***** January 2015 Mummy's *****

Good luck today Jan!
Wow amazing pictures jayceesmumma! I can understand your worry i would be the same. Just don't stop pestering them about it and they might keep an eye on it for you. I would definitely pay for another scan if i had to. :-) You'll have to keep us posted! I wonder how many times the 4D sonographers see something like this?

Happy Tuesday ladies. Have some work to do this morning then have the rest if the day just me and DD. She's not 100% atm with temperature, cough and cold. Fingers crossed the weather is a bit better today so we can go out for a while for some fresh air! :-)

Good luck today jan let us know how u get on will be thinking of you!

I hope I have a good app today I'm going to be upset if they dismiss it quickly :(

I think they'd see it happen quite often maybe especially with earlier scans as there's so much space in there to move about (although it doesn't feel like it!!) I'm hoping for some reassurance it's okay but also piece of mind it's going to be kept an eye on.. We will see!

Sorry to hear your little one is poorly FC I hope she feels better soon!xx

Has anyone had their flu jab yet? I need to book mine in with Lilyanna's I'm really scared about it for some reason! Maybe the last jabs I had have put me right off! Steroids and anti sickness.. Both very painful!

Had mine just 40 minutes ago!

Didn't even notice it being done to be honest.

Good luck today with the scan Jan, hope everything is as well as it can be x

I'm in gp waiting room in between my blood glucose test appointments, 2hrs would probably go alot quicker if they had WiFi here lol

The glass the woman got out to pour my Lucozade into was absolutely disgusting! I'm not talking water marks here - lipstick, fingerprints and mouth gloop! Luckily I had a water bottle in my bag so I used that instead, absolutely shocking to be honest, goodness knows what germs and viruses she could have been passing on to me (or more importantly, my baby)! I wonder what else hasn't been cleaned properly!

Grrh, sorry that turned into a rant

Thanks nat! I'm being such a wuss!!! Feel better about it now! No dead arm or anything?

CD that's appalling!! Did you say anything??

Only 'ew, that's not clean, I'll see if there's something else I can use' - she completely ignored me, think I'll pop a complaint in later though ;-) x

I've just seen the pictures, they're beautiful. Bit unnerving about the cord, it never occurred to me that that could happen. As long as baby's happy and well that's all that matters though xx

I'd have taken it in the loo and washed it? Just to make a point lol. I'd have washed it with the antibacterial handwash and not loo water - just to clarify lol.

No dead arm yet, but I do recall last time I did have a dead arm? Actually with James I had two dead arms as I had the flu jab and whooping cough jab at the same time - one in either arm - the next day they were both dead.

As injections go though this was about the best I have ever had  (I am OK with needles though!)

Good luck today Jan xx got everything crossed for you :)

jayceesmumma those pics are so good wish I had opted for that :) I never knew about the cord I thought it only happened later on Hope you get to have more scans :)

I had my flu jab on 25th September never felt a bit of it thankfully xx

Thanks hun.. Just hard when I've had it before and the traumatic experience I had with Jaycee, they screamed at me to stop pushing so they could cut her cord before delivering the rest of her body.. And then my friend who wasn't so lucky :( I'm sure everythjng is fine though I appreciate your kind words :) it was odd how the previous week I was concerned about too much movement like bubs was struggling.. And to think I was potentially right :/

It sounds like they didn't handle the situation very well? I don't think cutting the cord because it is around the babys neck is recomended? The cord getting squeezed restricts blood flow but cutting it cuts off all blood flow so only makes things worse. The MW asked me to stop pushing too but she was very calm about it. It felt weird when she was messing with the cord though, like someone was twanging a giant rubber band in my privates, lol.

Thanks girls. On my way into Central London now. Appointment is at 2. Hope all who had their flu jan feels ok xxx

I don't know, I was told that my friend lost her baby because she carried on with the delivery without having the cord removed first on the midwives orders.. So the hospital got sued.. Doesn't make up for the loss tho :(

Mw said not to worry about the cord because if it's still there it will cause baby distress in labour and the monitor will pick it up and I'll be taken to theatre 😳
She said to keep an eye on movements though, she said it deadly serious staring at my face lol kinda like telling me off! I need ten movements in ten hours but if I feel it's reduced in a way I'm not happy with they'll monitor me and half hours worth should show if it's distressed in there.. So no offer of another scan (surely being prepared would be better then having the potential rush in labour??) but acknowledgement of my concerns.. Also booked my flu jab and she threw in the whooping cough one too for Saturday 😩
On a better note she was fantastic at taking my blood! Didn't even feel it!!

I hope you're okay Jan and you have some support with you.. Thinking of you honey xxx

Jayceesmumma I'm glad the midwife appt went ok - I guess it's good they'll be prepared for theatre if need be.

Well strange appointment.. heart defect (truncus arteriosus) remains the same (which we assumed would be the case..) but the kidney which were dilated at 20 weeks are back to normal. Small mercies. They basically said although truncus is on 'the more complicated side of cardiac surgery', his condition can be fixed with a 90% success rate. Fingers crossed..

Only other issue they raised is my amniotic fluids are slightly raised, higher than would be expected at this stage (notes say deepest pool 8.1cm) and the stomach is enlarged on the 95 percentile.. Apparently both those things together can mean one of three things.. Gestational diverse (which they'll test me for this week hopefully) or signs of premature labour (!) this one worried me as I've been having some painful braxton hicks (but not regular thankfully) or (and this is rare/hopefully unlikely..) a problem with his trachea.. Apparently could he sign there is a disconnect between his oesophagus and his gut (basically another thing that would require surgery..) but we're hopeful it's not this!!

Thanks for checking in on me. It's been a strange day as was better than the first scan (that was awful!) yet not great news. They did do a 4d scan though which was amazing and he looks perfect!!

I meant gestational diabetes (damn predictive text!) x

Glad to hear things went semi OK Jan.

I mean I know nothing is OK when your little one requires heart surgery but like yourself I am always thankful when a scan shows 'nothing else' wrong so to speak.

Hoping that you get a diagnosis about the waters ASAP, just so you know what you are dealing with?

Did they not mention polyhydramnios to you? http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/polyhydramnios/Pages/polyhydramnios.aspx

I am guessing if they didn't mention it then they don't think this could be a cause? My SIL had this in 2 of her pregnancies and like you she had high fluids and was measuring big?

More worry for you BUT hopefully it's nothing serious sweetie

X

I'm glad it went reasonably well hun, hopefully they'll have a plan set up for you so you know what's going to happen.. Was hoping everythjng would be fine for bubs, sorry to hear that things are still problematic :(

God I feel so sick today!

Actually I have been feeling sick since yesterday evening?

Not really had much nausea so this is horrible.... I am not ill enough to be off work but I don't know what will make me feel better? Do I need food? Rennies? a poo (), rest, water?

I have a day when I feel like this every few weeks, but it's so annoying.

:sick::sick:
