February 2018 Mummies - the final hurdle

Pleased to hear that babyruth. Must be a huge relief for you.

Signed paperwork makes it all seem real now sebbiesmum?

Still no name Wednesday. Haha. It’s a bit of a joke now innit? Lol. He’s Likely to be called Fraser.

Crazily real, tor'..and all the talking of the procedure and spinal anaesthetic! I'm absolutely terrified! But I dunno why since I've already had one c section..i think it was just all the risks and complications associated with repeat sections that terrifies me :/

So our little bundle of pinkness couldn’t wait any longer. Ava Rose arrived safely into the world weighing 6lbs 3.. yesterday at 37 weeks xxx

Congrats teacup!! Ooh they are coming thick and fast now!!

Soooooooo exciting!!! Hope everyone is ok xxx

Congrats teacup! What a lovely name!

Beginning to think we're going to have no babies left to be born in February haha

Have you been moved to GOSH carnat? How are you all doing? Xx

We're going over on Tuesday, just for the day. She got to see the Neuromuscular team there but will then go back to UCLH.

We're plodding along, they are now thinking she has one of the more rarer genetic conditions, still no formal diagnosis but they are managing our expectations. So we kind of know where we are headed.

It's won't be a great diagnosis to be honest but at least once we have it we can begin the plans to bring her home.

Nat did you have any testing when pregnant at all? Like the harmony test etc?

Is the hypotonia severe carnat?

I hope you get some answers or more information on Tuesday xx

No we didn't have the harmony test Wednesday, although it wouldn't have shown up what they suspect it is anyway.

Yep TOR, it is quite severe. Although we have had some improvements, she brings her hands to her face a lot now and is moves quite well when she isn't too comfy (so bum changes and clothe changes have her moving). Obviously she has to be kept very warm and comfortable as she is so small though. Rest and sleep is more important at this point than getting her going, but she does have some tone and control.

She isn't back to birth weight yet  she's about 5lb 9oz (was 5lb 12oz at birth)

It's not all doom and gloom though. She is a beautiful, calm, chilled little thing and when I am holding her [which is for most of the day] I'm just so peaceful.

I'm also infamous in the neonatal unit now as I'm producing so much milk. I'm getting like 100ml is 5-10 minutes..... I've become a bit of a talking point

That is a lot of milk!!!! Well done! Hopefully they will work out what it is soon x

Well done with the milk! That’s fab.

She sounds like a delight :) beautiful little thing. Well I’m glad to hear there have been some improvements and you are enjoying her.

Ps.. little legs isn’t back to his birthweight either, we’ve had some issues with feeding (was so much easier with my daughter) I hope he has by Monday when they weigh him again.

Hope everyone is well x

Im off for a scan in an hour. Got a growth scan booked in for two reasons really.... firstly it will be funny to see how accurate they are as baby is due to arrive by section on Wednesday... and secondly, if they reckon it weighs less than 8.5lb I will be making a lot of effort to evict it before Wednesday naturally.

I thought I had made peace with having the section, but since Friday was cancelled its almost thrown up another opportunity... so I will see what they say today and base it on that. If its 9lb or over then Im sitting nice and still until Wednesday for the section!

Tor how is feeding going? I fed my First with no problems and he didnt even lose any weight. In fact, the fatty put on 14oz in the first week..... I think I got lucky with him feeding wise - he never slept so maybe he compensated by being a good feeder haha.

Im really hoping this baby feeds well x

Little legs has struggled a bit with the feeding. He lost 8% on day 5 - Tilly didn’t lose anything so I was quite shocked! I have good latch apparently and he had been fed at least every 3 hours so it was all a bit of a worry. By 1 week old I was demented because he wasn’t settling after feeds and I spent 2x nights with him attached to my boobs. I did think my boobs didn’t feel the same on day 5 too as I remember last time so I think the milk hadn’t come in fully. I hope we’ve turned a corner. I’ve been feeding him laying down in bed overnight and letting him attach/reattach himself when he wants to. He’s been getting much longer feeds and settling better so I’m hopeful for tomorrow when they weigh him again. I just can’t understand why it’s been so difficult - I can only think it’s because he’s a bit younger?
