I've bought a Medela swing so I can do just that Laura. Now to find a bra I do t mind cutting up lol!! I will admit, night time is when I've forgotten most to pump !!! I actually find it so demoralising, pumping :(

Congratulations!!! Penelope was one of our girl names, my fave! xxxxxx

Hope all is okay Robbda
.That's good they are keeping a close eye on you :) how are movements now?

Imogens movements been ok. I spent all of yesterday on ball and dancing lol!! Feel exhausted today and also got a cold booo. Loads of pressure in my back and feels like I'm on a horrid period..no tightnings though just period pains. Not sure if that means something or nothing lol. Going for a meal tonight with friends..think I'm going to have to get taxi to just outside the place lol!!

How is everyone else?

Xxx

Typing one handed. Blueflower I feel the same re feeds, I worry about oh going back to work as no one to hand babies to me etc. We sometimes tandem feed but it's tricky. It;s so exhausting feeding one at a time around the clock as they take a long time and I'm having to fit in pumping every few hours too. It's def taking a toll, although I love feeding them and the closeness. We are trying to gradually reduce formula top ups but it's tough.

How much sleep are people with babies born managing? H&H sleep about 3 hours at a time, but we aren't napping with them in the day time. I guess we manage 4 hours per 24 usually around pumping and whatever else. Actually I've no idea where the time goes, does anyone else feel like that? I forget to eat, but I don't really know what I'm doing all day but I seem to be on my feet all the time unless feeding.

Abi sorry to hear your little one has been in hospital again. How is he now?

Oh my goodness, I just heard the biggest rumbling fart ever from the moses basket !!!!

Ok I'm rambling and tired. I hope everyone is well. I'm reading all the updates and looking forward to the next babies. Sorry you're all in such discomfort, it's so tough at the end and I hope your babies all come sooner rather than later so you can enjoy them. I'm going to catch a nap now xxx

We usually get a couple of hours after the 1am/2 am feed then another couple after the 4am/5am one! Also sometimes fall asleep briefly during the day! Not done any housework as such apart from the washing and dishwasher. DH put the hoover round before people came over and I cleaned the sink and loo quickly! He does most of the meals and we both clear up the kitchen.

I don't believe your dainty girls do massive farts!! ;)

Midwives do expect a lot of us Abi. I don't like pumping either.

Our bodies are so strange.. I had really bad pains and period like cramps all over Christmas and really thought it was happening but now everything's chilled out again.. I reckon it was her engaging though so maybe Imogen's just burrowing in further Millie.. Hope everything's ok Robbda, better them be keeping an eye than not though I appreciate how frustrating that must be with delivery looming :( Does high risk mean constant monitoring during labour? xx

Yes hopefully she's fully engaging now! Will be good ready for induction. Won't surprise me if so as I did a hell of a lot of bouncing on ball and dancing yesterday hahahaha felt a bit crazy and defo paying for it today in general achyness tooo xxx

Haha, nothing like a solo boogie round the living room :) Hopefully it did the trick! xx

Am I being unreasonable? I am starting to resent people coming round and sitting in the living room on the sofa where I am most comfortable to feed the twins and because I don't want to get my boobs out in front of them I am banished to the bedroom to feed them where it's not as comfortable. Not sure what the solution is.

Defo not being unreasonable!! I've been wondering about this too for when Imogen comes...I'm hoping people don't stay long at all as I don't want to have to go upstairs in my own house to feed because they are sitting on my sofa lol.

Have you had a lot of visitors? Do they stay a long time? Xxx

Congrats on Penelope, that's such a lovely name! We considered it and using Penny as a nickname. So cute :)

I found pumping demoralising to begin with because I was getting such pitiful amounts, but now that I am getting a bit more and I don't have to hold the bloody thing and be tethered to the plug, I get quite excited to see how much is going to come out! I can see the amount increasing steadily each day, so it makes me feel quite positive.

You may not need to pump, papermoon, it's just that with two to feed it's more necessary to do it to try and get supply high enough to feed them both. I have the medela swing maxi and do recommend it if anyone is in the market. I just got mine second hand and got new bottle attachments.

Well OH and I fell out today because he said I shouldn't be on my laptop when pumping and that I should look at the babies to help my let down reflex. Really pissed me off to be honest because I don't get much chance to do anything but feed and pump as you all will understand, so the odd 5 mins here and there on my laptop shouldn't be a problem when I'm attached to a pump? It just made me feel like a crap mum but I know we're both tired.

Blueflower that annoys me too. I also find the sofa the most comfy place to feed and I end up giving them formula more often when people are over which is not ideal because we're trying to move away from it. I also end up missing pump sessions. All my aunts and cousins coming down this weekend, so I hope they are kind.

Your babies are all being such teases, those of you still expecting! Who is due next? xxx

You're not being unreasonable Blueflower.. It's really stressful and the sleep deprivation can get you wound up over just about anything. It's completely reasonable that you don't want to feed in front of people - perhaps you could use feeding as a prompt/excuse for guests to leave? I hated having people over for much more than an hour anyway, you just get to the point where you want to scream at everyone to pee off!

Oh Laura that was a little insensitive of him :( I mean, it's really sweet from an outsider that he knows/cares about those things but that would not have gone down well with me! You're right, you're probably both acting out of tiredness but it's really important that he understands how vital some you time is as it is so easy to forget about yourself..

Sprout and Robbda next! And Princess P who we haven't heard from in a while?!

Oh I see what you're saying Laura. I forgot about how moms of twins have to have extra milk to feed 2. Wow I see how that's a lot of work!

I would feel the same way Blue! I do not want to breastfeed in front of anyone except my hubby. So I would be upset about that too. I didn't like visitors staying for more than a couple of hours BEFORE I got pregnant let alone now and after T.J. is born. I like/need peace and quiet and alone time meaning without visitors, just OH and T.J. when he comes.

Anyone got any updates? Movements ok with Imogen? How is little Robert doing, Abi?

Relatives have been here all day but it's been lovely. We went over to my parent's house (next door) with the babies, so we come home now and again to escape and feed and pump. It's working out really well, I even got sent for a nap this afternoon which was much appreciated!

Our cotbed arrived today. They've been sharing a cot but I think it's a bit too snug for both of them. We're going to have them share a cotbed as they settle each other nicely and seem to enjoy it.

Hope your all having good weekends. xx

Scan was much better news today..placenta seems to be fine and she has stayed on the right curve that last scan was on. So they think 2nd scan may have been off when it showed her growth slow right down between 2nd and 3rd. So that's reassuring. Didn't get to see consultant so will discuss on Monday. May be they go with sweep etc now instead of straight to induction depending on her movements. A day by day thing now I guess. Her movements have been good today :D. She is estimated 5lb 9. Seems dinky for 37+2 lol! She's just below 50th on my personalised chart though so may be as I'm short haha.

Awww sounds a lovely day Laura :). You're doing so well with all the pumping etc! So cute them sharing aww xxx

Just taking it day by day. I've started feeling extra tired again, so we'll see what happens. :)

I think something's happening. This might be it! :) I'll see what happens.
