February 2018 Mummies - the final hurdle

You poor loves...lots of complications going on in here nowisnt there :(

On the plus side... we’re all on the Home straight now! Not long before we meet our small people for the first time!!

Ahh sorry to hear about the side effects with drugs.. horrid stuff.

Im 35 weeks today! The end is in sight!

Carnat! It's nice to see a fellow emetophobe! I thought I was the only one  but yes, no sickness for me the entire pregnancy and now I'm going to have to deal with It, I'm not the best when it comes to sick either, the last time I even saw sick I almost fainted :/ I wish I wasn't such a wuss! I have quite a weak stomach at the best of times so I see this probably ain't gonna end too well for me!

Oh god yes!! This pregnancy has been awful :( when I compare the two I definitely got away lightly with my first! This one I've had problem after problem..im sort of glad I'm not going all the way to 40 weeks in a way! There's definitely no more babies after this little madam comes

Has anyone cleaned the straps on a maxicosi cabriofix car seat?

My hubby has got the car seat out of the loft and it’s gross. I know you can wash the cover but what about the straps? They have brown stains on them :( I don’t want to put my new baby in a dirty car seat!!

Also..have any of you changed the mattress in your carrycots? My pram one has a stain on it as well

I should have started this sooner!! Haha

My son is 5 (will be 6 in March) so I dont have any of his old stuff - I bet the straps are a nightmare!!!

I'm the same as Wednesday my youngest is 5 in Jan so don't have any of his old stuff!.. hope the straps aren't too much of a hassle..

Sebbiesmum & CarNat bless you both! It really is amazing how different a pregnancy can be compared to your others! Sorry you're both have a hard time! Not too long left and you'll both have your little cuties in your arms!!

Little missy is causing me pain on a daily now her movements are so painful! She's been head down pretty much this whole pregnancy literally feels like she's trying to punch her way out!

Oh lord.. did you guys get rid of your stuff?? It never occurred to me to get rid of it.. lol.

I want to buy all new stuff!! Haha.

We still have a cot-bed and the pram (was expensive when we bought it for number 1 but it's still going strong) but other than that we don't have much.

Sister has a 9mo baby girl so we have been gifted a huge amount of clothes [it was her first girl after 3 boys so she went a little nuts!]. We're loaning a crib and have a second hand bouncer from family friend. It's in good nick.

Not even sure what else we need? Carseat is being bought for us. New mattress for crib ordered and we'll get a new mattress for cotbed when baby moves into it.

I have got out from my loft..

Pram wheels
Carrycot
Breast pump
Bouncer
Playmat
Car seat
Moses basket
Crib

Things with fabric on it are currently drying in my kitchen as I’ve washed them. The car seat looks a bit worse for wear kind you. The pram carrycot mattress has a stain on it.. the cover doesn’t look particularly washable as it appears to have some sort of cardboard in it?

Torino my sister ended up having my nephew the following year So gifted her my large items.

This pregnancy I have been crazily early with everything I had my final delivery of stuff back in August pretty much as soon as we found out I was having a girl.. mainly due to all my kids n hubby having bdays between sept-Feb my dads 50th and then hosting Christmas for 18. Wanted Jan to be as a relaxing month as possible although still have my sons bday my mums and my mils this month.

Anyone have anything planned for New Years?

I moved House three times since he was a baby, so it made sense xx

Tell me if you think Im being stupid....

Had a growth scan two weeks ago which showed massive baby, loads of fluid, basically due to what they think is gestational diabetes. Im booked in for another growth scan on 9th Jan, seeing consultant on 2nd Jan. The same lady as last time is doing the growth scan.

Im so disheartened and scared about it all. Im considering booking a private growth scan just so I can get a bit more info and see exactly what is going on without the rush/pressure of the NHS doing it.

Am I stupid for considering it? Its only £59 so not too expensive...

Im considering booking it for next weekend

Next weekend is only 2/3 days before your scan?

I am also not sure how much the Sonographer can or will tell you, any issues I've ever heard of being picked up at private scan have immediately been referred to NHS.

I appreciate that you want some reassurance, hopefully the consultant on Tuesday can alleviate some of your worries or even push your scan forward?

I'm also being loaned a Moses basket so that is sorted.

Will buy a breast pump if I need to (only used it when I went back to work last time?). If there were any issues with breastfeeding then I can Amazon Prime some bottles and a microwave steriliser.

If you are worried and think you’ll get the reassurance you need £59 isn’t a lot of money. Says the girl who booked the harmony test some might argue unnecessarily. Haha. I don’t regret shelling out that money for one second though.

I think you’ll get more sense from the doctor to be honest. They should have a plan of action regarding your care based on any diagnostics and symptoms you’ve had. I think mention to them how concerned you are when you go.. it’s only a couple of days to wait.. hang in there!! Xxx

I pumped from about 4 weeks last time. I don’t like being held hostage by the baby in terms of feeds etc. I’m just assuming all will go ok with the breastfeeding - I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it if not.

I don’t have any bottles etc I’m not sure if it’s worth buying any just yet!

Ps.. my house smells like fairy. It’s all becoming very real!! Ha - it’s only taken me to get to 35 and a bit weeks to feel like this!!

Wednesday I agree with Torino.. try speaking to your consultant on the 2nd explain all your concerns and ask for further information I find that the consultants tend to be more forthcoming with information. Additional stres is deffo not what you need right now.

Ahh love the smell of fairy!!!
