***** January 2015 Mummy's *****

Hugs Jan and Kiwi, must be such a worry with poorly babies x

Mine is just having extra scans and a urine test when she's born due to me getting a virus called cytomegalovirus in pregnancy, it can cause lots of serious problems for babies, but only if they get the virus passed on to them - they think I might have had the virus before, which means only 1% chance of baby getting the virus but if I haven't had it before it's a 50% chance :-( seems like the odds are in our favour though so we're focusing on that :)

Hi ladies hope u are all well I have my 28 week scan yesterday and little one is doing just fine I see my consultant on wed hoping for a date for my c section, baby is in head down position already I hope that doesn't mean he/she will want to come early

To you ladies who already have children. What do Braxton hicks feel like. Every now and again around near the waistband of my trousers under my bump I get a really tight pressure sensation. Could this be it?

Yup sounds like Braxton hicks to me.. Won't be long til the tightness covers the whole bump and it goes solid it's so weird lol! I get them all the time very strong sometimes painful but nothing too bad..

Thanks for starting the tri 3 thread CARNAT :) I'm just over 27wks now

Has anyone signed up for mothercare evening thingy? I'm planning on going tonight it's from 6 til half 8, I'm not going to get taken in by them trying to sell me stuff I don't necessarily need but they are giving 10% discount if you go so hoping to order pram tonight!! Also my ribs ache you know that feeling when you have has a bad cough it's exactly like that, can anyone else relate ? Xx

How was the mothercare evening? I was supposed to go on Thursday, but felt so tired I just went home instead - would have taken 45 mins to get there too so it seemed too much like an ordeal

I have no idea how women cope with pregnancy and looking after children at the same time. I suppose you just do what you have to do, but just going to work feels like a big effort atm

Yeh it was ok there was a first aid workshop, car seat and pram workshop, other company's attempting to sell photography shoots and 4d scans tbh you didn't miss much and I don't think it would have been worth a 45min drive in my opinion, we did get 10% off voucher to use till the 26th oct we just used it when we ordered our pram. If u download the mothercare app you can get £10 pound off if u spend a min of £50 xx

Hi I had a scan on fri an baby is in head down position already anybody else's baby head down yet

Afternoon ladies.
I have had a dreadful couple of days. Extreme abdominal pain Friday night saw me admitted to hospital. ? Appendicitis.
As it is the weekend I have been unable to have a scan (how rubbish is that?!) so I have just come home and will go back in tomorrow for the scan. Pain a bit easier now but still very difficult to move. Hate feeling so useless!
Such a worry thinking I may have to undergo an operation whilst pregnant. I was in under joint care of the surgeons and obstetricians soon the antenatal ward so the one plus side was I got to hear my baby's heartbeat every 4 hours and she is good and healthy and seemingly oblivious to my pain.
Hope you are all having a better weekend than me!! x

Sorry to hear that lotty73 must be awful! hope they can sort it quick and your resting up x

Midwife said mine was head down at my 28 week appointment the other day too! Not sure whether that's a sign of anything or not but baby has been mostly head down at scans too. X

Also sorry to hear lotty how you feel better soon! X

Hi girls! The tri 2 thread seems a bit quiet so thought I'd poke my nose in here. 26 weeks tommorrow so getting close!

My first LO turned head down at 26 weeks (I felt her do it) and didn't turn again. This one doesn't seem to have turned in over a week and OI'm pretty sure he is staying feet up now. I haven't seen it on a scan yet but the kicks seem to be at the top and sometimed I can make out his head at the bottom of my bump.

Tri 2 thread is super quiet?

I guess we're all busy.

Lotty sorry to hear you are suffering, I suppose only silver lining is that its' not "baby related"

Feel better soon.

Anyone noticed a pattern to movements yet? My bub's is really quiet at night-time but I feel her loads in the day (James was the opposite)

Speaking of movements I didn't get my usual reaction to my first morning cuppa, hadn't felt anything since last night before bed... cue lots of panic. Had to give her a wee poke and she has been booting me like mad ever since!!

X

I have noticed that baby moves most at night and in the morning, and then is more lazy during the day, think it's due to me being on the move a lot during day so maybe just notice it more when stopped!?

Holiday day is here for me so super excited, a week in the sun is just what I need :)
then on my return I will be flying off to see baby again and have a meeting with the surgeon, which I am worried about already! But it's always nice to see baby too.

Hope your all well. X

Happy holiday's Kiwi, where are you off to?

Was really busy on Saturday and didn't notice baby much but I have a desk job so feel her loads during the day. Hopefully this means she'll be a good sleeper at night [if only it worked like that ]

I know every appointment must be scary hun but as you say you need to focus on the positive and that is you get to see bub's again.

I have another scan on 30th (28w). Am pretty sure I am going to be scanned every 4 weeks now. Thankfully I am still low risk - can still use birthing centre etc.

X

I seem to have a pattern of first thing in the morning, mid-afternoon and at about 8pm at the moment. Not noticing much during the night which is good as my son used to wriggle all night and drive me bonkers!

I'm 26 weeks today by LMP. I know third tri technically starts at 26+6 but I think I might move over here now. By my scan measurements I am actually 26+2 today, so it's only a few days :)

Off to Tenerife, all inclusive so will be lounging by the pool and eating all day haha.
Yeh just have to stay positive and the way I always think is any information is good, as it means we and the doctors can all be preparing for the birth. And we will just have to take it as it comes.
And the extra scans are a bonus, as seeing baby is so magic ever time :)

Hope your scan goes well too and that it is positive, and it's good that you are still getting the use of the birthing centre, it's nice to have options. X

Never been to Tenerife - been to all the other Canaries though!

Enjoy

Yep I think once V-day is done, you are pretty much ready for Tri-3? Well that's my excuse LOL

I flit all over the place anyway.

X

Lottie sorry to hear you're in pain - I know too well the agony of appendicitis - I had it at 10 weeks and had to have the op - they told me at the time they would have preferred me to be in the second/third trimester as baby apparently deals better with the operation than in the first - it's amazing what they can do! I hope you're ok keep us posted x

I get spells of movement throughout the day and night.
Well it's our first wedding anniversary today. Hubby only got out of hospital on Saturday. We had booked to go away but cancelled it so we are waiting to see how he feels and we might head out for dinner. He's really lethargic and nauseated. He's just a wee soul, he's only worrying about ruining our anniversary.

Oh bless him!

Can't you have a "film night" get his fave movies and some nibbles (ice-cream might be good??) and just drag the duvet onto the sofa and snuggle.

X

Thanks Nat. Will need to see how he is. Chemo has gave him a horrible taste in his mouth so affecting what he wants to eat. I'll be happy just watching tv cuddled up on the sofa. As long as I'm with him I don't care.
