*July 2018 Mummies*

Morning ladies.

Shan that's a lovely bump. Glad your FIL is doing so well.

Great deal Shep!

I'm another grumpy bum this morning but my sleep was disrupted by 7 mozzie bites on my legs driving me round the bend!

Had a super busy weekend but feeling pretty good so not all bad. X

Saw midwife for my birth plan. Spiralled me right back down. I'm so upset and emotional. It was constant going on about my weight and how I'm a big girl and how I should have a section and bla bla bla. She was so so so horrible. Kept telling me the baby is gonna be big too and everything is because of my weight. Feel back to square 1 and I finally felt happy about everything and confident. Now I just feel awful :'( x

Jem that's awful and completely unacceptable about a section, what did she say to you about a vaginal delivery ? Xx

She said I probably carry too much fat in my pelvis so baby won't be able to fit through!

Jem... wow wow wow and once again WOW?!?!?!?!!? I can't find words. Ask to speak to another midwife or a consultant if you have one!! x

Shep, good deal on the crib, well done!

Shan, lovely bump! Glad your FIL is better! Ps. yes I will be ironing all the clothes, just like I did for DD x

Oh I forgot to say, I mentioned how he isn't very active but I'm not concerned because that's normal. She said it's probably because I'm so big I can't feel him... Um yes I can feel him thanks. Then she used the doppler and said "well he's moving around a lot, bet you can't feel it" I said yes I can feel everything, you just woke him up by prodding him.
Also told me she can't tell if he's engaged cos I'm a big girl.

I'm a size 18 I'm not massive!!!!

Jem definitely get a complaint in. I'd have kicked off there and then. If you were morbidly obese not able to function id understand but you're not and it's completely uncalled for to say that to you!! Ridiculous!! Xx

KHTW thanks I feel huge though lol. Ugh I ironed most of it but what a bloody nightmare! Xx

Sorry but what an insensitive and rude bitch?!?! I would complain about her, seriously!!!

Just saw that last post your midwife needs a slap Jem . How dangerous to say you're probably too big to feel him I can't believe that! Definitely refuse to see her again. What a fucking joke xx

I don't mind ironing so much, it's just finding the time to do it is a pain! I like the look and feel of ironed clothes :D

Trying to upload my belly pic but of course my phone decided to die... I feel like I am going to explode!!! Bet ya my baby will arrive first :D

I have to iron our clothes too, I just have to. But it's my least favourite thing to do, I hate it. Once I washed everything and saw how much baby clothes there was I was like nooooo lol. Let's see that bump once you've a chance!

Ooh that's right you could go totally first with your section! I can't wait to see everyone's babies and see who we've all been complaining about haha xx

Wow Jem that's totally unprofessional behaviour from your midwife and Shanivy is right it's dangerous to suggest you might not feel baby because youre "a big girl". I'd be furious. Plenty of women size 18 (and bigger) will have normal vaginal deliveries. I'm really angry for you, you're already in so much pain and discomfort being spoken to like that will do nothing for your mental wellbeing

Shan and khtw I don't know how you have the energy to iron everything. I'm lucky my dryer does a fantastic job and I'm glad as we'd all look like scruffs if it didn't haha

Well dd is with my mum today, I've done a little house work, 30 mins reading out in the sunshine and now I'm about to try the hair removal cream on my bits. This will probably be the last time I do it before labour so the midwives can expect some fuzz lol if I'm still in a massive grump later it's because I've done a terrible job

Jem, your midwife sounds awful! Definitely make a complaint and ask to see someone else from now on. Some people are just downright rude and shouldn't be in their jobs dealing with people if they are going to be like that. Everyone comes in all shapes and sizes and it's not for them to judge. Hell, she deserves a slap.

Lovely bumps Shan and Shep.

Some family members are sending baby clothes to me so should arrive in the next few days. When it does I'm going to start washing all baby clothes.

Today's antenatal class was actually really useful, if a little terrifying. Basically talked us through labour and different options we have at every point. I'd been completely in the dark up to this point so it was good to get all that information without having to also hear/read about horror labour stories!

Jem, as much as I normally defend healthcare workers for mentioning excess weight (it is a health issue after all) I would have fucking lynched that midwife.

Call PALS and complain. Not just for you, but for other larger mums as well. To say that low movement can be due to being too big so highly irresponsible I can't get over it. It could easily lead to a mum not going for fetal monitoring and ending up losing a baby. It happens, my midwife has always been insistent that any loss of or even change in movement patterns should be checked immediately. You have every right to be furious and you're not even that big ffs...she should have gone to specsavers!

Lol Shep fx that goes well. Im too nervous to use hair removal cream there. I usually (used to) wax but I may try it if you have no horror stories haha. Im also too afraid to use my dryer in the baby stuff incase i shrink it. Saying that, with Ivy it was winter and she was tiny so i tumbled everything, since it was all massive. Which meant i never had to iron either. Xx

Mala glad you found it helpful. Just feeling like you know a bit more and feel a little more in control can make all the difference. Ignore everyones horror stories too anyway. My actual labour was positive with dd. Xx

Well I feel and look like I am about to burst! Even people at work started asking if I should still be working lol x

Okay, so, midwife appointment was fab. I've gained 1st 4lbs so she was all happy at how active I've been keeping and that it should really help me when baby is here.

Jem...I told her what your midwife said and she got really angry on your behalf. She said to definitely complain but...if you feel any changes in movement to just call the triage at maternity and go and get the baby monitored. Even if all is fine, always better to check and your midwife should never have said what she did.

She also said your weight has bugger all to do with what you can feel inside so to ignore that and make sure you complain.

She was really keen that you complain, lol.
