***January 2017 mummies!*** 3rd Trimester

Abi! Congrstulations! What a brilliant present!!

OH is manically painting the nursery as yesterday i had nausea, diaorreah and BH have kicked in..trying not to get excited..12 days to go! Today ive just slept on and off

How is everyone else? Hope you all had a relaxing christmas..im making the most as its the last before bean arrives

Congratulations Abi! He's lovely! Great name too!
We have been in a bubble of feeding and Christmas and sleep deprivation, conflicting midwife advice and baby cuddles!
Thought I'd come on here to see how everyone is!
We were at the hospital with Robert last night but he's ok which is a relief. xx

Glad Robert is okay Blueflower! Hope.you all had a fab first Christmas!

Omg Kate lol I moved at like 23 week and it was awful. Everytime I walk atm my heart races and feel all dizzy and sick etc. Do hormones change before labour or anything? Hormones usually do that to me plus I've had sore boobs and funny tummy and been a lot more anxious than normal this past week. Been waking up with strong braxton hicks a lot too xxx

My goodness Abi I can't believe it! Bless you must have been such a shock.. Congratulations to you both, glad Robert's doing well!

Haha I moved house at 39 weeks and was putting up furniture until 40 weeks, then had 2 weeks to frantically get everything ready.. Poppy was induced at 42+1!

Oh wow Kate you went to 42 weeks! Wow!

I would cry lol. I was already anxious about her placenta if I went overdue but with the reduced movements I couldn't go over now I'd be so worried. I would of enjoyed it all so much more if she moved regularly! Booo xxx

Sure did Papermoon! It was uncomfortable but I was so busy at the time I didn't really have time to think about it thankfully.. It was a huge relief for sure when induction came around. I was worried about placenta function too Millie and was a little upset as they'd said initially I wouldn't go past 10 days over and then just said "oh we may as well just wait it out now.." Midwife did comment on the placenta looking exhausted so I feel lucky she was so healthy.

Sorry to hear that Blue, must have been a worry but so glad to hear he's ok.. We were in hospital with Poppy at 5 months with meningitis and it was the most harrowing experience.. I know nothing is as awful as seeing your vulnerable little person in that position :(

Robbda that sounds exciting! I swear I'm as bad now for 'labour spotting' and I was for symptom spotting in the tww haha - every little thing I'm taking a mental note of!

Wonder how Laura is, I hope she has her babies! Thinking of you wherever you are Laura!

Oh no blue, is everything ok?

When you announced I was like !!!!! first person I've known to use the name as I have never met a child Robert!

My Robert is being a minx. After spending 24hrs in his light therapy , he's out and awaiting final bloods at 10am to confirm if it worked well enough. But now his temperate is really dropping! Just been checked and he's only 36degrees fully coroners and wrapped :(

Anyone ever had to deal with early baby breastfeeding? In expressing 20ml ish each time from each booby which is just about enough for his feed with some times a small top up. But we are struggling to get him to latch to my boob :( he just seems to get so so tired when trying xxxxxx

Abi even were the same with their temps and light therapy. We were told that wrapping them more and being warmer was better until they starting regulating their own temps so we had them in a swaddle with a jersey flat sheet and cellular blanket with an extra cellular on top and little hats too
They started to regulate their own temps well after about a week as they kept checking and was always borderline with the 36 and it goes against everything your told before having babies about making them too warm!!
We weren't able to establish a latch with the boys as they were on light therapy for a few days and had to only be off a short time to feed so I tried to express. What teats are you using? In the hospital we used their premature teats which worked really well. Once home we struggled to find a test that wouldn't tire them out! We then found munchkin latch bottles which are supposed to mimic the breast and help with combination feeding and they've fed really well from them straight away and didn't tire out xxx

Oh wow Blue I must have missed that, hope everything is okay with the baby!

Hope things get better for you Abi with breastfeeding and your baby too. He should latch on soon I think.

I hope feeding becomes easier soon..bless him! Can't believe he came on Christmas day lol so amazing :)

My OH is called Robert haha.

Kate I was just thinking that the other day about how I'm symptom spotting like in the tww haha. I'm getting a ton of strong braxton hicks now that hurt and always seem to happen at night and wake me so often that I've been napping in the days instead as get no sleep lol. I think she has dropped a bit too xxx

It sounds as if we are all in the same boat. Our Robert wasn't latching, he kept falling asleep then didn’t have the energy to feed. I started expressing for him but he lost too much weight so we had to get him checked out. Jaundice was at safe levels and his weight was better after adding in formula so we came home again, phew! We are finding conflicting midwife advice annoying!

We liked the name Robert but don't know any other children with the name!

My tummy and feet are getting back to normal now!!

How are you recovering from the c section Rhiandell?

It's so hard isn't it! We struggled with how much the boys should be taking at each feed & so have been kind of figuring out ourselves at home, if they take a feed easily then we increase a little each time, weigh day tomorrow fingers crossed Arthur is back at his birth weight, Henry was at his birth weight & gained 75g at last weeks weigh in & Arthur had 15g to get back to his birth weight but both their jaundice had resolved thank goodness
Everyone has different ways don't they Blue!!
I have my ankles back it's great ha ha !
Think I've got a bit of sciatica from the epidural! X

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of posts! Can't believe how many December babies we have now.

I think my dream of a home birth is officially over :( Went back for a follow up scan today re low fluid and they were able to get a proper measurement of 4.1cm. 5th centile is 4.7 so very low...the doctor didn't actually say much this time, just to come back for another scan next week, but I'm too worried about how he'll cope in labour now (low fluid can make them more likely to become distressed) so I'll be going in....I just really really hope I'll be able to use the pool!

I think T.J. has dropped, my butt is sore, that's new, and I feel a funny feeling in my crotch like pressure or something I can't explain. That must be T.J. getting ready for the big day. :) Still getting a lot of Braxton Hicks. My lower back is still sore. I keep waking up in middle of the night to go to the bathroom and also sometimes I just wake up for no reason and can't get back to sleep right away. It's because I know something big is coming and it makes me restless. Almost there. :)

Yes. That's what panics me as you are always told never to make them too warmX it's better to be a little cold! But I presume with items it's just not the case! His temps have been better today but bloods haven't come back great as his jaundice level thing keeps risingX last bloods at 4pm were 20 below the treatment line :( so we have just sent off another set now awaiting results. I'm pretty sure they will of risen and he will be back in his tank bless him.

I think that's what has made latching hard. We just haven't had the time together to spend ages waiting for enough milk to be sucked out (he can do like 1 suck every few mins right now) so expressing and using the NUK kids off them which I feel are a bit fast ? He gulps a lot. I've got some time tippe prem tears that I'm hoping will work once we are home .

Xxxxxx

Oh bless him! I haven't been able to produce enough yet so having to constantly top up :( fab name ! ;)

My feet are stop ill huge and fat along with my left leg but they aren't too worried. Apparently it's to do with kidney function? So I've been told to just drink loads! Xxxxx

Aww sprout that's poo. But yes I would push for a water birth! Was so disappointed when I wasn't allowed near the pool but Robert had to be constantly on the heart motior .... Which made the position I wanted to be in totally impossible, ended up pushing and birthing in my back which was my one big no no all throughout :( xxxxx
