***January 2017 mummies!*** 3rd Trimester

Nope she just felt down by her head. They can write it different ways but 2/5th either means 2 5ths of her head is in the pelvis or 2 5ths is palpable (whatever the word is lol) so they can feel 2/5ths of head left. Think ours write it so they write what they can feel. So she's quite engaged but not fully. Apparently first babies can engage quite early though and doesn't mean much. Effaced is the cervix check but she hasn't done any of that lol I think people can be fully effaced and even a bit dilated from quite early and it not mean to much either.

Your cat is sooooooooo gorgeous! He reminds me so much of my boy that we had to get put to sleep. Ours was black and white but had the same fluffyness xx

Aww what a munchkin! We've had old Tom since I was 9 years old :O he's a bit of an old man now, but still just as regal of course ;)

You're girls are growing so well Laura!!!

Had out growth scan today, Squigg is growing well, estimated 4.4lbs currently which we are happy with. Gutted we barely saw his face again though... Suppose we will actually meet in person soon! Scary stuff !!

If any of you are struggling with your back /hips I highly reccomend a TENS machine! My mum gifted me hers today and oh wow it's amazing! xxxxxx

How can they tell about being engaged MillieLaura. Just by looking? I don't really understand that kind talk haha. Squigg is head down still thankfully xxxx

Oh Lisa they're beautiful and I am so glad to hear they're doing so well!! Hope you're ok too? How are you recovering?

Thanks :-) I'm doing great thank you. No more shaking, no swelling. The scar is still hurting a little if I try to use my stomach muscles, but it's healing nicely.

They are so adorable Lisa! Made me feel so emotional! They look so well, tiny but finished! How much did they weigh again? Did the staff put them both on you at the same time for the skin contact?

No, sadly I don't didn't get skin to skin when they were born. The rushed them out of the room and I only got to see on a screen. Daddy got to go with them though and I got to visit them after my anaesthesia had worn off.

Kate yea some bordered on nice lol .... I was off my head though! Lol kinda like and this is tmi but know when you've not been able to "go" for a while then you get them intense tummy waves and it feels soo much better a bit like that.... lol.

That's great news Laura!

Lovely kitties ladies! They are sooooo cute! :D.

T.J. is head down I hope he stays that way, and he weighs 4lbs6oz. :)

Glad you and the babies are doing good Lisa! :)

Aw your babies are such good weights lol Imogen seems tiny! I was 30+5 I think when I had growth scan lol and got estimated 3lbs 3. Hope she does some growing!

When she measured bump she felt around first to find position and then felt low down where Imogens head is for the engaged thing and they go off how much head they can feel above your bone I think :) xx

I haven't had any growth scans/weight estimates so feeling a little left out of the weight guessing games! Poppy was 7lb 7oz and 2 weeks late so I am hoping this one follows suit and doesn't grow too enormous! Who knows, feels like I have a baby rhino in there sometimes  Happy Friday everyone, hope you all have fantastic weekends, I think i'll get the tree up tonight! xx

Kate it will be a delightful surprise! To be honest, the last few months in the scans I've barely been able to make out much of the babies because once they get passed a certain gestation, you don't really see a whole baby on the screen just a bit of limb or a bit of tummy! It's nice for reassurance but it's not like in the 12 and 20 week scans where you see the whole baby shape and their little features.

Braxton Hicks question for everyone.. does it make you feel slightly nauseous and like you're BURSTING for a wee? I feel like I'm constantly unsure as to whether I need to sit down or go for a wee hahah xx

The strong Braxton Hicks makes me feel nauseous. I'm usually in too much pain to notice if I feel like I have to pee. LOL.

Bit worried over here. My brother's just come back from three months travelling around Asia and he'll be living here for a while because he's just finished Uni and starting his own business. Anyway, he went to the doctors today about a rash on his arm and the doctor says it looks like he's had MRSA. It seems very likely true because apparently MRSA was going around at the boot camp where my brother was doing a course for a month.

Now I'm obviously worried because I don't want to catch it and I certainly don't want the babies to catch it either when they arrive. Google says it only stays in your system for 10 days so maybe it's ok but it's worrying. I'm seeing consultant on Monday so I'll see what they say.

Ooh not sure. Has he moved in yet? What do your parents say?

Had to share this with you ladies...measured my 35 week belly just now (around the belly, like how you'd measure a waist) and it's 109cm. When I was 39 weeks with Anna, it was only 105cm! But the funniest part is that I measured around my massive bum out of interest and it's flipping 105cm. I knew it had got huge but jeeeeze, it's the size of a full term belly XD

That's funny! My twin bump is 111cm! (Had to measure it for Baby Shower game!) Not measured bum though!

Yes, he moved back yesterday. My mum just shrugged it off (she's the reason none of us get immunised because she doesn't believe in it - might have to rethink that one)! My dad said "don't use the same bathroom for a while but should be fine" sooo helpful lol.

Oh lord mine was 121cm a week or so ago when I picked up the measuring tape. how bloody big are these babies? It's a pretty solid bump.

Honestly my stomach was the only part of me that I was quite happy with before pregnancy :wall2:

Oh my goodness Laura that sounds scary! Be very careful! I don't want to scare you. It says here: https://www.staph-infection-resources.com/info/contagious/

MRSA is a contagious bacterial infection that spreads through direct skin to skin contact with people, or by touching contaminated surfaces, however MRSA can also move through air. People with active MRSA or Staph infections are more contagious, but even MRSA carriers who are not infected can spread it to others causing infections.

Be very careful, maybe the doctor can give you a shot to make sure you don't catch it. Be sure to let him know about your brother.

LOL Ladies I don't own a tape measure but now I'm curious to measure my own! I know mine is at least 40- something inches. LOL! :)
