****July 2018 Mummies - Tri 2****

Ah Shan, that's gutting. I'd call back and ask if it can be done. You had a scare early on and now this tightening, just say you'd really like the reassurance that baby is okay.

I can't deny my bump now. It's totally changed my shape and I have the harder feeling above my belly button now as well. Baby is on one in the evenings now. I am feeling loads of movements and lots are much more than just mild flutters but the mw did say I could expect it with such an active baby.

Love the day/evening bump pics! What a difference. Perfect bump:)

Haha Shan will you stop editin your posts lol?! I read it again and though that I am being an idiot and asking questions that have already been answered in the post! :D

So phoned and queried it and apparently now it's not standard here to check at 16w anymore. Because of how difficult it can be to get it for some women this early? Seriously who makes this shit up? Bleeding in 2nd tri, don't want to see you, 17w appointment, don't need to check the hb. Ugh I give up ffs. How is my area so bloody different in everything to everywhere?!

Yeah Shan my midwife said they don't have to check hb at 16 weeks, but she gives it a go anyway x

I'm starting to get cramping again like at the beginning, and if I move funny or sneeze I feel like someone is stabbing me in the uterus! I don't know what anyone means by tightening but what does it feel like? Maybe it's the same thing ?

Jem nice to hear that from someone else at least.

To me what you're saying sounds more like round ligament pain? Like turning in bed causes it etc? Which I get too. But this is more like a tightening feeling I don't know how to explain it.

It's hard to tell where it's coming from since my uterus is still smaller. I'm getting so much movement, right now I'm laying on the sofa and baby is giving me kicks. So I'm wondering if it's just feeling baby rolling about that feels like a tight feeling. I really don't know xx

Lol now you all tell me! Had it with dd at 16 weeks I honestly thought it was standard. Xx

Maybe Shan. Tbh I think that the cramping might be baby moving as midwife said my uterus is tiny still and barely any room for baby in there as first pregnancy. So maybe the 'cramping' I'm having is the same as your tightening and it's just babies having a little party inside us haha.

Ah okay yeah I think it might be round ligament pain the other bit, it's when I cough, sneeze, get in and out the car and turn in bed or turn round quickly, like a sharp stabbing pain.

xx

Yep lol. Not the tightening feeling I'm talking about but the painful one is absolutely ligament pain . And it's the worst. I turned myself around last night and got the whole right side. Bloody nightmare xx

Its the off guard sneezes that get me! Ouch! Mind u occasional round ligament pain doesn’t compare to false labour... thats evil! Im hoping I don’t suffer that this time round! Xx

Ohh I never had that Enya. My labour was so fast triage called an ambulance lol xx

Anyone else booked in for whooping cough yet? Have mine on wed

i haven't booked my whooping cough yet. I was supposed to so thanks for reminding me, will ring on Monday.

lovely bump pictures! everyone has proper bumps now

Need to book mine too, last time it was around 28 weeks tho. Wonder why they changed it to from 16 x

Same I though it was still the same until the midwife said no it's 16 now. Makes me feel like it's about 30 years since I've had a baby with how much is different lol xx

Just thought I would add mine has said to have whooping cough after 20 week scan. Not sure why things are so different in different areas.

haha totally agree with this! best bit? that raw eggs (lion stamped) are ok! last time I was naughty having my eggs and soldiers but this time I'm making the smallest cakes ever eating all the mix raw! haha

weird part for me, last time my due date was given as 28th, my scan said 24th but my due date stayed the original 28th, so I could go 14 days over that. going from my scan I could have been 18 days over (if I'd gone that far) whereas this time my due date changed after my scan which I feel a lot more comfortable with and they only let us go 10 days over now which I think is much better

hope you all have lovely weekend's ladies, think tomorrow is a "play all day" day for DD and I. although I may try and drag her out for lunch as I fancy a bacon brie and cranberry toastie from my fave cafe

Mmmm, that toastie sounds lovely.

I've just made a batch of Farmers Chicken Pies for the pub. Chicken, ham, mushrooms and leeks in a white thyme sauce, in a shortcrust pastry.
I literally cannot wait to dig into one for my tea, lol.
Got the potatoes cooking now for the mash, just for me and Dan tonight :)
