***July 2019 Mummies***

So I’ve been thinking that I’ve been putting weight on etc. But today has cemented it. One of the children asked another member of staff if I was pregnant  clearly must be obvious now!

Sounds better than what my boss said. She said she didn't think I'd grown at all since she last saw me (2weeks ago) but my face has got fat. What an arsehole!

I've definitely put on weight... my husband likes to keep reminding me how huge I look already, thanks!! And a lady at work told me she thought I was having a boy because I've put on a lot of weight from behind... thank you for pointing that out, as if I wasn't feeling self conscious enough!

People can be such charmers can't they! I literally feel like I've exploded in the last couple of days and it no longer just feels like a fat belly.

Had the 20 week scan today ❤️ Sonographer was amazing, completely different to the previous one. She was lovely. Explained everything she was measuring and showed us. Twin 1 (smaller one) is doing really well, she couldn't measure the head because baby wouldn't flip over so I have to have a quick check again next week but she's not worried at all. Estimated weight of 12oz.

Twin 2 also doing really well, estimated at 14oz. Both were laying so close to each other, restinf their heads on eachother - it was lush.

Seems thet cooperated and let us have a little look between their legs too. We are having girls . I didn't mind what they are, I'm just over the moon to see them again all wriggling around. Saw their little feet, faces, lips - everything. hearts beating all lovely.

DH was choked and welled up, he insists there was dust in the room, lol. He's gonna be an ace dad to two little girls. We are chuffed to bits.

They are booking 28,32,36 week scans along side the consultant appointments so I should get them through soon. So now a whole week without a hospital visit, lucky me!

Ah how lovely!!! Congratulations!!!
Can I ask how many weeks you are?

I was 20+5 and twin 1 weighed 13oz and twin 2 12oz.
I dont think I'll ever have big babies but good to compare to a twin mum?

As for putting weight on. Healthy appetite, healthy baby/babies!
Pregnancy is the one time we can' exercise properly or diet (not that we would want to) it's a time to embrace the extra cms of hips and at the end the extra chin!
The people who just love to give their opinion will do regardless of what it is...smile and wave! X

I'm 20+1 so it sounds like we are both quite similar twin weight wise. The 12oz twin 1 was a guess based on less measurements as she wouldn't play ball to have her head measured so I will find out next week. It will only be a quick scan as I have the cervical one 30 min later so I hope she behaves, lol.

I have no idea how big they will get, guess it depends on how long we can cook them for but either way, the weight x2 is going to be plenty!

Ahh perfect very similar! Puts my mind at rest. My little boy was 6lb 3oz 5 days overdue so I'm not expecting big babies, but you're so right. Double the weight for us to carry will be plenty!!

That's lovely news to hear everything is going so well, and both are healthy and doing well! And twin little girls will be lovely! It's amazing how much detail you can see in the scan!

Congrats to everyone who’s had their scans and found out the sex<3 good to hear all babies are doing well. 12 days and counting until mine!

This might sound odd, but is anyone really looking forward to hitting 24/25 weeks? According to stats babies born around this gestation have a 70% chance of survival. I really feel like it’s the next big milestone I need to reach and then will feel a little more relaxed I hope.

Yep, 24 is the next one and then they become viable which is relief yet again. I've joined some twin forums and see that some babies come and are OK even from 28 weeks which is amazing.

Bought first baby grows yesterday and for the first time in my life it felt real and I felt broody - good job that finally got me lol. Newborn in primark are up to 7lb so I need some smaller, I think sainsbury is going to be key. Had a look in John Lewis but cripes, I cannot afford to shop in there!

Oh and bought the softest blankets in primark with clouds on. Sent a pic of a baby grow to DH who told me to stop it as he was in a lecture and he may cry, awww

I was thinking the same thing sugarpop! 24 weeks is when they are viable and it becomes real that they could survive if born any time from then, I think from 28 weeks onwards the rate of survival becomes quite high as well.

I haven't started buying anything radleycat but keep looking at things online! my sister in law said she will likely give me a load of newborn and 0-3 as she just had a little boy a few months ago, and some of her stuff was passed on to her from my sister anyway. they're only in these clothes for such a short time that I'm happy enough to take 2nd hand! but will likely still buy a few new pieces too because I just can't resist! won't be going anywhere near John Lewis though I'm sure haha!

I did accidently buy this the other day, he was looking so sad and lonely in the window of the charity shop

Most places do ‘tiny baby’ which is up to 7lbs. Surprised Primark don’t!

I always think about this! And think when they get to 23 weeks they would resuscitate, although I would defintely not like 23 weekers!
28 weekers do really Well, and girls are much better preemies than boys.

I've bought a blanket each for them so far and the dreaded buggy.
Who has 20 week scans this week?

Radley we have found 'tiny baby' at mothercare, John Lewis, asda and Tesco and some really lovely ones in m and s.

Next have tiny baby to 5lbs too and then their up to 1 month is up to 10lbs I think.

Finding it hard to look at sizes because they are all in different at different shops! I don’t think you’ll struggle to find ‘tiny baby’ anywhere though. There’s tons and they are so bloody cute!

We went to next today and got some little leggings for him. I think for the first month we should be fine now as it’ll be the heart of summer so leggings and possibly his vest will be enough for most days (if we get a warm summer!)

It's hard to know what size to get atm. I think we will just keep an eye with the scans from 28 weeks and can see how big they are getting (or not). I had a look at mothercare do free next day delivery on preemie stuff which I thought was really good. Says 'has baby come sooner than expected?'.

Showed our faces at a family party last night which meant I didnt get to bed until 10. I feel bloody awful today as a result, sick again and knackered. Very frustrating

Iv been to Morrisons today and had a look at the baby section. They had loads of tiny baby outfits in the sale. My friends due twins soon and i got them a baby grow each for £1 couldnt believe it x

Morrison’s has been fab lately. My mum is stockpiling clothes and has bought quite a few bits from there!

Lets talk hospital bags. I know its early, but I want to be prepared.
I cannot for the life of me remember what I had packed last time, I do remember I had a load of unnecessary stuff. Has anyone midwife given them a list or has anyone found a 'decent' one online?

I saw one that said how important it is to back snacks for your partner as you don' want them getting hungry and grumpy. I had to stop reading then!!!
