*******February mummies 2015*******

Ahh I know it's a wake up call thinking that our time is rapidly approaching! I freaked my partner out last night by saying this time in 4 weeks we will defo have a baby in our arms!

Mrsjohnson, it was still high and I'm suffering with headaches but no other symptoms so she said to take paracetamol and I'm going back on Friday for another check up. She doesn't seem concerned so I have no reason to be either, right....!?!? Thanks for asking xx

Pip- glad to hear midwife didn't seem too concerned. And good to know you're getting checked out again on Friday

I've slightly freaked today after reading about babies coming. Tonight is the last night hubby is working away from home (he's gone to Felixstowe, we love in leeds)

But I've come to stay with my mum and dad (in Lancashire) for the night as I usually do this we. He's away, as they help me with Harry.

So baby needs to stay out for tonight/ tomorrow at least as I have no notes with me and there's lots of snow here.. Not sure I'd get back home

Though Harry has loved playing in the fields having snowball fights with grandma and grandad!!

I'm so jealous of all that snow Becky, but yes, not ideal if baby makes an appearance!

At my midwife check today I was told that baby is brimming and is likely to be here any time within the next 1 - 4 weeks, I'm hoping that baby will stay put until at least a week Saturday as that is when I'm full term. She did say there is a chance that baby could still move but it isn't likely. We're very nervous and excited now!

Have had another funny/dizzy spell tonight and can't shift it :( I wonder if it's a sign

Hi everyone thanks for all the kind messages it has been a roller coaster couple of days!
On Tuesday evening after another day of reduced movements we went to be monitored at hospital. Doctors were unhappy with first trace so I was admitted with the view to repeat the trace at midnight and a growth scan early on wed morning. After the second trace I was sent to delivery suite to be monitored one to one as there were clear drops in baby's hbeat that were slow to normalise. Hubby had just gone home for the night so was told he needed to come back, started to panic by this time!
Anyway it was quickly decided baby was in distress and needed to come out and I was whisked off to theatre with a bewildered and scared hubby. I was given a spinal and hubby called in to be with me for the c-section. Our daughter was born at 02.25 perfectly healthy although a bit shocked! The cord was twice wrapped around her neck and there was meconium in the waters. Absolutely the right decision to get her out!
I am so glad I trusted my instincts, things could have been very different!
We have decided to name her Grace Leigh Thornton and she is already our world! Can't praise the staff at Birmingham Women's hospital enough they were brilliant and we are so thankful xx xx

Wow brumgirl massive congrats. What a story, so glad you trusted your instincts and your wee girl is ok. Hope you're not too sore and loving every minute xxx

Congratulations chick. Very scary for you though.

Quick update ......Contractions started at midnight which woke me up. Every 5-10 mins at moment. Waters are now running pink, but Hosp said that's fine. Hoping I can get to the morning, as mums on baby sitting duty for DS and really don't want to wake her yet. Forgot how painful contractions are!!!!

Aww glad you followed your mummy intuition Brumgirl!

Im up atm with the same thing, havnt felt baby move proper since about 8pm, so sat downstairs and hes started moving in the last 20mins or so. So i think he was just having a long snooze. Guna see how much he moves in the next 30 mins or so!
If not ill be ringing up, even tho i have my midwife in the morning xx

Oww Don-Don hopefully another little beauty will be here soon!
Good luck hun xx

Good luck Don -Don! Hope baby arrives quickly and safely for you xx

Aah brim girl... Best advice ever is to trust your own instinct (remember that in the coming weeks when you worry about what you're doing with baby is right!!)

And what a lovely name! Keep us updated with how you're doing.

Don don- lots of luck. Keep us updated xx

Hi ladies! Quick update we have named our little girl chloe margaret turner. She has been bf like mad and keeps giving me the most judgmental looks lol (im going to blame wind for that!). After a really fractious couple of nights she had the smallest amount of formula after feeding and I just got 5 hours! Nurses have been brill as it was via a cup and im sure shell still want me after, but I really really needed that sleep!

Ok so labour started with wonky back pain and then about 5.30 pm started with more braxton hicks. Period like pains and show followed. Ate then went home as dad had picked me up from work (wasn't finishing till fri). Matt picked me up from parents. On may home had tens machine which btw was fab but stuck to paper a lot! Called hosp as was driving past and wanted to see if they could even confirm I was in labour. They were lovely and said come see us. Was expecting to be told yes but go home, but was examined and 5cm dilated! Started trying to fill pool.

All really kicked off and pool was a godsend but got to dirty from the blood. Had to get out but she was too close to fill pool up again in time. Ended up on bed on knees with gas and air. She was born at 12.51 but had tbe cord round her neck. Luckily she came out immediately after her head! They resuscitated her and took her away. I have a 3a tear and needed a spinal to be stitched up. Matt was terrified bless him but a legend :).

Little one has now been given the all clear and once I'm examined today I can go home! Bricking it as the hospital people really all have been amazing and helpful and understanding :).

Looking forward to seeing all your news soon!

Just seen your post, congratulations brumgirl! Lovely name, looking forward to pictures!

Brum girl you did so well to trust your instincts, just shows that mummy is always right! Sounds like Grace is doing really well, I bet she is in teeny tiny clothes?! Hope you're recovering ok after your section.
Jazz I'm glad you get to go home today and all is ok! I love the name Chloe too! You will be great at home, its daunting for about 5 mins then you soon settle into things!

Wow brumgirl, what a story. Just shows the importance of following your instincts.

Jazz I love the name. Chloe is on our list aswel :)

Woke up with some period type cramping this morning but its all settled now. Does anyone know if you can have too many fetal hiccups? Baby has been hiccuping like made over the last 24 hours x

It's alll kicking off now isn't it.

Just shows how much we really should trust our instincts doesn't it... congrats again brumgirl hope your recovery is good.
Hope everything's going ok after bringing Chloe home sounds like she's feeding like a dream.

I know I keep saying it but jeeeezz I'm so excited lol

Mrsj. .. Dexter must get at least 4 or 5 episodes of hiccups a day.... although I'm not sure what is 'normal'

Xxx

Congrats again to you both Brumgirl & jazz. Loved reading the stories! Names are lovely too :)

Xxx

Mrsjohnson, baby has a fair few hiccups a day for me but if your concerned or it's unusual just give your midwife a quick phone for some advice!?

Both labour stories have had cords round the babies necks, this is worrying as I've not even thought about that happening. Slightly worrying!

I'm getting impatient now :(

Xx
