*July 2018 Mummies*

God awful nights sleep, after the midwife abusing my stomach yesterday trying to find baby’s it’s very sensitive and uncomfortable today, going round a friends for lunch and to see her little boy he’s nearly a year old but they went back home for 10 months so lots to catch up on, hopefully my mood will brighten before then!!

Morning ladies. Happy 37 weeks KH! Sorry you've got conjunctivitis now though.

Shep, thanks. I'm self-employed and work from home but I'm sat at a desk all day. I'm going to try sitting with my feet in a bucket of cold water today to see if that helps.

As for a christening/baptism. There's always someone not happy at a family event! Do what you want to do and to hell with everyone else and their opinions on it.

Aww Shan, that's not such good news about the pool. Is there one available at your hospital/mat unit?

GG, excellent bargain on the furniture. Hope you get it today.

Jem, how was baby the rest of the evening?

A week old already PB! That's flown by. Hope you're all doing well.

Jem, how was your little man last night? More active for you I hope.

KH, happy 37 weeks and full term baby :) gutted your eyes are affected but glad dd's are better.

Mala, if you can, keep your feet elevated. It is by far the best way to reduce the swelling and regularly getting up to walk around for the circulation as well.

Shep, have your Christening and just block out the moaning from your mum. She's like Dans mum if I remember and when she inevitably says things like, "are you listening to me", I say, "no, not any more as I can't change it and can't deal with it, it's about the baby, not you". But...I have broken the seal now and find it very easy to speak my mind with his mum.

Amy, hope you have a lovely lunch.

Guess what I did last night.....I slept! Got about 3 hours, then awake for 3 then got another couple so could be better but I'm not going to moan as I'm bloody grateful for it and will try to have a nap later.

My bump went really weird last night. Got into bed, had a bh. A few minutes later, my whole bump seemed to disappear. Everything just wobbled. Couldn't feel baby at all anywhere, neither could Dan. He put his head on and found a really strong, fast little heartbeat and could hear the baby moving about. 10 minutes later, bump returned. Very very odd, lol.

Housework/spring clean day today.

He's been a bit more active thank you :)

I actually slept last night and I've worked out the secret to it... Sex haha. Maybe it's a coincidence but it definitely got me a nice sleep afterwards lol x

What the hell are lactation cookies?! Haha
x

Haha cookies with ingredients it which aid milk production. I ate so many normal chocolate cookies in the first few weeks after I had dd and I just feel like I want to eat better this time and make the best milk I can for baba. I've made the dough and frozen it so I can cook them as and when. Cooked two to try and they're pretty nice, different but tasty

I hope your conjunctivitis clears up quickly

Glad to hear some of you have slept better, haha Jem I'm glad you've been having a good time. Sex is definitely a sleeping aid

Would love to see some more babies born soon ladies!

Enjoy your lunch date Amy.

Haha Shep I'm the same. I'm almost disappointed every day I come on here and no more babies have been born yet!

Thanks ladies. Yeah I'm a little devastated about the home birth. I could still do it without a pool. But I really want water so I'm taking my chances in the hospital to get a pool. It is what it is I guess. It's crazy how it bothers me, I just need to suck it up. Ivy was born in the hospital and I would never have considered a home birth ever, so I don't know why I'm so bothered

Had a nice morning at Ivy's nursery. At her math group today we ended up making cupcakes because it's the last one before the holidays.

KHTW aw sorry you have conjunctivitis, bloody kids lol. Did you get anything for it? Xx

Shep no christening here. Go for what you want and ignore your mum. Although I'm sure that's easier said than done. Honestly worrying about how many tables of each family is the least of your worries on a lovely occasion like a baptism or christening. Also we do have our name choice locked in. I like to keep it to myself until the baby comes because everyone told me they hated Ivy's name. However Ivy's told everyone anyway  xx

Jem you're a disgrace haha glad someone's enjoying themselves! xx

GG woohoo sleep  None for me last night lol. Xx

Ah, sorry you didn't get any sleep Shan. Love the cupcake morning though.

We're not having a Christening either. Child can choose when older if it wants to or not. I love the idea of it, just not doing it.

We have finally settled on a girls name. Olivia for a girl, Kieran for a boy. Basically, if it's a girl it will be my little Olive, lol. If a boy, Kieran is the only name Dan wanted to use. Named after my cousin who is the most incredible person you could wish to know and he's been asked and absolutely loves the idea.

Feels good to know that when baby is handed to me, I can say hello with the name. Getting so close now. It's all starting to feel very different. I feel different. Nesting instinct has properly kicked in, lol

Really random but Shanivy. ..how did you get on with looking at hypnobirthing?

Ugh I never actually got round to it. Completely slipped my mind! Wish I had already started now though. Did you?

Yeah I think I mentioned a while ago I looked into it. Didn't really like the disk much and struggled to "get in the zone". Not really sure the whole thing is for me but I did pick up a couple of tips

Had a lovely catch up, did the food shop making burgers for tea other half isvery happy!!!

We have a name chosen but I did have a dream last week where the baby was born and I gave her a different name that we'd never even considered before. Maybe it's a sign!

Oh my fucking good god..... lay down for a cheeky nap.... did the most violent sneeze ever and I swear if my legs weren’t crossed this baby would have shot out!!!!! I now have stomach cramps and back ache!!!!!

Amy hahaha reminds me so much of every time I sneeze!!

GG both lovely names especially the sentiment behind the boys name. Are you edging either way or still unsure boy or girl? Tbh if I didn't know I was having a boy I'm not sure I'd be able to say either way!

I don’t wanna sneeze again I panicked a little bit after ha ha ha!!!

Never felt so much pressure between my legs before lmao!!

I still have the back ache tho but think that’s due to this gremlin pushing on my pelvis.

Haha Amy! At least you didn't wee yourself...wish I could say the same!!!! x

GG lovely names. Nesting in full mode here also x

Forgot what else I was about to say...Not long back from niece's bday and DD was a little devil. Glad her granny was there to help (daddy working) otherwise I'd just put her in the car and drove back home... little shit! Terrible 2s is a thing I swear!!! x

Haha Amy I hope you're cramps have stopped! I still wear a liner as after mu last cold I've just been too frightened not to in case I wee

Oh dear khtw I hope dd settled down once you got home

Rough night with my Dd, no idea why she didn't sleep well. I was in a foul mood by 2am, so glad I've woken up feeling OK. Our garden was blown to bits yesterday in the wind so I've got some tidying up to do after the nursery drop off today.

Hope you've all slept well

Haha Amy that made me laugh. I'm also nervous when I sneeze but that's because I Leak wee half the time when I do. It's horrible.

Had such a scare this morning. So far I haven't had any issues with baby's movements, but woke up this morning which is usually his most hyper time and couldn't get him to move at all. Then dawned on me that I'd slept really well and not felt him move overnight either, even when I got up to wee or change position (usually makes him squirm). Stayed in bed a bit longer and he still wouldn't move for me.

Had an absolute panic/meltdown. Don't know how some of you ladies have coped with it multiple times! Ended up texting OH, parents, bestie, saying a quick prayer and shoveling frosties as a last resort in my mouth while crying and looking up the maternity assessment number.

... He likes to be fed. And he likes all the sugar in frosties. Ten minutes later and he's been wriggling around. Still going to keep an eye on him though next hour or so. What a panic I got myself into! And so it begins.. All the parenting anxieties!

Hey ladies. Tried to catch up as much as I could hehe probably forgotten everything.

Congratulations PB on your little Lucas. Sadly the pics posted didn't seem to work for me and came up an error saying the link may have been removed and all this rubbish but I'm sure he's absolutely gorgeous hehe must have been such a shock for him to come early but I'm really glad he sounds like he's doing fantastically and a great weight for being early. Super jealous you got to sleep on your front. I'm the same as other ladies here, I just spend my sleepless nights tossing from one side to the other every hour otherwise my hips and back get unbearable. The turning is awful too as my stomach muscles just don't appreciate the shifting weight of baby.

With regards to the christening thing I totally get it with mums and their whinging. My husbands family is much bigger than mine (and nicer
