*** February 2020 mummies ***

Midwife told to me to see my GP which I did but he can't help me. My BP is fine which is good but I've just got to keep taking paracetamol & hope it settles. I felt so out of it today with my head & blurry vision.

Hope it goes away soon.

Aw that's a shame. Did you ask her about listening for it? I have mine Mon but i'll be 15 weeks as my midwife goes on hols the week after.

Sorry you’re still suffering @Everdreamer. My headaches have really eased which I expected as I’ve had the same in both of my other pregnancies. Yours definitely sound more migraine like and not just hormonal if you have them before. It’s such a shame your GP can’t offer you more to help :(

I’ve got my 16 week appointment next Tuesday (almost 17 weeks!) but it’s with the consultant to decide if I’ll be consultant led or not. With my sons labour in December 17 I bled heavily and turned out I had a fibroid on my cervix causing the bleeds. I had it removed when he was 8 weeks old and I was told it would need monitored in any future pregnancies. At my 12 week scan she said she could see it was already back :( so not sure what the consultant will say on Tuesday!

That’s so disappointing she didn’t listen for the heartbeat - I hear so many people say their midwives don’t now until 24 weeks plus. I’m not sure if she’ll listen for me next week but I have a home Doppler and have a wee listen in myself every so often. It’s so worth it when you do get to hear so definitely ask at your next appointment!

Can’t believe I’m 16 weeks today. Crazy! Xx

Hey. Just jumping in here to give a tip. I have horrendous headaches and get migraines too. It sucks as you can’t take anything when pregnant (I can’t take my usual meds) but I’ve found paracetamol washed down with a can of full fat coke actually seems to help. Doesn’t massively help migraines but hope it helps. It’s only time I have caffeine. Xx

Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely give it a try.
I suffer with bad vision anyway so the MW said to go for an eye test. I'm having one Sat as apparently pregnancy can affect your vision too. If my eyes are worse, it would explain the constant headaches & dizziness.

Hopefully everything goes well when you see your consultant. Will they monitor you more closely & maybe offer extra scans?

Thank you! I’m not sure what she’ll do. She may discharge me from consultant care completely but I’ll be very surprised if she does. I think she’ll see me a few times with extra scans to keep an eye on the size of the fibroid - obviously I’m at risk of bleeding again in labour with it so I don’t imagine they’ll just leave it. It’s the same consultant I had with my last son and she was amazing, so I’ll trust whatever she thinks! Xx

I’ve had my gender scan this morning... it’s a girl! we’re so thrilled!

Keep us posted @MrsS15 when you’ve had your appointment, it must be reassuring that you’ve had that consultant before and liked them ☺️

Aww that’s amazing. How exciting! Congratulations on your baby girl <3

I’m back to work tomorrow night. Finish start 8am and got my consultant appointment at 9. At least it’s in the same hospital! So not looking forward to work when I’m still puking every day! I feel like I need to go back and try :(

Hope everyone else is doing okay xxx

Aw you're still being sick? That's not good. I hope your shift isn't too bad. Let us know how you get on at your appointment.

Still have headaches but *touch wood*, much less than before. I had my MW appointment today at 15+3 & it went well. Day by day, veeeery slowly i'm starting to feel more like myself.

Congratulations on Team Pink EskimoGem!

Initially got told I’d be due March but switched to February 27th.
Valentine's baby. I'm hoping mine does not decide to arrive on 29th Feb.
im due the 27th and I’m sooo hoping for it to be born the 29th. Have a leap year baby how cool will that be?? How come you don’t want it to come on the 29th?

My cousin was born on Feb 29th. He's in his mid 20's now but I know he never felt like he got to celebrate his birthday properly each year.

I just don't want that & all the comments people make like they do with him. "Oh you're 22? Except technically you're only xx old, aren't you?"

Hi ladies,

How are you all? Congratulations bre, welcome to February mummies!!

I tried to go back to work on Monday night for the first time in weeks. I had a consultant appointment when I finished in the morning and within an hour I was admitted onto the ward and had to stay for 2 days, needing bags of IV fluids and medication :( I desperately didn’t want to stay in but I felt horrendous and knew I needed help! I can’t believe I’m over 17 weeks and still feeling so bloody crap! I really hope you’re all enjoying the second trimester ‘glow’ it’s totally escaped me. I’m a bloody mess!! Xx

Oh that's no good. I"m sorry you're still not well. When did it ease off with your last pregnancy? Hopefully not much longer to go.

I'm not bad. Have the odd headache, I had one yesterday but they're getting better & barely any nausea now unless I'm hungry or tired. I'm just waiting to pop now as I hardly have any bump at all. It looks like I'm a teeny bit bloated when I wake up & bigger as the day goes on as I've been eating but I want to look pregnant.

I was 16 weeks yesterday & anxiously waiting to feel movement. It's my first though so I'm guessing I won't for another few weeks...

Have you felt anything MrsS15?

It had already eased off by now with my last pregnancy. I still puked until the end but I didn’t feel like I’d constantly been hit by a bus on top of that. It’s making me really down!

I’m glad you’re starting to feel good. As good as you can in pregnancy! I certainly have a bump now, although it’s not huge at all. I really want a big bump so people can understand why I look so shit

I’m 17+3 and still not felt anything. I said to my husband last night it’s starting to worry me but I know that’s silly, it’s still so early. I’d felt my second by 16/17 so I’m willing this little one to be the same. With my first I never felt anything until 20 weeks and then it was just like little butterflies in my tummy! Xx

We've been to a car boot today & despite me saying I was getting nothing until after the 20 week scan, we came back with some towels, a baby bath, a baby carrier & a sterillisor. This is after I bought some baby grows yesterday too.

I want to be excited but still so worried something will go wrong.

I’ve been the same @MrsS15 about not feeling movement, I’m 17+3 today and haven’t felt anything... trying not to stress, as it’s my first so it’s really early to feel anything, but would love the reassurance all the same!

@Everdreamer this is my third baby and I still always worry no matter what. But at this stage id definitely feel confident to buy some bits. Please enjoy it - this is the wonderful exciting bit about pregnancy!

@EskimoGem I've done nothing but complain about not feeling baby move and they must have heard me  today I felt two good kicks and since then some little flips around. Baby is lying super low so I’d never have thought to look for movements as far down as my public line, but that’s certainly where baby is sitting. I’m delighted. But please don’t worry about not feeling much yet, I was 20 weeks with my first. Look out for little feelings like a butterfly fluttering inside - that’s your little baby! Xx

Aww how lovely that you’ve started feeling some kicks!!
You’re completely right, I just need to be patient ☺️

I’ve got my whooping cough vaccination today...anybody else had it yet?

Definitely be patient, it’s the best feeling in the world. I’ve not stopped feeling baby move since the other day and just love it <3

I’ve not booked mine yet. I’ll do it probably next month and get the flu and whopping cough together. It’s totally fine though if you’re worried about it. Just a bit of a dead arm xx

I have mine Monday & my Dr told me to ask for the flu jab at the same time. Then I go on hols on the Friday!

Nausea returned yesterday & today along with gagging. Hoping it's very temporary.
