July 2019 mummies

Evening mummies ! So nice to come on here & find TWO new pages of messages !! :) this site was soooo quiet when I first signed up so nice to see more chats lol.

Hi to all the new expectanct mums & lovely that you got to see healthy growing bubby marvellous mum! I’m thinking about booking an early scan now just because 6 weeks seems so long to wait but we’ll see.

So I had to tell my Beauty trainer and model yesterday as it was spray tan course and you not allowed to have a spray tan when pregnant so had to make them aware yesterday... then today I was training in lash extensions & my cousin was my model & my trainer let the cat out the bag today lol my cousins face was a picture. The trainer said “so how you feeling after yesterday with the pregnancy?” And I just looked blankly at her. My cousin looked so confused & just said “what?!” Lol so then I had to come out with it. She’s so happy & then we had to call her twin sister as the are like my best frirbdsv& couldn’t leave her out & she cried !! They are both so happy but I can’t help feel a bit sad as it wasn’t ow I’d planned to tell them. Still plan on keeping it from everyone else until Christmas.

Very nauseous this evening. Felt ok most the day but for the last hour I just feel like I have a constant lump of puke stuck in my throat !

I also seem to have an insatiable thirst today and having just gone out tonight, I swear my boobs were bigger as my t shirt was tighter.

I am really thirsty lately too Radley. My breasts have just started hurting today, I really hope they dont grow I already have trouble getting bras in my size.

I also can't sleep hence the post at 2am. I was soo tired when i came in from work so had a really early night and now i am wide awake.

Hello new people and congrats Marvelous on your scan you must be so excited.

Sorry you didn't get the reveal you wanted Linnett, and i hope you feel better soon.

Beautiful little pip growing away nicely in there. Measuring few days ahead but not changing my date just yet. Going back in 2 weeks to check baby is growing nicely still. Saw heartbeat :dust:

Amazing that you saw a heartbeat. I would cry! How far along are you..? X

6weeks 2 days by my dates (scan had me a few days ahead but they don't count that just yet) i did cry lol. I'm an emotional wreck when pregnant lol.

:nap:Yuk been up since 1am feel yuk heartburn, so tired can’t wait to get the kids to school so I can go back to bed :nap::nap:

Radleycat my boobs seem to have grown also and my tummy has bloated out I swear it’s twins :oooo:

I have tried to put all the new mummies on the due date page forgive me if I have forgotten anyone

Don't say twins. My mum was a fraternal so there is a slightly increased chance for me, plus I'm geriatric (39!). I'd just be happy for one, lol

I think fatigue is starting to kick in for me properly now... Last night I felt exhausted cooking dinner after work. DH wasn't home yet, and I ended up falling asleep on sofa while waiting for him, then had dinner and went straight up to bed after. This morning, I am trying to stop myself from falling asleep at my desk and am yawning constantly. I'm so glad it's Friday!!

I have a fear it's going to turn out to be twins too!

Ooh can’t wait to find out if any of us are having 2! Lol I’d love twins! I’m under no illusion it’d be hard but I just think it’d be amazing & then I could 100% say I’m done then haha.

I now actually have no clue what my due date might be, going by LMP I’m 6w3d today but I’m pretty certain I ovulated a week earlier as I got my positive much sooner & had symptoms very early so I would actually be 7 weeks..

Feeling sick again today & so hungrybut nothings taking my fancy. Hubbys off today & said shall we go for breakfast & although part of me really wanted to I just imaged me sitting there heaving so we haven’t bothered lol.

So ladies who’s staying team yellow with me?! :D

Hope you feel better Linnett! Going out for breakfast is one of my favourite things, hope I don't start feeling like I don't want to do it anymore...

I also think I may have ovulated earlier than usual as I've had early symptoms and got a strong positive 4 days before period. We'll just have to wait until dating scan to find out!

I think I'll be finding out the gender as soon as I can! I realise it will be a lovely surprise if we wait, but I also kinda want to know!

Also, this may be a silly question as I've just spent the last 20 mins reading up online... are seared scallops ok to eat? DH got some scallops for us for this evening, and conflicting info online about them being partially cooked and mercury etc is worrying me! I guess I can cook my ones more thoroughly than DH's.

It really depends on your hormones. My ov date is pretty water tight, my test was pretty strong for 4 days early mid afternoon. Defo only 1 in there aswell. I made sure she checked haha.

I wanted to wait to find out but my husband has no will power and wants to know, plus I think it's best I prepare my eldest because if she gets another brother shel prob move out haha

I'm staying team yellow!!! Have with all the rest so think we'll stick with it.

As this is my first pregnancy, I had no idea of what to do in terms of appointments etc, checked online for my area, and found there was a self referral form I could fill in and hand in to my health centre to be referred to midwife. Just went this morning to hand it in and the woman at reception had never seen this form before! She was very apologetic and said sorry that looks so bad if we don't know what this is haha, but she was lovely, and said usually the GP would like to see me now as apparently won't have my first appointment with midwife until at least 10 weeks, might be closer to 12... is that normal? She said the GP would just take bloods, blood pressure etc for now to check I'm healthy and that, but said she would check with him about this new form and give me a call back. Just thought it's weird that first appointment with midwife isn't til 10 - 12 weeks, thought it was usually 8 weeks with most for booking appointment? Again, first pregnancy, no idea how this works!

Also, when she said congratulations to me in a hushed voice I got all embarrassed and excited haha... feels a bit more real now I think!

As far as I know, they book it for you after your first appointment, but going from info online it seems that every area is a bit different.

I think it's different by area. Here they are sou g a trial as well so you get a second scan at 37 weeks. That isn't standard anywhere yet. Not sure about booking in here. Last time gp said to calm him again at about 6 weeks and then he sorts the appointment. My oh will take my blood pressure, we have the stuff here. And if and when we progress I reckon we will nick a couple of maternity packs from work too, lol.

I think it’s pretty standard procedure now. With my first 2 I made appointments with the GP to inform him I was pregnant, they then pass your details on to midwife & they contact you for first appointments. With this pregnancy I called GP but they just said they don’t do appointments with the doctor first now, you just wait to see midwife around the 8-9 week mark so I’ve got my first appointment 29th Nov when I’ll be 9w2d. That appointment lasts around an hour & it’s the midwife that refers you for the scans & you’ll get a letter in the post telling you when that is.

I guess with so many new pregnancies everyday there’s no need to see people in the early weeks as there’s nothing they can do & maybe because most miscarriages happen in the early days they almost wait until we’ve got through those weeks to start taking things further?. My GP said if I had any problems before my first appointment to give them a call or if anything serious did happen you’d go to EPU.

Seems a bit different here I guess. I'm supposed to get an appointment with GP who will then refer me to midwife for first appointment around 10 - 12 weeks, which will be sometime over christmas/new year period I guess.

It's strange how it's different in some places. With all of my pregnancies Iv had to wait for mw at 8 weeks. Only time I saw gp was for a referral with my daughter.
That was when I lived up north.

Down here I can't even get a gp to see me. Thankfully I did my own referral lol.
Haven't made mw appointment yet. Will make it next week.

Bear in mind that I live in a remote part of Northern Ireland, where it almost feels like you're living in the past. I'm not actually from here, so sometimes things shock me how in the past they are... we don't even have mains gas, how I miss gas heating! Like you said, seems like it's an older standard of going to GP first, so that's probably why they still have it here!

Haha oh I know. The oil tanks. Used to drive me mad when I was there. Esp as I forgot to check my metre and ran out in the winter haha
I lived in a town tho so the Dr's were actually really efficient. The Dr's in ireland are the ones that discovered my problem.
