting and did some of that too!

Hmm maybe it's worth him coming to the appointment then just encase. It's really just protocol as I had assisted conception so your automatically put on the consultant team, I've not had any complications to make them want to see me *touch wood*. My only thing is baby being breech so I can talk to them about that and assumed they'd book me in for a scan at 32 weeks or something to check? x

It may be worth him going, would be horrible for him to miss out on something that could be important. Also definitely ask about the scan to check on position - sometimes people need reminding.

I took OH to my consultant meeting regarding a VBAC and other than to say hello and introduce themselves the consultant didn't address OH at all - He said he felt like a spare part afterwards :(

I can finally eat - decided to get my self some chips and curry from the local chippy. I now feel quite sick as I ate too quickly, LOL!

xx

Belfa, I'd take him if it isn't too much of a problem, better for him to be there just in case, but I'm sure it wouldn't be the end of the world if he couldn't make it

Pismo I always find this! They virtually ignore my husband at every appointment, and I've had a lot! They say how men should be involved as it is their baby too but no-one makes much effort to help them be involved. He says he often feels like a spare part. He says his job is to drive me to the hospital and carry the bags, there's nothing else for him to do!

Belfa I would take him - purely so you have some support. Is his baby too - but let's say they talk about needing to turn the baby, or discuss c-sec (just talking purely high level of course as baba might turn) cos of your footling breech, then I would think you need someone there to help you process the info. And your hubby would be the right one to help you with that. He will prob like being there for you too - knowing he is being useful :)!

Haha Pismo, your morning sounds yuck! Glad you got some food, hope you feel better now!

My baby was footlong breech, not sure if it's moved. My mw wasn't bothered yet, says there's plenty of time. I thinking turning is less successful with footlong breech though. I don't think I'd go for it, but you never know.... I think they feel the position, unless they suspect they're not in the right place they won't scan you.

Thanks ladies, it's at 9am so not so much of an inconvenience for him. Actually, I just remembered he has to go anyway as I sold my car a couple of weeks ago so I'll need a lift .

I'd also heard that footling breech babies are difficult to move, everyone I've spoken to who has had a breech baby has advised not bothering to turn and go for a c-section as they've all ended up with emergency sections anyway! Of course, I know not to express this just yet to the midwife or consultant so I avoid the patronizing comments about how they have plenty of time to turn - yes, I know that, just saying!

Pismo I bet that was the best chippy ever!

I bought maternity tights yesterday, what a great invention they are and I should have invested sooner. I also bought bigger pants and they didn't make much difference, maybe I need to get a different style? x

I never bothered getting different pants. I find they sit under my bump just fine!

Mmm I'm really not keen on the turning thing, I think it's a bit forceful and could stress the baby, I'd also worry about them getting tangled in the cord! I really really really don't want a c-section but I think I would do it over turning.

Yeah that's what I think too. I think that if a baby's been that way there's a reason for it!

The pants just seem to rub under the bump. I just got them in Primark, my 10-12's were too small but the next size up is 14-16 so I expected them to be plenty roomy but they weren't. I'm sure it's just the way the pants are made and not the way my bum is made  x

Nope, bigger sized pants don't work for me. I need them totally over the bump - i got mothercare maternity pants (in a size smaller than I usually am) - anything under my bump feels like it will fall down!!

Aww charlie, chronic sciatica sounds awful, I'm lucky it seems to have eased again... I read somewhere sometimes baby can be on a nerve.

Not really with it at the moment, had a 2 and a half hour nap today, just couldn't keep my eyes open any longer and the the phone rang... Got a grumpy me.. Wasn't important either.

Prob a bit exhausted after yesterday.

Hope everyone has had a nice day, x

I got giant briefs from John lewis in a size up. Pack of five. I look like Bridget Jones in them but they stretch up over my bump which is wonderfully comfy hahaha.

Got my whooping cough/tetanus/diptheria etc today too. She didn't ask what arm I wanted it in - just put it in my left before I could protest. So im not sleeping tonight then. .Hah.

Aww Lucy, you really must have needed that sleep! Enjoy it whilst you can hehe :)

Welcome Rachyroo!!

My arm is slowly going dead now, glad I told her to do the right arm! Also got a nice bruise from my bloods today too!

Just in work now, ive slept most of the day but could still sleep more! Day off tomorrow to do some wedding prep :) tan, nails, hair :) Excited for Saturday. :)

Hey ladies, how are we all tonight? Nice to see a lively thread.

I had a section for breech. My girl was well and truely stuck, she never was head down and so cos of that I turned down trying to move her manually. Turns out she was breech due to shape of my uterus so if I had of tried the manually moving it would never of worked, plus baby could of become distressed by it. Other ppl have successful manual turning so each to their own, just go with your gut instinct. You'll probably get scanned at your consultant appt then Belfa just to see position now but you'll not be asked to make any decisions until around 35-36 wks. Would be good to have hubby there as I find it hard being bombarded with info in a short appt, plus saves you trying to repeat it all. He might have his own questions too. My lo is currently transverse, using my ball every night now hoping it'll shift their butt lol

As for pants, im currently sporting very sexy humongous bridget jones pants. I got cheap full brief ones out of primark last time in size 14-16 and even 16-18 last time to go over bump after section and they are comfy (im usually size 12). I find any other style than full briefs dont go over bump well. I personally prefer over bump than under, hate having anything rubbing my scar xx

Welcome over rachyroo. Wow charlie your arm must really ache. My arm seems ok after my antiD yesterday. Whooping cough is on weds. I'm still wearing my original pants though can't wear for bed as they cut into me. Got some huge primark Bridget pants for after the birth.

It's great to see most of us June mums all back together again :-)!

I'm feeling quite heart burny tonight. And was a bit achy with my pelvis today. Think the pregnancy hormones must have had a boost today explaining both. Is kinda nice to think my body is prepping for labour already. Just wish my stomach acid and pelvis muscles could cope better!

lol I love the variety of pants options! Think my husband is a bit horrified by how big mine are right now hehe!!

Aw man! I bought massive briefs from Primark by accident once to take on holiday (DH was horrified) but I grew to love them, wish I'd bought them now if I'd know we were all going granny-panty .

Hi Rachy! I abandoned the tri 2 thread too lol.

Charlie I'm so jealous, I could really go with a good pamper session. I'm like a gorilla just now, I even had to do a home wax strip on my belly .

I hope I don't get heartburn Coletteypie *touches wood*. I read in my boots bay club email today that 8 in 10 women get it in the third trimester which I didn't realise x

Ach heartburn isn't nice but gaviscon is my friend.

Anyone watching the show on itv about triplets? I've just switched it on and already enjoying it more than OBEM! Sob fest!!
