***January 2017 mummies!*** 3rd Trimester

Whatttt, 45 weeks??? Might as well evolve into an elephant being pregnant for that long!!! :O

Haha MIL is absolutely tiny as well, I've no idea how she managed it! She's about 5 foot 2 and probably not even a size 6. being her first child and going to 45 weeks, I've no idea how she went on to have another 3! She actually had to be induced in the end at 45 weeks. xx

Yikes 44 weeks! You must need a lot of extra monitoring going that much over? Xx

Yup! Exactly!

Once labor starts, when do they tell you ladies to go to the hospital? Here, if you're not dilated enough, they will send you home. They say not till pains are 4-5 minutes apart for 1 hour, then head to hospital, unless your water has broken, then go in right away. Is that what they tell you ladies?

Random one, but my dressing gown (which I bought in a larger size a few months ago) no longer covers my bump fully, so it kind of creates a split from my bump down and I'm not 100% sure how decent I am in it because I can't see! Kind of embarrassing when the postman comes - which is quite often at this time of year!

Yeah it's pretty much the same thing here, although with twins they won't send you away if you're definitely in labour, so I'm told. xx

OMG how did she do that. I'm 5 foot 2 and there is no space lol!! 45 weeks sounds like torture!!

Same here Papermoon? Every 4-5 mins unless before 37 weeks then in straight away. Go in if waters break straight away but then sent home if pains aren't regular. Then if no labour in 24 hours induction.

Dd

LOL Laura!:lol: I did have something similar happen! Around the house I will wear comfortable things that my belly has outgrown so my belly ends up sticking out from under it. I've forgotten I was wearing things like that a couple of times when someone has come to the door. LOL! I don't remember till after it's done and over with hahaha.

Oh okay cool thanks! :) It's nice to compare notes. :)

I didn't have the excitement of labour coming on naturally with Pops as she was induced at 42 - it's something I really wanted/want! Bit anxious though about leaving it too long at home as once I finally got going with Poppy the actual labour was very quick for a first-timer, really convinced this one's going to fly out!!

Haha Laura I swear dignity just goes out the window when you're pregnant.. I'm such a prude usually but actually remember the midwives covering me up when I was in labour as everything was hanging out and I just didn't give a monkeys! I'm sure the postman understands

Yeah me too Kate! That makes me nervous to wait for what seems to me like the last minute. 5 minutes apart seems like the baby will be about to come out. I might go in earlier anyway just to be safe. :)

Especially if you live far from hospital, I wouldn't chance waiting TOO long!

Kate, I feel a bit sad that I'll miss out on the excitement of going into labour (unless they come before Friday)! It would be nice to avoid the pessary and drips, too. Lol about hanging out! I'm also a bit of a prude and don't even like showing my arms normally, but I imagine I'll be stripping off, it's SO hot in the hospital too.

So my mum has struck again! She twisted my arm for induction date, so I told her but asked her to keep it private. Well, we had dinner last night with her cousin's wife (who is lovely, but I've met her like a handful of times only) and before we even order, cousin's wife goes "soo 23rd!". I was really taken aback. I maybe should have waited until later, but I said "It would've been nice to tell people myself" and then my mum got all pissy with ME! Apology? Nope.

I feel like anyone would be really annoyed about that?? I don't want the world to know when I'm going to push my babies out, it feels like a private moment? :( really bummed out.

44 weeks! I am enormous at 37! Maybe if it was just one though!
That made me laugh about the dressing gown! Do it up more to the side maybe?
Oh your mum Laura! I have been tempted to give mine false info sometimes and see who passes it back to me! I suppose it shows your mum is more interested than you might have thought. Has she got over the fact you might miss Christmas dinner?!

Yes it shows she is interested but really I'm sick of her attitude. She just told me she ran into a friend yesterday and said sarcastically "hope you don't mind I told her you're pregnant.. I really don't see the big deal about telling people your induction date, it's only a date for goodness sake" she's just such a cow. Ugh I'm so fed up with her thinking of herself. It's just dampening everything. I know I"m hormonal but she's been like this all my life and I feel like this is one time I am struggling to just shrug it off as usual! Sorry to moan xx

Ugh that's so disrespectful of your wishes Laura, that would really pee me off.

Just had the midwife over - she called earlier and asked if she could come drop off the gas and air canisters and do my antenatal appt while she was here - was supposed to be at the doctor's surgery tomorrow - so I ran around like a mad woman trying to tidy the house while my two year old followed, undoing it all ha.

Anyway, I'm measuring small now so I'll be sent for a growth scan - had exactly the same thing with Anna and all was well so I'm not at all worried about it. I was incredibly stressed when it happened last time, it's pretty funny how different 2nd pregnancies can be.

Thank goodness I live like 5 minutes from the hospital, but I still definitely won't wait too long. :)

Wow Laura that was wrong of your mom, she should have respected your wishes. I know how you feel though. Don't feel bad about being annoyed. I have a friend I've known for a long time, she's my age, and ever since I told her I'm pregnant she just transformed herself into some kind of mother figure doing things like that. Trying to tell me everything I should do, wanting to talk to doctors for me to say what and how she thinks things should be done. Trying to control the whole pregnancy and birthing process. People are a trip. LOL! I think she means well and don't realize what she's doing, but it does get kind of annoying. Now she's trying to arrange some kind of "sip and see" for me which I never heard of, I had to google it. It's like an afterbirth baby shower/viewing where she arranges for everyone to come and view my baby. So now I've got to put the brakes on her and her "sip and see" plan till I feel comfortable with people coming around T.J. :wall2:

Yeah I'm normally concerned about wanting to be completely covered up too because of my background. :) But I probably won't care about that once those pains hit!

How bossy of your friend Papermoon! My sister’s husband's family do something similar in the Middle East where all THEIR relatives come round to see the baby, they have special chocolates and tat and my sister didn’t have any say in it!

Had 2nd steroid injection today and pre op, went well. More prepared for a section now but will have scan first just in case. Twin one's head still feels high! Have to be there at 8 & I will probably be at 9!

How are you feeling that it's all happening tomorrow? It must be amazing and quite emotional after such a long journey xx

Haven't had chance to read back so hope everyone's ok! Just thought I'd update!

So I lost loads of plug the past couple of days, and woke up this morning with funny twinges. Thought nothing of it and went about my day but started to realise these twinges were getting more frequent and painful.

Got to 4pm and thought I'd start timing, just to see if they were Braxton Hicks or something more. I was having period like pains for about a minute every 5 minutes so after an hour called triage. I was wuizzed in by my MIL, hooked up to the ctg and monitored. The machines weren't picking up my tightenings etc so I was them swabbed for preterm. Luckily came back negative but they said I am definitely having contractions. I've been sent home with paracetamol and told if they increase in intensity then to go straight back! Well, they are only getting worse so I've taken their advice and finally packed my side of the hospital bag (used the excuse to buy new pyjamas and socks lol!) so I think my Squigg is trying to race your twinnies it seems! Il try keep y'all updated hit hopefully I won't have a birth announcement any time soon! xxxxxxxx

Oh and good luck for tomorrow Blue, D Day isn't it? Hope it all goes well, can't wait to see your twinnies xxxxxx

Yikes Abi! We might get 5 babies by the end of this week the way things are going! Hope he hangs in there a bit longer, but that's crazy you've lost your plug! I'm hoping mine decide to come anytime before Friday so I can avoid the drips and stuff but I've just got painful BH, no plug or anything else to speak of. Keep us updated xxx
