As this is my first pregnancy, I had no idea of what to do in terms of appointments etc, checked online for my area, and found there was a self referral form I could fill in and hand in to my health centre to be referred to midwife. Just went this morning to hand it in and the woman at reception had never seen this form before! She was very apologetic and said sorry that looks so bad if we don't know what this is haha, but she was lovely, and said usually the GP would like to see me now as apparently won't have my first appointment with midwife until at least 10 weeks, might be closer to 12... is that normal? She said the GP would just take bloods, blood pressure etc for now to check I'm healthy and that, but said she would check with him about this new form and give me a call back. Just thought it's weird that first appointment with midwife isn't til 10 - 12 weeks, thought it was usually 8 weeks with most for booking appointment? Again, first pregnancy, no idea how this works!
Also, when she said congratulations to me in a hushed voice I got all embarrassed and excited haha... feels a bit more real now I think!
