When do they start talking induction dates and doing sweeps ladies? I am bang on due date today tommorrow at 11am I have an appointment with my usual mw and then on the 31st I have an appointment with the consultant antenatal team. I am guessing tommorrow the mw will just do normal checks bp baby hb etc then the 31st I might get a sweep or at least an induction date does that sound about right? X

Hi ladies. Still in hospital. Emily has a bit of jaundice so is getting light therapy. Hopefully when she is checked again tomorrow we will get the ok to go home. It has been a total whirlwind since Sunday but I feel that I have never been without her! X

Morning all iv joined the overdue club today. well had another night where I slept very badly am hoping its the prep for baby coming meh. Got mw appoint at 11am just routine checks I think. I set an alarm for 0930 so I'd have plenty of time for drinking fluids and having breakfast but I woke at 8 and that was that so I'mup n about having had a nice shower on cool mode. Baby is not wriggling at all this morning maybe because its earlier than iv been getting up was moving ok last night? not sure if I should be concerned but as seeing mw at 11am and will try the usual tricks till then god I hope baby is tiered out from my restless night and not something wrong. I hate worrying and that will really help my bp reading! Congrats holli! It looks like I have three people to now update on the big thread.I hope bonfire and bbababy get there's to turn up soon too plus anyone else who has joined me overdue clairebelle I think and bellarina xx

Hiya!! Welcome to the overdue club lol id mention it to the midwife, i was the same yesterday the little bugger always moves in a morning, i had my breakfast and nothing, so then a bit later had cheese in toast was leaving it half an hour then was going to ring mw then he went crazy lol! Little bugger! Just try and relax now, don't get stressed being overdue, enjoy the time you have to yourself, just think baby has to come out at some point, its just not ready yet xx

Thanks hun. Saw mw they were running late so waited half hr. My usual mw was away so it was a diff one tho v nice. She took bump measurement to be 37 but last week I was 39 I don't think baby has lost me any inches surely lol so guessing just positioning. Said babys head is engaged yay! And offered me a sweep which I decided to say yes to. It wasn't as bad as I expected no where near the pain and humilation of the one with the male Dr back when he did a smear. At least this time it was just me and mw and door was locked and blinds shut and didn't take too long to do. She said cervix soft but could only get finger tip in really it was uncomfy but not painful then again maybe that means not as successful? . So what I'm guessing is that I have time yet eh. Also she then booked me an induction for 2nd Aug so baby will be arriving one way or another in next couple of weeks. Babys hb was same before and after sweep so that shows he or she ok and also decided to kick n wriggle while in there told her about less movements etc she said its heat and hydration most likely plus lack of space and as long as getting movements not to worry. Of course since then baby has Been typically moving around etc so that is one less worry!

Ooooh fx that the sweep does the trick for you K8. I've had an antenatal this morning too and was offered a sweep but I wussed out and turned it down. Wish I'd have taken up the offer now. Baby is engaged here too The only concern was my blood pressure was up. The student mw who was there as well did it 3 times and it did come down slightly but because my feet are so puffy (have been for weeks now with the heat) mw was contemplating sending me to the hospital !! My urine was fine and all fine with baby and have had no headaches or funny vision so she's decided to come and do a home visit in the morning to check my bp again and if it is still raised she said I will have to go to the hospital.

So keep me posted on how things go today after your sweep K8 and if it looks good I may ask if she can do one when she comes in the morning. Glad baba is moving ok for you again. They do like to worry us the little monkeys xx

Really glad that little one is moving around as normal today K8. I think you'll go naturally before the 2nd August if she has already been able to "tip" you cervix. Will definately be keeping an eye out for Corrinne's labour thread.

Bbybump....any twinges after sweep and bouncing today?

I went to midwife today - baby is 1/5th away from being fully engaged. Slight trace of protein in urine. Student midwife advised 20% effaced. Senior midwife didn't perform sweep as cervix 1-2cm dilated and advised i'd be poked and proded all day tomorrow at induction.

Here goes nothing....induction starts tomorrow. I have to be there for 4pm - they will insert pessary first and then see how body reacts to it.

I'm so excited but also really bloody nervous! Eeeek x

Sweep seemed to do nothing !! Feeling really aching n cervix shooting pains this morning .. Lets hope it's 4th sweep lucky today !! Iv got a feeling about today .. But that's just hopes and dreams

Morning Bbybump

Yep...induction today and I'm going to send some labour pains directly to you too to see whether we can get little Eliza moving too. I'm a little nervous but excited too. Been reading up on some positive induction experiences to keep my spirits up.

Had a really poorly tummy this morning, so hopefully body is aware of what is coming and is clearing out before baby is here...also having some back pain this morning...so I'm hoping that I'm moving in the right direction.

Fingers crossed for both babies to be here before Sunday

Oh yes....I'm still bloody cleaning.

Hubby has gone to golf today - strict orders from me. Just want some normality this morning, rather than waiting around.
