***** January 2015 Mummy's *****

I think it'll be easier once you don't have to go to work, like a massive burden has been lifted from your shoulders!

I went to see the new Hobbit movie this afternoon, think baby was a little bit intimidated by some of the scary noises but seems to have enjoyed the music on Strictly and X-Factor this evening. Am hoping that he's now worn out and won't throw his usual midnight party for one.

My parents took me shopping yesterday (my dad got me a wheelchair to sit in as we went round Bluewater - so embarrassing!) and we've bought some nice stuff for the baby that my OH would have poo-pooed. Pushchair has arrived, I just wish my gym ball would! (It was due a couple of days ago).

If we could only sort out a crib/cot & changing table (two points of contention) I would be happy knowing that we're in a good position for the next few weeks.

Plus, OH is having second thoughts about the name after having told his family what it would be.

Am hoping to pack hospital bag tomorrow, although kind of wanting to know whether it's a C-section or natural birth I should be planning for.

Dinner sounds nice Nat (so does prosecco!). We had lunch out yesterday too and it feels like ages since we've done it. Probably one of the last chances we'll get to do something as just our little family before baby arrives as it will be all the Christmas stuff with wider family now.

2 weeks until I'm officially full term...how?!

Put the last couple of missing bits from hospital bag in yesterday so just need some energy drinks and a couple more snacks for hubby but I'll worry about them nearer the time.

We've finally settled on the name too. It was always my fav but one my husband has always said no to, and then suddenly one day turned around and said it was on his top 3 list?! I'm not complaining as I get to have my favourite name lol. It's staying secret until she's here though, just in case anyone recognises me on here as we don't share with family/friends until baby is born and safe in my arms :)

Well my Dad has just dropped mine and baby's bag so I can start throwing a few bits in.

Also got my TENS machine. Am amazed how much more relaxed ive been about the hospital bag this time. Last time I was packed from 30 weeks lol.

Baby been a bit quiet today? I can feel her but not as much as usual? Hate days like this.

I'd pack for natural TC, although I see you still think baby is transverse. I guess see what next mw appt brings. If anyone does end up with an emergency section then I think all you need is some massive knickers and clothes that dont sit on your scar (maternity leggings - over the bump - should work?). Ladies that have had a section will know better though.

OH has gone off our name as well. Tough luck as that's her name.

ceecee - yay for getting your favourite name :) must be nice to be all packed & feeling prepared.

Carnat - did baby have an active day yesterday/day before? sometimes I think they wear themselves out :)

I guess you need a few more clothes/things for a C-section as you have to plan to stay longer (I was hoping to be minimalist in my packing!), but yes you're right I should just get on & make sure the majority is in there!

Not long for everyone to go now... yay! Should we have a sweepstake on how many babies end up being born on Christmas (24-26th) or over New Year (31st-1st)? :D One thing about having a natural birth is there's the excitement of not knowing exactly when baby is going to decide to make an appearance... well, good if you like surprises (like me!) :)

Hope everyone is ok. I'm currently in the bath with a poorly bottom. Stupid pregnancy piles :-(

This is my 2nd pregnancy and most definitely the last. Can't wait to meet the little man :-)

Steph this is my second and last one too. Sadly, I'm not one of those women that thrives in pregnancy even though both of mine have been relatively easy with no complications. I'm just not a good pregnant person! I never have this mysterious 'glow' that people mention either haha.

I've packed way lighter this time too...last time I took the lists people posted as gospel and had so much stuff I didn't need in there. Gone with minimal as the unit is only 10 mins down the road so hubby can always nip back for extra stuff if needed. Just need to pop in the phone charger on the day just in case it's a long labour.

Last pregnancy for me too.

Had an amazing pregnancy with James, not been as great this time round but its been relatively simple and drama free... I'm just suffering a bit more with the actual physicality of being pregnant this time and working full time and having a 2 year old and moving house lol. Its been a busy time for me.

Just having a mini meltdown about money. With James we had savings this time we're winging it.

I had a good pregnancy with 1st up until 35 weeks when I had appendicitis, then after the Labour I had accreta and had to have 9 units of blood.
Got previa with this one that is moving so hopefully, will have completely moved at my next scan on Thurs. Then having an mri week after to check for accreta!! Had piles and reflux with both pregnancies, the things we have to go through eh?

TS- could you pack a second bag to leave at home and get OH to take in for you in case of a CS, or staying longer?

I'd like one more but I am struggling physically this time so don't think another small gap would be that wise. I'm 35 though so not sure how much time that gives for another. One of the biggest reasons for a small gap this time was to leave the oportunity for another if we wanted. I think we will just see how it goes. I'm going to try and loose a bit more weight after this one comes because I'm already heavy and adding a huge bump to that is part of what my body is finding hard to keep up with I think.

Nat I hate those quiet days too, I was going to go for assessment yesterday but movement really picked up again after 2 quieter days.

Me and oh were watching my belly for ages. It's so nice to share with him as the baby still stops moving the instant he touches my belly - isn't it strange how she seems to know the difference between his hand and mine

Sorry to those of you struggling with this pregnancy, I don't know how well I'd cope second time around, where you can't take so much time for yourself

I'm having a scan and review tomorrow, I'll be 36+3 so I'm hoping they'll make a decision about when they're inducing, I'm not sure I'm happy going much beyond 37wks with oc, especially as my blood results have been so high

I've just made some heart stopping tiffin to cheer myself up :-) :-D

Looks like you are going to be the next January Mummy Chicken - how exciting!!!

X

Steph - you have my sympathies, that sounds horrible!

Chicken - Christmas baby for you then???? :) Your blood results in the OC thread have sounded crazy, I hope you're okay.

OH says he wants this pregnancy to be our last as it's been really hard. WTF? Plus, there were months during 2nd tri when all was dandy but of course he forgets those!

Woke up this morning with a bloodshot eye (well, lots of red blood vessels showing on one side of the eye). Anyone else had this before?

I'm still not packed!

Right hand side ribs still only thing really giving me any pain but sometimes takes my breath away. Don't think i'm having any BH although sometimes bump just seems a lot more solid than other times?

I'm at work this week till Weds then off on leave until Jan 30th - will work 30th,31st & 2nd then re-assess how I am feeling to see whether to try and carry on any further. I work 4 days on 4 days off so still get plenty of time off but only planning on taking 6 months so don't want to waste too much time pre-baby being born! Then I have the massive task of getting my fitness back to come back to work (I'm a Firefighter)!

So jealous of everyone finishing up this week.

I have 12 more working days (not including today) BUT they span the next 4 weeks.

4 days this week, 3 next week, 4 the week after and then 2 days? Depressing.

Katy, do they let you leave it this late to decide when you go on maternity leave? I had to confirm my dates months ago?

How has it been being desk bound? I am sure you'll have no trouble getting back into after baby arrives but take it easy in the early days!

Meant to say baby is still quiet? Not worryingly quiet (I am getting enough movement to know she is OK?) but she was crazy active before.

Maybe she has grown?

Nat just phone and check if you're still worried? How long has her quiet spell been? When did you last feel movement? X

I have given my due date as date to go on maternity leave! Been very boring being desk bound although I try and join in any training I can or watch them do the more active stuff!

Kiwi- congratulations on the arrival of your son!! I hope he's doing well

Meg- loved the cake, how nice of your work colleagues

Can't believe things are getting so close and we're all talking maternity leave/hospital bags and meeting babies!!

Im still only 34 weeks but not long now. Start acupuncture/moxa tonight for the next 10 days to try and get this baby out of the breech position. Really want to avoid a c section if at all possible, this baby was conceived medically (ivf) so would like the arrival to be a bit more natural..... Time will tell though and as long as baby arrives here safely x

Last day at work today! Can't believe it.
Had midwife this morning, baby is back to back so I'm hitting that birthday ball like there's no tomorrow. Pelvic rocking to turn this wee one round.
