***January 2017 mummies!*** 3rd Trimester

This is my second time, only had a scan on thursday thought so they didn't mention another. His heart rate went up slightly when they said they saw movements. They also sprung on me that I was now to be consultant lead which means a birth not in my home town, so gutted by that tbh! Just spoke to MinL and she has said if he isnt back to normal by morning then to call again xxxx

Yeah I would call again if still not happy. Yeah they said to me they usually do scans a couple weeks apart at least so thats prob why they didn't mention it to you. I'm under consultant too. That sucks about having yo change the hosp you give birth at :(. Xxx

Yeah I think I might. Naughty little slug he is ¬¬ . Whats the difference in consultant to MLU? I am really gutted about the hospital, I was born there, OH was born there, all our sibilings etc :( xxxxx

Oh I'll have to check out the December thread!

I'm sure baby is okay Abi but still keep checking, don't let them just blow you off. It's better to be sure than to worry yourself.

Well my birthday is this Friday Dec 9th :) I'm taking the day off work and I'll do something special with my honeybunny. Wew! I'll be 48 years old! I'll be 53 yrs old when T.J. starts school :)

Oh I meant to ask, for you ladies having boys, how many of you are planning on circumcising them? Just curious. :) I'm thinking of NOT circumcising T.J. but OH is circumcised and he might want T.J. to be circumcised too. I haven't brought it up to him yet because I'm afraid he'll want T.J. circumcised. I think he assumes I'm for circumcision since most babies here in the US get circumcised, that's why he hasn't brought it up either. What do you ladies think? :) I've read a lot about it and I want to leave T.J. the way nature made him.

Hello all, had my baby shower this afternoon. Was so anxious about having one as I just don't like the fuss and hate for people to feel obliged, but my little sister insisted on throwing me one and organised it beautifully. She made an incredible cake - she's an aspiring baker - and secretly asked everyone to bring their favorite childhood book instead of any presents or cards. So I've come home with a beautiful starry canvas bookcase and a readymade library for little one. Feeling so touched and very lucky :-)

I don't think circumcision is common at all here in the UK (or really anywhere outside the US?) I don't even know how you'd go about it if you wanted it done...the thought is absolutely horrifying honestly, I didn't even know it was a thing until a few years ago, it still shocks me...especially how they're not numbed?! :(

That sounds lovely Holdingthumbs!

Circumcision isn't common here except for Jewish people. My sister is married to a Muslim so their son was circumcised. Also heard of some Europeans doing it for hygiene reasons if it's a hot country, other than that, no.

Yes I know it's horrible. :( I am NOT going to get that done to T.J. Here in the US it's offered to all parents of boy babies and they get it done before the baby even leaves the hospital.

Yeah I was reading about how it's done with no anestesia, and sometimes it gets botched, and I read how most in the world don't get it at all. I was shocked to hear the the US was like the only country doing it. Here in the US it's like 77% circumcised! But the number is declining thank goodness. T.J. will NOT be one of those 77%. No cutting on my little baby!

Oh that sounds nice Holdingthumbs! I bet you had a good time.

My gosh Papermoon I did not know that! I agree very rare here unless for religious reasons.. Also makes me feel slightly cross..

That sounds wonderful Thumbs what a fantastic idea!! Wonder what book I would have taken.. I did love Beatrix Potter as a kid (still do!) and The Enormous Crocodile by Roald Dahl!

Hope your babies are ok Abi and Millie, i'm sure your scan will be fine sweet and if laying flat makes you feel awful i'm sure they'll prop you up? If not, i'm sure Imogen's blood flow will be fine and having the scan will outweigh the discomfort.. Hope all goes ok xxx

Not heard from the hosp yet, OH has called twice. I hope it is today as otherwise will need more Clexane as don't have enough and is causing meloads of anxiety now. I just want to know either way. The doc sort of just shoved me out the door on friday and said they can be life threatening heres some Clexane we'll call monday bye. It hasn't been a very nice weekend! Xx

Millie can you call maternity assessment line and ask them? They always pick up so at least you will definitely get through to someone.

Thumbs that sounds absolutely lovely! What a great idea with the books.

I just called OH at work and he didn't answer but immediately text back "in a meeting. Are they coming?" hahah I think he's on high alert these days. Good to know as he's usually crap with his phone.

That's funny Laura! My DH said he's only having one beer on Fridays and Saturdays from now on in case he has to take me to the hospital! I bet he's on tenterhooks at work!!

It's at tomorrow at 11am :).
Lol my OH never drinks but they have a christmas do at work this year and they have some money from company to buy drinks etc. He is such a lightweight so I'm so nervous I would go into labour that night lol! Xx

Better that you go and don't need it than not going and needing it though x she's going to be a little monkey when she's here though girls always seem to cause trouble lol
