***July 2019 Mummies***

I'm a little chunky. (managed to be classed as overweight by the time I was pregnant from morbidly obese a year prior.) On my 12 week scan report lots of things say visible limited. They didn't give a reason but it was because the baby was crazy active. My pictures aren't overly clear because the baby was so jumpy.

The least experienced of the two sonographers in the room got grumpy at me for bursting out laughing. I couldn't help it though as they would line up to picture the heart ect and my little squidge would buck itself in the air over and over again. Luckily the other one in the room could see the funny side of it. My scan took a good hour and they were close to doing an internal one because the baby was just so active.

I think a combination of them being two guys who were research fellows and the fact it's a crazy overstretched hospital compared to many other trusts played a role in the grumpy guys attitude too. Sadly many NHS workers are so overstretched it must be hard to enjoy what they do anymore.

Good morning ladies, I have my 20 week scan today! hopefully the sonographer is nicer than some I've heard about.

I'm looking forward to finding out all is well with baby, and of course just seeing them again and hopefully finding out the gender. I've been told by some that my hospital's policy is to not say the gender, but then I know others that have been told gender or asked if they want to know at the same hospital... so not sure but I really hope they tell us and that baby is in good position!

think your scan is also today Emmacharlotte? Good luck with it!!

Good Luck! Make sure you ask and I’m sure they’ll tell you.

Back to work for me this morning. Half term is never long enough!

Hiya! It is indeed and I barely slept last night! I always worry about this scan (probably because of my job) but I cannot wait to see them again! Mine is at 13.30 - when is yours?
I am excited for you to find out what you are having! Any incling???

I hope I have a nice sonographer to make the experience special. All our previous scans have been with the most lovely people who make sure the experience has been extra special. Sods law it will be the opposite today!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the sunshine (If you have it)
X

Mine was at 9:30am this morning, and then went out for breakfast with husband afterwards before coming back to the office just now. Scan was great! All is well and healthy with the baby, was amazing to see how detailed it is and all the things you can see! The sonographer was nice enough, a bit cold at the start to be honest, but I think she was just focusing on doing her job to be honest and just being professional... She explained everything we were looking at along the way which was lovely, and she did agree to tell us (or show us rather, it was very obvious!) the gender! She didn't actually say the words, as I think it's hospital policy not to say, but it's definitely a boy! She did confirm with a head nod though. I had a feeling it would be a boy for some reason, but don't know why!

Scan also showed me as a week ahead, but she said that it's up to the consultant to decide if they will officially change due date or not (currently due 14th july, but scan would change me to the 7th instead).

Good luck with your scan this afternoon Emmacharlotte, hope it all goes well!

Oh I'm so pleased for you! Big congratulations!!!! Just been curtain shopping in the laura Ashley sale to distract me.
Just waiting for mine now

All went well with my anomaly scan!
They passed the health checks and the scan lady gave me extra pics as im 'staff'.
The girl was 30g smaller than the boy but she has always been the smaller of the 2. Here's to relaxing and enjoying the rest of it!
I have my third cervix scan tomorrow aswel so hopefully it hasn't shrunk anymore!

Oh and twin 1s placenta has moved away from my cervix so that will not stop me having a natural birth aslong as the babies play ball! X

People have scans today...? My memory is a bit pants. Hope they go well x

Felt the babies move for the first time last night. At least I think that's what it was. I stood up and it felt like inside my stomach was rolling over and over, a bit like a wave breaking. Took me very much by surpise!

Has anyone else had a feeling like this or is it my two playing silly buggers?

That's lovely to hear that everything is going well! I think it's normal for one twin to be always smaller than the other, and good news about the placenta! Hopefully you can have a normal birth!

Yes! I get that feeling, like a wave or a ripple of water or something and I know it's baby turning over or something because most of the time I'll get a couple of kicks after too. So lovely to feel movement isn't it!

I've noticed mine is very active in the mornings just after I wake up and I'm still lying in bed, so I enjoy waking up early now and feeling him move around! Don't really feel anything regular for the rest of the day usually though.

Congratulations all whos had 20 week scans, you've made it to half point woohoo. Im only due the 28th so mine isnt for another 2 weeks x

I have 22 days until I book in with my new NHS Trust (and hopefully hear little ones heart on doppler) . Then I'll get a rushed anatomy scan booked for me as I'll already be 21+4 weeks by then!

Wish I could get a private scan in before then but it's finacially unviable right now.

I'm happy (and a little bit jealous) for everyone who has had their scans so far and have everything be OK.

We're all somewhere around the half way point now!

So glad the scan went well ❤️ it must be lovely to see them.

Can i ask when you had your first cervix scan and how many you've had? I think because they forgot about me and I only had my consultant app last week that they've booked me for a cervix scan next week. I wonder how often they do them, although maybe that depends on length next week? No idea!

Hey ladies just come in to check on you all and see how you're all getting on.

Glad to see your starting to get your 20 weeks scans now. Half way through yay

I had my first cervix scan at 17 weeks, 19 weeks and then today at 21 weeks.
I think they want to see me up until 34 weeks.
My first measurement was 44mm and second 36mm. I will let you know how it goes today. I love my cervix scans as they scan the babies after to let you see them. So twice in 2 days is just the best feeling.

I'e already lost track who knows what they are having! I wonder if this will be a bit or girl dominant group!

I've been told to have my hospital bag packed from 28 weeks so it's suddenly starting to feel very real! Summer is such a lovely time to have a newborn!

My cervix scans are at the pre term birth clinic and they do them every 4 weeks and discharge you at 24 weeks if everything is ok. Mine is still above acceptable limits but has shortened quite alot in a few weeks so I now have to go every 2 weeks. Hope that helps x

Yes, that helps thank you and makes sense. I think I should have been scanned earlier but they forgot to send me the consultant appointment so next week is the first one at 21wks. Guess we'll see what length it is and go from there.
