July 2019 mummies

I was just thinking that we need one! I’ll be jumping in on Saturday!

We’ll be having our gender scan at 16 weeks. My 12 week scan is actually at 13+3 so going off that the hospital are running slightly behind. I don’t want to wait any longer than I have to!

This all still doesn’t feel real. We hit 12weeks yesterday and I am still waiting for it to hit me and it hasn’t yet.

For migraines at the moment I try to keep my fluids up, get my other half to give me a head massage and get in a nap. That usually helps to stop it progressing worse. I used to be a Co codamol taker for it but can't anymore.

I've hit a breaking point where I want to chuck in my job, but really can't until I've at least reached qualifying week for smp. I swear I'm on the verge of just walking out. Can't even get signed off sick as it will decrease my earnings to below smp entitlement rates. :( Really scared the stress and negative mood of this will harm the baby.

At least got 12 week scan tomorrow to hopefully make me smile again.

Hope everyone else is keeping well.

Ladies I am in need of a bit of advice. For the last week I have been suffering with terrible headaches which I assume are similar to migraines. I’ve never really suffered with headaches before now, just the occasional.

Has anyone got any remedies for me? I’ve taken paracetamol but that’s all.

My dr said they are hormone headaches and recommended to eat more food with magnesium in it as it helps balance out hormones levels. Mine lasted a week and went but I upper my water intke drastically.

Im sorry to hear you are struggling with work, not ideal whilst pregnant. But just remember it's not forever, the end is on sight! Let us know how your scan goes

Sorry to hear you're feeling low about your job! How many more weeks do you have to work to qualify for smp? Maybe you could give yourself a reward at the end of each week, something to look forward to when things are tough at work?

Like Emmacharlotte said, let us know how you get on with your scan. I found the 12 week scan amazing! How the bean could change and grow so much in less than a month!! Just wow!

Scan went well. It took ages as the little thing was crazy active. Both sonographers struggled to get measurements and were considering transvaginal. Luckily they got the minimum information needed on everything after an hour of looking! Normal range NT (1.8), good heart rate and major organ systems there and formed.

We bought some grows for them in the shops after to mark things being more real. We also announced as we figured from the scan information the risk of bloods throwing up a trisomy positive are now super low.

I'm certainly feel weird though. Might go to see the doctor as it feels like all my work stress has triggered my depression/anxiety. I should be buzzing today and I'm just dulled down happy. At least I recognise to fix it before it gets serious.

Beautiful scan! And even better that everything looks great. Do you have an occy health at work you could go and see? Tell them how your work life is making you feel?
I dont know what you do, but maybe you could be seconded or take different duties until you go off?
You are way more protected than your employers and untouchable in a legal sense as you are pregnant.
